Super location. Reception staff were great and really friendly. Everything really clean. Booked a private room with ensuite. Bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever been in. bathroom was huge
Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. Not organised very well. Although we arrived quite early we were told that they ran out of eggs which I was looking forward to and tea and coffee from canisters absolutely freezing. Asked one of the staff to replace same and he came back with water that was just as cold. After wasting my time making 2 cups of freezing cold tea from the canister I ended up going into the self catering kitchen to make my own from the boiling water. Not a huge deal but just a little annoying as I would have had no problem getting it from there in the first place

The room is clean, quiet and has it’s own sink. There is a separate toilet across the hall and then a toilet and shower room. There are dinner , packed lunch and breakfast options (you pay extra) and secure bike storage on site (shed is locked). There is a warm cosy bar downstairs and a self catering kitchen and nice dining room. The person at reception was really nice. I slept really well as it was nice and quiet. I paid £57 for a single room and it’s been good value for money.
I would of liked a kettle in the room as I love hot drinks.

Nice little hostel in a great location. Cosy comfy rooms and very clean.
Only complaint I have is that there's one staff member manning the place. We ordered dinner I asked for a burger and chips. When the food arrived I couldn't believe what was on the plate. Obviously the staff member forgot about me as she was busy elsehwere and the food was left in the oven. There wasn't one single chip on the plate that wasn't absolute charcoal. And the burger was pretty much the same. Couldn't believe she served me that food with a straight face hahaha. Still ate it though but didn't order anymore food there for the duration of the stay. Other than that it's good value for money and Fort Augustus is spectacular.

The location was perfect, easy walk down to the Loch and the rest of the amenities in the village. There was such a lovely, relaxed atmosphere around the place. So very easy going. Folks wandering around in their socks in the evening and at breakfast just gave it a lovely, homely feel. The room was very spacious - for a family of 4 with all our luggage, we had plenty of space.
Can't fault the place. Some dodgy handwritten cards in the Uno deck in the bar, but can't blame the staff for that!!

I stayed here for one night while travelling to Skye. Great location - just a short walk into the centre of Fort Augustus - with plenty of free parking. Good facilities with meals/ breakfast available and a bar in the property which gave a good opportunity to meet fellow travellers. I stayed in a four bed dormitory which had its own bathroom/ shower - would have been ideal if travelling in a small group. Great value for money and everything was spotlessly clean! Would definitely recommend.

Simple yet comfortable accommodations. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was a spacious. Very convenient location for walking to the town with stores and restaurants and to Loch Ness. The kitchen was fairly well stocked. They had options for ordering food for dinner or breakfast, but we made excellent use of the kitchen facilities. Rooms was unique with a fun name - William Wallace room.
This was the first place I had stayed where we paid for a towel.

Great location being just a five minute walk to the canal. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The hostel was clean and the room was comfortable and the showers lovely and hot. The self-service / self catering kitchen with free tea and coffee was really handy and the paid for Continental breakfast in the morning was great value for money and offered a nice choice.
Nothing, it offers great value for money and we would definitely stay here again.

The hostel was ideal for a stop over, it was very clean and had friendly staff. The location was great for being able to walk into Fort Augustus and Loch Ness. Very quiet as well with a good breakfast selection. We really appreciated the packed lunch option. I managed to accidently book the wrong date and they managed to last minute update the booking with only a couple of weeks notice. The communication was great.
Just that the car park was full when I arrived and I wasn't sure where else I was allowed to park. It would be handy to have a map or postcode to find out where to park when the car park is full.

Very good breakfast. lots of choice to serve self from large jars / plates and lots of it! plenty of tea, coffee and juice to help self to. Staff continually topping up. Large family room with plenty of space for both dog beds. On suite very good with hot water but shower head fixed to ceiling so no hose.
Would prefer a loose hose shower attachment. Very thin duvet but the heater in the room worked brilliantly.

It's budget accommodation, sharing a room with strangers, so expectations have to be managed. All worked, there was somewhere for my bike, breakfast was more than sufficient, and individual electrical sockets for every bed were useful in these charger-dependent days. There is a bar. Free hot drinks. More relaxed than the typical SYHA hostel.
It was a warm night and we needed the window open. There was therefore quite a lot of noise from people staying up later than any in my room. Towels were extra, which I don't remember being stated when I booked. The evening meal, though filling, is fairly basic.
