An ideal location, on the seafront and close to the passenger ferry for Starcross. The room was so much nicer than it appeared in the picture, with a homely feel but also a few quirky and exotic touches in the decor. The bed was supremely comfortable, I enjoyed an excellent night's sleep. The tasty and filling breakfast was freshly cooked, fresh fruit was also provided. What really makes this place though is the owners - such warm and genuine people, their welcome made me feel I was their most special guest!

The external bathroom, although supplied with a bath (my favourite!) was down a few steps from the room.

Great location. Lovely couple who run the b&b, Ash is a lovely helpful owner. He happily upgraded us to a bigger room with a better view of the sea. Breakfast was good, we were already aware of no meat option but egg and beans on toast with all the continental options was enough. This wouldn’t be for everyone but if you’re looking for a good value for money b&b in a great location this is ideal. We will definitely return.

Nothing although my partner loves her tea and the china cups in the room are very small. Everything else was great!

Excellent location and very peaceful. Comfortable bed with a high tog duvet meant I slept very well. The room was better than it looked in the photos and was kept nice and clean. The property is kept warm with the heating on which will be a bonus for many although I had to turn the radiator down and open the window as I prefer a cool room. The shower had excellent pressure which was a welcome surprise. Lovely hosts - it was a pleasure to stay here :)

The room wasn't bad at all and had a good outlook over the sea that was worth paying the extra £10 per night for. Only continental breakfast is served but the range, quality and quantity were good

There was 'no parking' outside the hotel. The promenade, a couple of hundred yards/metres away was free from 18:00 to 09:00 but it was a bit of a pain finding somewhere to leave the car during the day. I eventually found some parking spaces 300m or 400m away, where you could pay £7 for 24hrs.

Husband and wife team went the extra mile to make our stay special. A friendly chat at breakfast, a beautiful room for my wife and me with a second bed for my son who loved the breakfast. Eggs and beans as well as continental style offerings. Parking was easier than I thought. Room was super tidy and clean. Bathroom was simple and clean. Very well organised. We needed some TLC after a long journey and even though we just stayed one night our hosts were fantastic. Thank you.

Lovely, friendly place right on the sea front. Made to feel very welcome and the room was clean and comfortable. I've seen 'quirky' used in reviews of this place and that fits wonderfully. Not a thing matches anything else, but that works really well as it feels like everything has been put together with thought and consideration. The Ash Hotel has a real big heart and I would stay here again if I were in Exmouth

Location is excellent with a view over the estuary especially from upper floors. Our host was welcoming and explained everything very well including breakfast, door keys and free Wi-Fi. The breakfast is staggered with different times available as the room is fairly small and intimate, you end up talking with your fellow guests which is nice.

Due to the nature of the location on the sea front parking is a problem. The street where the hotel is, is a residential street with free parking but is very busy and often there is no parking space available. You can park on the sea front but it is time limited.

Friendly & welcoming people running the hotel who made sure all went smoothly without being intrusive. Breakfast, while not a traditional "full English" was more than what many places will give as a Continental breakfast, and was plenty filling. Room was clean, comfortable and in excellent condition, with a big window which gave lots of natural light for reading.

The seat at the small desk was a bit hard and uncomfortable if used for any time - maybe a thin cushion on it would help.

Room excellently furnished with essential items, including super comfortable bed with two sizes of pillows each. Compact ensuite with new efficient shower. Lovely fluffy towels and toiletries provided. Great selection of tea, coffees and milks to make own hot drinks. Breakfast is served by the host and hostess, with hot options of baked beans and eggs on toast also available, to supplement continental self-service. Sea views superb and accessibility of location brilliant for seashore walks along the promenade, beach or harbour waterfront. Lots of nearby eateries and local facilities for all kinds of activities.

Other guests coming in at silly hours of the morning waking the whole household up, as loudly made their way to their rooms, despite very clear signage asking guests to keep noise to a minimum from 11pm.

I was walking the start of the Jurassic coast and was offered a lovely stamp to put into my Jurassic Passport to mark the start of my journey. The owner was so delightful. The bed super comfortable, extremely clean and a decent size room which had a nice shower. All the toiletries were provided. We both had eggs on toast which was delicious along with all the other extras supplied like cereal, fruit, tea and juices. I'll definitely be back. Oh and the view from the bedroom of the sea was divine. Only a few min walking distance to everything. Free parking was also very easy to find.
