Very good location, nice rooms and spa. Helpful staff.

We booked with breakfast included. However we were told at breakfast this only included continental and anything cooked was extra. This is not acceptable - if you book with breakfast would expect a cooked breakfast when paying nearly 400 per night in a 4stat hotel.

Location, views, staff were lovely. Spa facilities were very good

Unfortunately our fresh bedding had multiple dark hairs in it!…& a soiled pillowcase. Housekeeping was very good but did lack hugely on the hard floor surfaces. Tasty food & very accommodating to needs but evening meal & breakfast weren’t overly hot.

A thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Harbour Hotel St Ives, staff friendly but some members of staff in the restaurant area were under stress and had to rush all the time. Possibly under staffed. The spa area was very pleasant.

The one area I did not like was the payment process, I booked via booking.com and paid £2065.00 prior to our stay. On final day in reception payment for the same amount plus extras was requested by the hotel. Pointed out I had already paid. Receptionist gave me an amended bill for the extras which I paid. On arriving home same day checked bank account to find that We had a futher payment of £2065.00 taken from our account. Receptionist contacted said she would rectify immediately, still waiting for the return of our money. The next customer in the queue to leave seemed to have the same problem.

The location is great, spa is very good, room service is excellent

Take note that even if you book the breakfast beforehand you will need to pay extra for hot dishes (e.g. poached eggs or English breakfast), the choice of standard breakfast is mid: just some toasts with ham&cheese, 3-4 options for juice, some yogurts and pastries (everything runs out quickly and you have to query for toasts). Comparing to other hotels where hot dishes are included in breakfast this one was really frustrating. Also, the restaurant staff is not super friendly and could be rude sometimes

Absolutely gorgeous and surprisingly affordable hotel with the best view of the harbor in town, really sweet and helpful staff, lovely rooms and a great spa and deck area. Breakfast was delicious and the patios for evening cocktails or morning coffee are just divine. I had a massage and it was perfection.

It was hot in August, but they graciously provided us with fans and between that and the open windows, we were fine. It’s also a bit of a haul up the hill from the train station, so either get a cab which you have to reserve ahead of time to get you from the train station, or else be sure you have a carry-on sized suitcase. Our big luggage was kind of a nightmare up the steep steps from the train station to the hotel. Of course this is not the hotels fault, lol.

Fabulous, healthy breakfast. I loved the dried fruit, and the oaty cereal.

My room - 208 - was above the crew room with the porthole. Every morning at about 7.30am, the door was slammed every few minutes for about an hour. As a night person, I found this difficult. For about four nights I felt very sleep deprived. On day five I mentioned it to reception, and for my final two days it was slightly better, but still did a couple of slams at 7.30am each day. It wouldn’t be hard to put something round the door handle for that busy hour or so. I wouldn’t recommend room 208 for light sleepers. This was unfortunate as everything else was perfect.

We had a warm welcome. We changed being early to park the car only to be told our room was ready as well. The room was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. There were many extras in the room like robes, slippers, gin and tonic. The location was brilliant for walking around St Ives and the views from our room were of the sea. Binoculars were provided, enabling us to enjoy viewing the seals out our window. We enjoyed a drink in one of the many bar areas, enjoying the hearth, all decorated for Christmas. Dinner was delicious and the wine list was extensive. Service was impressive, especially considering that staff were very busy with a private event while we dined.

I didn't like having to leave at the end of our stay.

The hotel is very smart, clean and modern. The dining room staff were very friendly and professional. The indoor pool was great but the water could have been a little warmer! The breakfast food was lovely and the view was outstanding. The valet parking worked very well. The complimentary gin and tonic was a lovely addition. Fresh milk and ice was easily available on request.

The sea view room only had a sea view if you stood by the window. This could have been fixed if the two sides of the room were switched (ie swap the bed and tv cabinets over) then you would have seen the sea from the bed. The room was a little small and the water pressure in the shower could have been a little stronger. Having a stocked mini fridge is ok, I suppose, but the prices were very high and nothing was chilled.

Room 217 was lovely and clean, would recommend a small guard rail on the window ledge though should any small children stay in this room. Breakfast/meals….all food was very nice in a nice restaurant. The view was lovely to look out of towards the beach etc. Pool/spa was lovely, maybe a few more loungers!?.

The shower/bath could have been better at it was a family room!. Would have been nice to have some kind of light evening entertainment or ie.. (music) on in the bar. Didn’t like the sea gull keep pestering at the room window, amount of gulls in the area! surely need culling back every season!!…

The hotel was great. we stayed in a family room which had 1 room with I think super king bed and 1 room with 2 single beds. The rooms were very comfortable and very clean. Great seats view from one of the rooms. Beds were very comfortable. Good selection for breakfast with an option of hot breakfast at an extra £10. Valet parking was a very nice touch. Great swimming pool, sauna, gym. Gym and swimming pool terrace have a great view of the sea. The centre of St Ives is a nice stroll away. The beach is very close as well as train stop. Both just a short walk down the path. We were very happy with the location. Staff were very attentive and very helpful.

It would have been nice to have a better more varied selection of continental breakfast. It was always one type of cheese and one type of ham during our 5 night stay. Also pastries didn’t seem fresh especially pain au chocolat. They were cold and hard. There was a good selection of cereal for kids. But breakfast in general felt a little cheap and basic. However if you pat £10 extra you can order hot option from the menu which was actually very nice. We did just that a couple of mornings.
