We ordered food downstairs and asked for it in takeaway containers it was vile awful and I’m not at all fussy but the burgers were inedible burnt hard cheap disgusting my hubby had to go out into town buy two pot noodles and we put out chips in it as they were freezing!!! Waste totally of £25, breakfast the next morning equally as tragic Luke warm snotty eggs vile sausage cheap bacon no toast a shambles!!! It was packed no one have a toss

The room was spacious, clean, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was large & complete with all the soaps etc you need. Excellent drinks making facilities, including biscuits which magically re-appeared the next evening! The room was serviced while we were out, a bonus these days! We were on the top floor, absolutely no disturbance from the pub below. Right opposite Southend Central Railway Station & a five minute walk along the pedestrianised High Street to Southend Victoria Railway Station. Five minutes walk if that to the sea front. Highly recommend.

We prefer a removable shower head but that is being really picky, the shower worked very well!

The room is beautifully decorated. The air conditioning was a major plus due to the very hot weather. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from Southend Victoria station. Just off the pedestrianised High Street The pub downstairs was always busy but the noise didn't carry upto the bedrooms If you've been to any other Spoons then you will know the menu. The food was well prepared and delicious. Staff were always friendly and attentive

The tables in the pub were often left with food plates, bottles and glasses on them. Nobody seemed interested in clearing them away. Having said that it isn't unusual for tables to be left in this state. Apart from that the visit was very enjoyable

Never stayed in a spoons hotel so was sort of expecting it to be like the pubs, a bit sticky, very noisy and very very budget. Room was huge with dual aspect windows (no view) ceiling height was insane. Room was comfortable and really big. Wasn't noisy at all, which surprised me and the young girl that checked us in was awesome

Bathroom layout wasn't great but a minor issue. Biggest issue for me was that the bed wasn't comfortable which negated the value for money for me. If I'd had a good night's sleep I'd say this was amazing value for money. Also needed a light near the mirror on dressing table to do makeup

Fantastic room with the things you expect on a seaside holiday cannot fault the amenities in the room was spotlessly clean nice big toilet and bathroom and will certainly stay with your hotels again also in other places in United Kingdom and Ireland one little thing I would like to see know is the price ( £100) I would have nice at the price to have been given a breakfast food and drink voucher when booking still cannot fault your hotel for quality

Already mentioned above a breakfast food and hot drink voucher would have been a great idea when booked you just hand over to the bar staff when come down from the room it has probably been mentioned by most of your guests

The hotel is in a handy location for the town and the bus station and not to far from the sea front. The room was very clean and the also the bathroom . The shower was nice and big. It is handy to be able to go down stairs to the bar to get something to eat and drink.

All was really good.

First time in a Wetherspoons hotel so didn't really know what to expect, but the reviews were good and the price was value for money. Great location and close to everything you need. The rooms were very clean and the twin room (202) was really spacious. We didn't hear any noise. Air con was appreciated. Complimentary tea, coffee and bottles of water. All the staff were great.

I think the hairdryers (travel size) need an update as it took ages to dry my hair. But that was a minor gripe really, next time I will pack my own.

Great location. Step straight out into shopping area. 5 minute walk to the pleasure Beach and Pier. Good size TV, nice bathroom and walk in shower. Air conditioning was a bonus as it was very hot weather.

Unfortunately although we had tea and coffee in our rooms, there wasn't any milk. We' were told they were waiting for a delivery. They did however offer us free use of coffee machine in the pub. Nice gesture but didn't fancy walking up and down 3 flights of stairs to grab a cuppa. Twin beds really soft and a little uncomfortable and duvets very hot.

We were impressed with the choice of drinks in our room and bottled water, well done for that, beats premier inn. Iron and hairdryer all useful to have in the room. Nice to have the pub below, which is huge so plenty of places to sit. Good breakfast served quickly and reasonably priced drinks, as always at Spoons. Friendly staff who were very efficient. The pub is across the road from Southend Central Station, on top of the main shopping area, beach and fun fair at the bottom of the street few minutes walk. Cliffs Pavillion one stop on the train £3 single or £7 cab, handy on way back as trains go from every 6 mins to 20. This was a weekday stay so nice and quiet think it can get a bit more busier on a weekend. Spoons has a garden which we didn't use but looked a good place to chill. Location is brilliant if you want to be near all facilities.

The room was very dark which we understand was because of the windows being long and thin and this room it was in the far corner. But the orange net curtain didn't help, making it darker still and really it was pretty shabby, ripped at the bottom and made the room look cheap compared to the rest of the decor which was pleasant. I'd replace with a decent bit of white net or pull down blinds as it spoils a perfectly nice room and it lost a star because of that.

Our room was really nice. Slightly dark as there was only one smallish window looking down onto the beer garden. The room was also hot but we were in the middle of a heatwave. The bathroom was good. The bed was comfortable and there was tea/coffee making facilities plus biscuits and bottled water replenished daily. The room was clean. There was ironing facilities and a hairdryer.

The window, which was an old fashioned sash type, would not stay open but not to be beaten a strategically placed toilet roll solved that problem.
