The Hotel is traditionally decorated and set in very pleasant grounds, overlooking some nice scenery. The room which I booked was very comfortable; it was a decent size, with tea & coffee making facilities and had the benefit of a balcony. It was extremely quiet and there was no street noise or noise from other guests. It was also very private and was not over-looked. The inclusive buffet breakfasts were extremely good, with a varied selection from which to choose. The Hotel also had inclusive safe free parking, which is a must. My husband and I would never consider booking anywhere that did not offer such on-site parking facilities. All in all, it met our expectations from what we had viewed online and the Staff were friendly.

Decor looked a little tired, but nothing that could not be rectified with some updating. Apart from that, nothing further occurs.

Lovely hotel , great room with small balcony overlooking garden area. Some initial confusion regarding our booking with our dog but very satisfied with the great customer service with the lovely reception staff. Lovely setting approx 1.5 miles out of town up on the The Wrekin, perfect for walkers and dog walking alike.

As we had our dog then as expected we were seated in the bar area for breakfast. However this was a bit of a walk from the self service area and no trays provided to carry items back to the table so several trips required. I feel some level of service or assistance could be offered here or a small set up in the bar for customers. My husband is registered blind and was unable to collect any items himself and of course one of you always has to stay with the dog. Unsure how a solo traveller with a dog is meant to collect there own breakfast !

Lovely hotel in a great location. Clean comfortable rooms good choice for breakfast. Nice grounds for the dogs to walk in and the woods near by.

Stayed 2 nights 4 days apart. On the first night we were told that could not provide food as the restaurant and bar were fully booked. Not a single guest in the bar so asked again about food. Were told that once they had served the coach party they would take our order. An hour later they said the kitchen was closing so no food. There were only 2 of us! We had driven from London and were starving. Had to send out for food KFC! This was extremely disappointing and very bad management. On the second night ate in the bar, very poor choice of food for a hotel more like a cheap café. Burgers, sausages and mash etc. For this kind of hotel they need to get in a chef who can cook more than basic food.

All the staff were really lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. The beds were comfy. Everywhere was really clean and tidy. Bonus was the food, absolutely delicious, both the 3 courses at dinner and the buffet breakfast in the morning. Hats off to the chef Jamie, who had just done meals for a whole coach tour, and still managed to get our meals done in a reasonable time.

It absolutely didn’t affect our stay, but a few fixtures and fitting needed updating, like the lights. However, we could see that the hotel is slowly being renovated, and appreciate that they can’t do everything at once.

Beautiful location near the Wreakin, quiet, rural. Great value for money. Large garden room with balcony overlooking garden, and a bonus with 3 chairs in the room; most places only provide one and we get fed up of sitting on beds. Comfortable beds, large and recently redecorated ensuite. Good buffet hot breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff. Recycling bins in corridor, very impressive. We plan to stay there again as it was so lovely, we had to rush off in the morning as were attending a funeral.

Only a few little niggles. Initially lift didn't work from reception to first floor but was sorted by staff quickly. Bathroom door didn't close properly, needs a bit of wood shaving off it. Bathroom had obviously just been redone. Poor tv reception but understandable due to location; ours is the same. I've become good at twiddling inside aerials.

Recently internally decorated to good standard and clean/comfortable. Friendly staff.

Poor WiFi signal about 2.5Mb download rate at best and thus limited if streaming, especially when working TV channels are also limited. Breakfast buffet style and, although reasonable choice, if not there at opening time the food was soon going cold. Would prefer to order when sitting down and be cooked fresh and hot. Be aware of 1 way road system whereby cars travel in 1 direction and bikes in the other although no bikes but plenty of walkers making use of cycle lane. Cars have a long detour depending on the intended direction, arriving or departing.

The property was beautifully accomplished with gorgeous features and a stunning location. The interior was grand with comfortable furniture with a welcoming atmosphere. Our bedroom had a balcony which overlooked the lake and we spent the evening sat outside looking at the stunning grounds

Can’t say we stayed long enough to notice anything really bad. The only things we found odd was that on the booking of the room we stated that we had an infant with us thinking that there may have been a cot to place him in for bedtime but it was just a double and single bed in the room. Also, the single bed was right up against the radiator on the wall. The radiator stuck out above the mattress by about 2 inches, quite dangerous if you caught yourself on it and definitely wasn’t suitable for little man to sleep there.

The location of this hotel is amazing. Set in beautiful countryside. It had a lovely balcony and lots of storage. It was nice to sleep with the balcony door open. The staff were all lovely also. The lift had broken down, but the receptionist offered help to carry my bags. This was a work visit, so I pretty much stayed in my room. But my partner and I shall come back another time. I was lucky enough to have a smart tv, and could log in to my Netflix account. The room was absolutely spotless also.

Move the motorway to somewhere else! Lol!

Lovely room with balcony. Nice bathroom. Comfortable lounge area. Nice breakfast. Big carpark, plenty of space. Lots of walks nearby. Loved watching the birds flying round back and forth to their nests from the balcony.

Overcharging for a dog. Website says £10 per dog per night. Charged £30 for 1 night. Asked receptionist if there had been a mistake and was told hotel had new owners that hadn't updated the website. Is rather a lot of money for a dog especially as we only paid £64 for bed and breakfast ourselves. I asked if the dog got a full English as well. No water bowls offered for the dog. Good job we take our own. The dog was allowed in the lounge area. Mattress on bed was hard. A little uncomfortable.

The location is perfect. Very peaceful and relaxing. Well signposted and plenty of free parking. Had a 10% discount which made it affordable for us. Felt we had good value for money which can be rare these days! Our double room was spacious with 2 comfy chairs. Water temperature and pressure was good for bath. It had a dressing table with mirror and plug for hairdryer which is often lacking in budget priced accommodation. Loved having a balcony overlooking the pond. Enjoyed well kept grounds and furniture on sunny patio. Cooked breakfast was delicious. Appreciated the grapefruit, prunes and fruit juice too. There were also cereals provided.

Slight lack of attention to detail in cleaning. Towel rail not polished. Balcony needed sweeping, otherwise cleanliness was good. Evening meal - gammon dish was lacking vegetables. It was not a balanced diet. Very tasty what we did have though. Wi fi was intermittent T V reception not good. Weather was lovely when we were there, so refreshing to forget technology and relax in wonderful surroundings. Could be frustrating though if there for work or weather was bad.
