Absolutely wonderful front desk staff noticed I was traveling alone with my twins and offered a complimentary upgrade to a larger suite so that we could rest adequately before getting back on the road. Her kindness and consideration really meant a lot to me during a rough season for our family. The kids absolutely loved the pool and hot tub and the to-go breakfast options were fantastic!

There was a dead palmetto bug in the adjunct room and the rooms didn’t feel particularly clean.

The location was convenient and close to our destination.

When we travel, I usually look for Holiday Inn Expresses because I can count on their consistent quality. This hotel was no disappointment in that it was very clean, location was excellent and staff very personable. Having said that, and in answering your question as to what may have fallen short, there were very minor issues and they were both located in the bathroom. The shower bar supporting the curtain was barely hanging in there and the faucet felt like it was only being held in by the massive amount of applied calk. I would definitely consider this hotel again for our next trip to Fort Payne though.

The staff was lovely. The room was clean and quiet, even though they’re doing some upgrades/renovations. The bed was very comfortable. The shower is amazing! The breakfast was very, very good. They even have an egg white veggie omelet, which was perfect for my husband’s dietary needs.

I wish there was an indoor pool.

We stopped for the night on our way to North Georgia. The hotel is right off of the highway. We got in very late...about 12:30 a.m. The front desk clerk was friendly and efficient and the parking area was well lit. The air conditioning was on in our room and it was nicely chilled. (This is not a given. Often rooms are hot and stuffy when we arrive, so this was a pleasant surprise. ) The room was clean and the bed and linens were cool and comfortable. The room was also quite spacious and we had plenty of room for our mountain bikes. Shower pressure was great and the bathroom was a good size.

I was a little disappointed with breakfast. Although it was much better than what has been offered at most hotels lately, it wasn't great. The bacon was very fatty and not very crisp. Scrambled eggs were hot, but not much flavor. They did have very delicious cinnamon rolls and Chobani Greek yogurt which I appreciated.

Breakfast was great. Especially loved the pancake maker, never saw that before. Does everyone of your hotels have these? Bed was comfy, pillows comfy. A great stay.

The front desk person took way too long to check people in. She also let me wait over 30 minutes to call for backup. And that was only because the line behind me was 3 more check ins.

I like the comfortable clean bed. They have amenities for both people traveling for work and leisure. The breakfast area provided healthy options too.

Price was expensive. I spent almost 200 bucks for a night of stay during Christmas.

The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.

Housekeeping did not clean my room until after 6PM either day.

The location was great. Rooms were super comfortable and clean. It's a nice place to stay.

I didn't care much for the manager laughing at us when we tried to find out why my card was charged in full even though we paid upon booking. Being charged twice is apparently a hilarious joke to her. Mistakes happen but there's no reason to be a condescending smart alec.

Convenient location

Unable to set the room temperature warmer. The night manager came and made the setting for us but the room stayed at 68 degrees rather than low 70s we had hoped for. However, this was a minor thing.

The room was very clean and quiet. plenty of parking. The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to be helpful.

The back way in had a very danky smell, almost like urine but it was directly by the swimming pool so that may have been the source. Folks coming in and out wet can not be helped by the hotel.
