Right from arrival, the staff could not have been any more helpful or friendly. Superb service for the 2 nights we stayed. Food excellent on the one night we ate there and both breakfasts were excellent; all fresh food and freshly made to perfection. Room was also great; bed was very good and linen of high quality and fresh. Devore nice and a good selection of coffee and teas with fresh milk rather than the UHT tubs usually offered. That alone gets a 10/10 mark from me. I’d definitely recommend and return when I’m the area.

Both my sister and I had very large double rooms. Each had a separate tea / coffee making area. Large ensuites with bath & shower over. Air conditioning in the bedrooms was much appreciated on a very warm evening. Guest fridge available in the corridor, though we weren't aware of this til shortly before we were due to check out. The on-site restaurant had a sizeable & varied menu for our evening meal. We both chose the massaman curry, which was delicious.

The breakfast menu included a large full English cooked breakfast, which was freshly made and very tasty. One cup of tea / coffee was provided at the start of the meal, but it would have been nice to have been offered a refill. There was no fruit juice or cereal available, nor extra toast & marmalade, though toast did come with the cooked breakfast.

Nice, clean and comfortable pub with good selection of beers/cider on draught. Excellent beer garden with heaters/blankets. Stayed one night and was greeted by Connie. Very professional, and made sure we had all the information required for our stay and check-out the next morning. The rooms were very clean with all amenities required for a one night stay. Had a nice meal in the bar area. Thanks again Connie for looking after us, a real life angel :)

Waking up with a hangover!!!

I didn't have much communication with the staff until I was drunk so the following morning I was unable to get out due to all kinds of security that I hadn't learned about - fobs and buttons all over the place.

I couldn't get into the bar area in the morning - fob wasn't working on that door. I'm not sure if breakfast is a thing there or not? I called the hotel number from my mobile and could hear it ringing but I was still trapped. I managed to escape down a fire exit and legged it.

First impressions start when you go into a room and it doesn't disappoint. From the size to the warmth to the incredibly comfortable bed to the complimentary border biscuits and the quiet sleep. The food was really tasty from breakfast to lunch and dinner we experienced really good quality and size portions.

Unfortunately, my daughter felt the sofa bed was hard and couldn't sleep in it. So hubby got the short straw. The waiters are lovely, but it would be great if they could wait to collect food from the table, remove cans that hadn't been emptied, and remove food still eating. very eager and on hand, which isn't bad, but just ask if we're finished or wait until we ask for more drinks before removing cans. It didn't stop us from enjoying our experience, and we made sure we left a nice tip for the service.

Great food, comfy bed, nice touch have board games in the restaurant. Great to have 24hour access with fob despite not 24hr reception. Perfect for the wedding we were attending nearby. The staff were very friendly and happy to help with early check in when we arrived. Lovely weekend away.

We were only supplied 1 set of towels. We were able to request early check in but it couldnt be guarunteed before arrival - please add earlier check in as it would encourage wedding guests to stay with you.

Breakfast was excellent served in the bar. Staff were very friendly. Convenient location for an overnight stop near motorway. Quiet at night. Very clean with comfortable bed/

The air conditioning was very cold. We asked for a control, but was advised that it was centrally controlled. It was only possible to adjust the temperature high on the wall - my husband had to climb on a chair to turn off.

No breakfast - this was subsequently not available after we booked and they charged accordingly. There was tea and coffee facilities in the room which was very welcome in the morning. Staff were very helpful as there was an error with our online booking and we had two rooms. The company refunded the second charge promptly.

Small towels

Friendliness of the staff and he quality of the furnishings and room extras was excellent. Cooked breakfast was superb with fresh chilled products giving a nice countryside edge.

Two minor issues. You couldn’t control the air conditioning unit. The second was there was no choice of any cereals and there was no option for marmalade/Jam on the toast. Minor I know considering.

Location ideal to where we wanted to be near. Staff were excellent. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant. Prices were fair. Beds were really comfortable. We all said we would book again.

The only thing that I didn't like was the exit of the car park,it's on a bad bend. Unfortunately not hotels fault.
