Beautiful old restored house with a lovely bedroom, overlooking Plaza Zabala, close to the Buenos Aires ferry terminal. A very comfortable bed & a themed room with tasteful antique football memorabilia - ours was based on an Uruguayan footballer who played in the first ever World Cup winning team in 1930 - priceless. Breakfast was excellent, including the best muesli I have ever had in my life! The staff were magnificent - kind, helpful, intelligent, good-humoured & genuinely warm people who really made you feel comfortable & welcome. There was a beautiful library to relax in & a magnificent view of the sun setting in the Rio Plata.

Nothing - it was just perfect.

Very tastefully decorated - everything was beautifully done, including the porcelain in China at breakfast. The beds were very comfortable, the quality of the towels were amazing. The shampoo and body lotion was great. It was absolutely a beautiful hotel. The staff were extremely welcoming, helpful, friendly, really great state. I only regret we didn’t have more time so we could enjoy it more. Breakfast was incredibly fresh varied and very high-quality products. Definitely the best breakfast we had in Uruguay . The hotel is located in the old town of the city where there’s a lot of culture, beautiful architecture, and great Wine Bar called VITIS. We walked around at night and had no problem and really enjoyed the authentic feel of this historical Neighbourhood.

There is nothing we can say about this.

Great location to see all of Cuidad Vieja. Staff go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. Very nice breakfast included. There is a library sitting area where you can relax and beautiful rooftop terrace. Each room is named and styled for a historical Uruguayan figure and has information about them in the room.

A lot of the shops and restaurants in Cuidad Vieja are not open in the evenings, plan accordingly. We walked or took Uber to places outside of the Cuidad Vieja each evening.

Nearly everything about this hotel is wonderful. The staff was extremely helpful, the room was comfortable and quiet, the breakfast was very good. The location is good, too, just a 10-minute walk from the pier where the ferry from Buenos Aires docks. The hotel faces a charming little public square with big trees.

At this price, I would've expected a coffee-maker in the room, although that wasn't a big deal. The only real weakness is that the wi-fi wasn't very good.

Beautiful and unique hotel, excellent location, very helpful staff. Room was huge with air con/heating. Terrace was lovely - great views as was the library. Very enjoyable breakfast - really enjoyed our stay!

No tea/coffee making facilities in room and no iron/ironing board, otherwise exceptional

Breakfast was superb, especially the omelette which was one of the best I have had so far in Uruguay. Roxanna and Manuel were excellent hosts and very knowledgeable about Montevideo and Uruguay. They made our stay memorable.

It is very sad but so many buildings are covered in graffiti. Seems this is a common problem not only in Montevideo but most of the big cities in South America.

We came here on our honeymoon, and our so our stay started out with them messaging us about giving us a great room with a balcony overlooking the nearby park. So kind. Then upon arrival, the gentleman who greeted us was incredibly kind and hospitable, helping with parking and bags. We arrived exhausted and asked where we could get an espresso. He was kind enough to offer us nearby coffee shop recommendations as well as offer to make them for us in the hotel - we opted for this route and they were delicious. The breakfast was also out of this world - they’ll do made to order eggs that were fantastic. We watched the sunset over the water and then had a cocktail in the library before heading out to dinner. it was pretty magical, and all close to the port for our early morning departure. It was a perfect stay. We had one small issue with the room I normally wouldn’t even mention, except to commend the staff on the way they handled it. They took care of the issue swiftly and while we were out at dinner so as to not disturb us.

The room was very nice (including nice balcony) and the whole hotel is very pretty and comfortable. The location is very good, the breakfast as well. The best of this hotel are the 2 gentleman Enmanuel and Nelson, who were great and helped us with so many nice recommendations and reservations!

it would be nice if the jacuzzi on the rooftop could be repaired, and if the balcony could have some more convenient chairs. On our last day, we had an early leave and it would have been nice if breakfast would have been better prepared. furthermore all was perfect!

We loved the look of the hotel, very pretty!

There was no coffee machine or kettle to make coffee or heat up water in our room. We did not like the fact that the hotel was locked (we assume for safety) and had to ring the bell to enter every time we went out.

All the staff we dealt with were very friendly and professional and assisted us superbly in any way we asked, eg. Renting a car

This is an old historical building which is beautifully furnished accordingly with old pieces. This is what we were expecting and loved it. If you want a big modern hotel go elsewhere.
