The location of this hotel was the primary reason for booking, and it was perfect for what we needed! Just about a 10 minute walk to Ocean Ave with a little bit of an uphill walk back, but super convenient. We also loved having the breakfast provided because it meant that we didn't have to rush out anywhere in the morning. The rooms were spacious, clean, and provided everything that we needed.

The only thing we didn't like was that there was no AC, but that is pretty normal for hotels in the area. It just happened to be unusually warm while we were there. Luckily the hotel provided fans in each room and we slept with the windows open.

First of all, Rudy at the reception desk was very helpful, friendly, and informative about the area and attractions. Second, the room was clean and offered everything we needed. Third, the public spa area was clean and comfortable. The spa was just the right temperature, and there were towels for us to use there. Lastly, the parking lot and overflow lot were a nice bonus.

The room was very stuffy and warm. The fan helped a little, but it was not cool enough. We will have to come back in the fall when it isn't as warm out. I was looking forward to the breakfast basket because of the reviews, but I was disappointed in the quality and offerings. I assume there is no kitchen to prepare a meal, so I understand the choices are limited. Local pastries/bread and jams would be nice, as well as a carafe of local coffee. We enjoyed the peaches each day, though!

Great location, a bit of a trek up the hill from the Main Street but generally easy access. We loved the jacuzzi/fireplace area - nice and clean and newly remodeled, also a convenient water & ice dispenser right there. The daily breakfast delivery in vintage wooden baskets was a really nice touch! Fresh, tasty selections and saved us $30pp on a typical restaurant breakfast. Housekeeping did a great job keeping the room clean and tidy. The owners were super friendly and helpful - they took time to chat with us at the nightly complimentary wine & cheese happy hour - another nice touch!

Our room could have used some updating, especially the bathroom area and some of the furniture which seemed a little 1990s.

Everything was great, the room was excellent, towels lovely and soft, bed large and firm, super clean and well appointed. The continental breakfast was provided in a nice basket to the door and I really enjoyed it on the outdoor patio, eggs, pastry, fruit and juice. Close to downtown Carmel, a mile from the sea. There was a cheese and wine from 4-6 which was very pleasant again I ate it on the patio. Nice fire pit and heaters etc, hot tub but I didn’t use it but looked hot and clean. everywhere was super clean and well maintained. Honestly, a perfect one night stay for me but would have been happy to stay longer.

Stayed in a king, ocean view room. It was upstairs with a modest sized balcony (but it was chilly so we didn't use it anyway). The room was spacious, comfortable and well decorated. Housekeeping excellent, ditto the front desk. We decided to stay an extra day - no problem. The hotel is on the northeast corner of the village, uphill one block at a minimum and three or four from Ocean, the main east-west street. The grade up for the two of us octogenarians wasn't tough for younger people, it wouldn't even be much of a warm-up for that late afternoon glass of wine. Oh, and Keurig machines in the room with two free cups a day. There's a market down Junipero that sells 10-box packages if you want more.

Staff was very friendly and helpful with our needs or requests. The fire pit/place with lounging area was cozy and perfect place to enjoy the complimentary happy hour treats. The breakfast came in a nice picnic basket with a good variety of choices. The location was a good distance from the regular traffic but close enough to walk to restaurants or stores. The room was spacious, clean and cozy with the touch of the fireplace.

Wish they had more parking spaces, minor situation. The staff gladly directs you to alternative spots though

I loved how we were served breakfast though I wish we were given the option of breakfast items. When we checked in we were asked if we had dietary restrictions, which we do not, though was not asked if we had certain preferences for our continental breakfast. 2 out of 3 of us only ate the breakfast for half the stay because didn’t like everything that was served. Please think about having guest fill out options on what they want served in their breakfast baskets for each morning.

Great location, about a 2 min walk to downtown Carmel. The walk is downhill which means when walking back it is all uphill, this wasn't a problem for us but would be nice to know for possible older or handicapped people. The room itself was great, really big for 2 people and the spa tub fit both of us very comfortably. the breakfast basket was a nice touch and was different each day which was really cool.

The mural on the wall is a little dated, not really a complaint. Was just trying to think of something to fill out here lol

We enjoyed the spa and fire pit outdoors , refillable water station was handy. Location is amazing - walking distance to all nice restaurants. Room is beautiful and overall it was a great last stop of our 3 weeks US trip! Special thanks to the lady at reception on Saturday 23/09 (sorry didn’t note the name). When we asked about early check out process the next day, she took care of our breakfast even though we didn’t specifically ask for it but she wanted to make sure we are not hungry before our early morning road trip to San Francisco :) All the cleaning ladies were very friendly as well, always smiling

Room adequate, bit crowded with furnishings. Location not the best, at top of hill, limited tight parking if hotel would be full. Breakfast basket more than adequate. Loads of construction all over Carmel, no street parking in town and it was off month of January. Could not imagine how it would be in busier season

Crowded tight streets, construction trucks everywhere, extremely poor lighting when driving in dark and risky with early morning joggers during dark. Would not recommend driving unless daylight
