Room was exactly as expected and the communication with owner was great. We were running a little late and the owner explained how to gain access to our room as we finally arrived at 10pm! We all jumped straight into bed and had a great nights sleep. We left at 8.30am the next morning and said goodbye to the owner as we left. I would use this site again if needed. It was fun sleeping in a bunk bed again!

Only downside was that the temperature in the room was very low when we arrived at 10pm. The radiators were on but it felt like they had only been switched on shortly before we arrived. Once we jumped into our beds, the kids warmed up quickly.

This is a great hostel and was very fortunate to visit it for a weekend some years ago. Since then there have been some improvements which are good and I found it to be very clean efficient and the rooms were delightful to stay in. Only spoke to the lady dena but she was very nice jolly and bright and helpful. On the hole I found it a very good experience with exception to below

The cooked veggie breakfast was a little bit on the weak side, sausages were virtually inedible...couldn't eat them both. Bearing in mind what I paid for the breakfasts was poor.... My partner complained the mattress was far too hard but to be fair I was fine with it.

Breakfast was excellent. Complimentary tea and coffee making facilities at any time, were so lovely. The gentleman who checked us in on 7th September was really helpful and friendly. The living room/lounge area was very comfortable and everything was so conveniently set out for us all.

The only thing that I would have liked would be an outside washing line to dry our clothes which we washed. However the drying room was working overnight and this helped us.

A very classic youth hostel in a quiet gorgeous location. Wensleydale cheese factory (terrific tour) just around the corner. Stayed in an en-suite with towels provided. Sleeping on the top bunk bed was fun. No TV (of course) but fast WiFi if needed.

It’s a youth hostel, so don’t expect any luxuries!

The location was great and from our window we could see down into Hawes and the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales. We were close to the town and able to walk in for our evening meal very happily. The YHA kindly provided great self-catering facilities as well as free tea and coffee which was VERY much appreciated! The communal areas were sweet and staff were helpful and friendly.

I was unsure when booking if the room was ensuite or used a shared bathroom so that could be a little clearer- could have been something I missed on the page though! The carpark was quite scrappy which was just a bit precarious for a motorbike to manoeuvre and the kickstand to stay in place.

Fantastic purpose built YHA. Super well geared for exploring. A large kitchen, boot drying room and ideal bike storage which we made use of.

There was a good variety of breakfasts available & the cooked English breakfast was great. The 2 members of staff were friendly & helpful & made me feel very welcome. The location is great, situated at the edge of the village with fabulous views of the surrounding hills.

It would have been nice if there had been coffee/tea available when the canteen closed for the day. The price seemed quite high for accomodation with shared toilet/shower facilities

Hadn't stayed in a hostel for a while, but the facilities were very decent in this one. Had a solo room, although without en-suite facilities. The Eastern European lady behind the front desk was fantastic, and couldn't do enough.

Nothing really. It did exactly what it promised to do.

Cosy and comfortable with an outdoor activity community vibe. The self catering kitchen had everything you needed. We didn’t eat from the menu, but this seemed great value for money with traditional home cooked meals on offer. The communal space was very relaxed - a great place to chill regardless of the purpose of your visit.

nothing to say here. Everything was what I expected.

Almost everything, location was perfect and the staff very understanding and helpful.

The shower head on the ground floor too close to the wall and could not be adjusted, so you had to stand right up next to the wall. Shower room needed updating.
