The room was huge and spacious and the bed very very comfortable. I had phoned ahead to notify the hotelier of my expected time of arrival and I was met by a very friendly and welcoming lady. I don't think they usually have a full time staffed reception, so this was a nice and good personal touch.

I can't fault it for anything. The location wasn't as central as I had hoped but I knew that on booking, and was fine with the as directed by the lovely lady walk which did indeed take only 10 minutes.

The location was good, very quiet and no outside noise which was great. Parking in the hotel car park right outside the door in a cul de sac road so no passing traffic. Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Only saw two members of staff briefly but both were very smiley and friendly. I stayed there on my own as attended a training venue nearby and would definitely use again. Felt very safe getting back to the hotel at 9pm because the car was parked so close to the door. Would recommend.

I booked a room at the Hunt Lodge for one night as I was attending an event at Bury Farm Equestrian Centre about 4 miles away. The hotel is has all the basic facilities necessary for a one night stay at an exceptionally reasonable price. The photos of the rooms on the website don't do justice to the very comfortable, spotlessly clean and toasty warm room I stayed in (it was a freezing night in November). Really comfortable bed, very quiet - even though there is a view of the railway station across the very well lit car park. Big TV with all the streaming services. Nice hot shower in the morning. Felt very safe as a single female traveler. If I could suggest an improvement it would be for plumper pillows but, that being said, I slept like a log and would definitely stay there again!

There was nothing I didn't like.

Location is in a very pleasant, historic old part of town, very quiet road backing onto a park. Rooms were immaculately clean - all of us in 4 rooms agreed the cleanliness was excellent. All the basic requirements were available in the room - tea, coffee, extra pillows etc. Rooms were large and spacious. Staff very friendly.

There is no bar or restaurant which we didn’t realise, however the staff directed us to an excellent nearby pub The Ship where guests get a discount on food. The room decor was functional but outdated. The shower was very poor water pressure and actually very dangerous - the temperature was impossible to control from the taps and rapidly came out scalding hot. These should be replaced with electric showers at the very least to ensure safe temperature control. Our bathroom was really tiny - sink was a tiny handbasin. Toilet was functional but wobbly. A large person or anyone with mobility issues would find the bathroom very difficult.

The location was great as well as the price but what tipped this over the edge for me as a great stay is that I had accidentally left my wedding ring in my room. It was then subsequently posted to my address.

Unfortunately the rooms are a bit dated and the sink and bath had minor damage. Also the room was quite cold in the night.

The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of the town. Plenty of excellent cafes & restaurants which is essential as there's no food available at the hotel itself. Parking is available.

Access to car park & hotel is accessed down a narrow lane at back. A sign to indicate the hotel would be helpful.

Front desk was so lovely. They even called us to remind us that 1 group did not check in yet and that check out was closing so we were able to check in for them.

Nothing.

The receptionist was welcoming; ensured we had all our needs. The hotel was near to cafes, supermarket & walks (canal, parks etc).

The room's window frames were rotting & there was a slight step into the ensuite which we kept tripping up on; felt it needed a bit of renovation. Car park accessed (in & out) along a single, narrow passage but plenty of spaces. Enjoyed our stay.

It was SPOTLESSLY clean and good TV channels, also very close to the centre and shops.

It was a little dated, and the bottom of my door didn't reach the carpet so it was very noisy when people were in the hallway coming and going.
