A really genuine warm welcome from the staff, nothing too much trouble. Great breakfast buffet, deluxe double room was freshly decorated and refurbished and very clean, compact but cosy and hotel was full but felt quiet. Dining room lovely with wood burner. Location was great, very busy area for parking. Good value for money and great views. There is a lift and yes, some of the hotel looks a bit dated but for £97 for the night at short notice, I was pleased (doesn't happen often!)
Duvets too small for bed, fortunately a warm evening.

We were booked into one of the older budget rooms so, yes, it was a little tired, outdated and the bathroom (basin and shower) and separate toilet were basically tiny cupboards. But, I knew about this so was expecting it (they are in the process of updating all rooms). Everything was very clean, tidy and comfortable. The bed and pillows were perfect for a great nights sleep. The room had a triple wardrobe with hangers supplied and a huge dresser area with mirror, hairdryer, kettle with plenty of tea, coffee, sugar and milk and six large drawers. There were three side tables in the room, a lamp and a large television. There was a small 'vestibule' area behind the front door of the room, which proved handy for storing sandy shoes and beach items, avoiding the actual bedroom from being covered in sand. Our room had a huge bay window, looking out onto the beach and sea. The staff are warm, welcoming and helpful, were especially good and patient with my very chatty six year old granddaughter. The hotel has a community atmosphere in the evenings with a bar, outdoor seating area and, when we were there, a live singer. The breakfast was lovely, there was plenty of it, with full English, cereals, juices, tea, coffee and fresh fruit on offer. The staff were fantastic with the older visitors, happy to fetch breakfast items for them and bringing them to their tables.
I was a little claustrophobic about the toilet and shower as they are very small and cramped. But, as I said, I know the hotel is in the process of updating all rooms. The lift is small and old, though fully functioning, as long as all the doors on each floor are closed properly. But these issues really weren't that big of a deal.

Bed was clean, comfy, had a couple of good nights sleep, very quiet aswell, think the windows were double glazed. Excellent sea view. All our needs were met, kettle, tea, coffee, little shampoos, small individual wrapped soaps & plastic cups. WiFi connected automatically which was great, tv OK aswell, easy to work. Nice clean, white, soft towels supplied but didn't use as we had brought our own. Just used one. Extra pillows supplied aswell. Phone also in the room aswell to ring reception but never needed to. A very nice welcome & genuine farewell from start to finish from all staff. The room was excellent, surprised by the size to be honest. Will probably return as we had a great stay. Snip the dog enjoyed his treat at reception 🙂👍
Shower: could do with a suction corner unit/hooks in there for hanging shower puffs/ putting soap/shampoo bottles on & stuff

Very friendly, and helpful staff. Lovely buffet breakfast. Great location and views. Comfortable bed and good shower. Great prices for dogs to stay ( didn’t take mine this time) and they are allowed in all areas of hotel. North beach very very clean and very quiet, a quick walk down from the hotel but a very steep walk back up! ( I drove as have a disability… not even 2 mins in the car) a very short drive to south beach ( under 5 mins)
Slight smell of drains in the bathroom. Bar a little pricey. Parking not great, but to be expected ( I have been before so I knew what to expect) could have done with a bedside table. And just a little niggle, cups with no saucers at breakfast, but mugs in the room. I like a good mug of coffee with my breakfast 😆

Room: Deluxe twin. Didn't have a sea view but was probably better being at the back of the hotel having small children in the party, so quieter. Decor was lovely, great shower, beds very comfy. Ample tea & coffee facilities & hairdryer & Freeview TV available. Clean: On check-in I visited the ground floor Ladies' & was impressed; so no surprise that our room was very clean. Over the road & a short walk downhill leads to a playground. Priceless if you have little ones. Booked room only so can't comment on breakfast.
N/A Had a lovely overnight stay & if I come to Scarborough again I will book here.

Our reception was very welcoming and friendly. The room was a good size for a budget room & had a good view of the front. The breakfast was good value. We felt very comfortable.
The area wasn't very celebrious although that's not the hotel's fault. The floor didn't seem very clean in our room; we had dog hairs on our socks (& I noted that dogs were allowed in the hotel). Some of the furniture was damaged & not safe to sit on while the furnishings were a bit tired.

For price we paid thought it was worth what we got breakfast was included and it was a lovely breakfast
When we sat on bed slats on Base broke so we told a member of staff who said it would get sorted yes it did but same thing happened again so told them again but this time no one sorted it my husband had to fix as well as he could without tools so we wouldn't have to sleep on broken bed

Amazing welcoming friendly staff. Nothing was too much bother. The room had an amazing view. Well decorated tidy and a lovely shower.
I would have preferred to be on a table for two for breakfast. Was sat opposite another couple we didn't know. I'm sure if we asked it wouldn't have been a problem but I'd rather not bother the staff as they were busy doing an amazing job. Also missed not having beans as a choice at breakfast.

Hotel position. Friendly staff. Parking permit for onstreet parking to compensate for lack of onsite car park. Lovely sea view from bedroom window
Very limited breakfast for vegetarians and at £11.95 per day quite expensive. Bed was very basic but possibly because we chose a budget room. Need to search for a parking space. No handrail to assist getting in and out of the bath/shower

Only stopped off for 1 night but pleasantly surprised at how fresh and clean the rooms, dining room, bar and entertaining room was. Lovely fresh clean aroma about the place. Staff were very polite, and engaging. Added bonus, entertainment too. . Fantastic singer, Soul. Blues, Mowtown along with Elvis. Well done for putting on entertainment a show not to missed
Nothing to be negative. All positive
