Whole experience was fantastic, the room overlooked Fistral Beach (3rd Flr), the breakfast was to die for, the hotel itself is wonderful, the SPA is an added bonus. All staff we met were excellent, reception, porters, bar, spa, waiters/waitresses, maître de, maintenance, concierge, room cleaning - helpful and always willing to assist or share a chat - these people put the hotel miles above the rest. Well done Headland staff - 10/10

The SPA could get a little crowded in the afternoons. You have to watch your spending as booking things to your room could give you a nasty shock on check out day. £10 for a single G&T - uumm. They add a service charge to every bill and then there's a tip section on it - always worth checking before you sign.

Great location with spectacular views. I love the old world look, feel, and atmosphere of the Headland Hotel. The staff friendly and even a small issue they found a solutions. I will be back and tell my friends and family in Australia.

One or two of the brekky’s were warm and not hot. Serve your eggs on thick sour dough not thin.

Staff were very friendly, room was spacious and bed comfortable.

Our room was sold to us as an ocean view but in reality it overlooked the car park so it was rather disappointing.

The included breakfast was delicious and more than adequate. I good range of options including every type of milk you could think of. I thought the cooked option was expensive at £30 so didn't bother with it. There were 3 different restaurants to choose from, the fine dining option was a special treat. Fantastic location with easy access to the beach or a coastal walk. Plenty of easy access parking.

The room itself was comfy and spacious with great facilities but the view was so poor (small inner courtyard) that the blinds were drawn the whole time. I missed having a view but the real problem was that it was completely impossible to assess what the weather was doing and therefore assess what to wear for the day.

Lovely room. Clean and comfortable. Great facilities and communal areas. Wonderful staff.

The room I booked originally was a cosy room which looked across a space in the middle of the hotel at other hotel windows. The room was very warm and there was a noise from what I'm assuming were extractor fans or something at the bottom of the space the window looked across. I managed to move rooms by paying for an upgrade to a room which looked out the front and was much cooler and quieter. Unfortunately the over bath shower in this room had to be held as the fitting it sat in just angled the shower head down/to the wall and not at an angle you could stand under it

Main restaurant was excellent, staff were all very friendly and the overall hotel is dog friendly. The spa is nice, we enjoyed the outside pools. The beaches on the doorstop are amazing, you have the main beach and all of the little coves which makes a nice evening walk

The second restaurant could use some love and a bit more variation / improvement in the menu, since it's the only dog friendly one, it should be good enough to go to more than once. The building is lovely but it's beginning to feel dated and could use some love modernising and renovating some areas.

Location is fantastic if travelling with dogs or like a walk on the beach before breakfast. The restaurant is very nicely spaced out and the staff are very helpful and courteous. The food is good too! Great modern en suite showers that looked newly done. Breakfasts is def worthy of enjoying slowly - a very nice atmosphere too.

room service we used a lot as we were moving house so using the hotel for luxury and rest. Unfortunately we could not enjoy the hotel to its best ability due to late evenings . The room service staff tried their best with fast and courteous service - the kitchen should keep the room service team on the ball as room service is paramount when staying in Luxury land . ie where the onion chutney is stored or show them how to make a Whizz Works hot Chocolate - 😂 i got a guest complaint to room service because of my dog barking - he barked once when room service knocked on the door to deliver the food - so i am not out of control of my dogs whoever you were!

Everything exceeded our expectations. From the check in staff showing us up to our room, the fabulous views from our room, the personal note left for our wedding anniversary with 2 complimentary cocktail vouchers in the bar. The Aqua club was an added bonus with comfortable loungers outside, stunning views of the sea, and the bar service to enjoy your drinks in the heated Edge Pool or jacuzzi. All the staff were super helpful and well informed and nothing was too much trouble.

The menu at the Renmor restaurant was limited and therefore we didn't eat at the hotel.

The public spaces were outstanding, as was the spa and the choice of places to eat. The setting is unique, being surrounded on one side by the sea and the other by a golf course. The staff were beyond excellent, especially Verity who kept us supplied with hot drinks and Reece, always cheerful and engaging. The smoked salmon for breakfast was the best that I have ever tasted, (I am now a fan of smoked salmon whereas before our stay I was indifferent). The 'overnight' oats with fruit was magnificent. The pizza in The Deck was the best since we lived in Rome many years ago. Our room was spacious and comfortable and we especially enjoyed the humourous friendly notices by the service lifts and the kitchens. All in all, a most friendly and welcoming, unstuffy beautiful hotel deserving of its 5-star rating.

The gym is too small: weights machines weren't wide-ranging enough, (no facility to exercise 'abdomenal crunches,' sit-ups or pectoral muscles). But I realise this is subjective.
