The room was lovely and big. It had a fridge and a microwave, a nice big bathroom. And it was clean. The bed was comfy - and big! There was plenty of parking too. It was well placed for driving over the Golden Gate Bridge as well the waterfront area and the Ghiradelli Square.

Only very minor things really. The bathroom light comes on automatically when you go in and there seemed to be no way to disable it. Not great for those middle of the night wees! The bedding was a duvet sandwiched between two sheets! A duvet in a duvet cover would be better. The main drawback of this hotel is that it is on a busy junction so the traffic noise is constant. And the locals sound like they drag race up and down every night which isn’t ideal.

The location is great. Plenty of food and attractions available within walking distance.

An older property but the room we had has been remodeled and was great for the value.

I was very pleasantly pleased with the renovation of this older property. It was clean and comfortable. We only stayed one night, but I would certainly have stayed longer, if able. There is an elevator to the second floor, which is great. We did end up taking an Uber to Fisherman's Wharf which took about 20 minutes. Even though we had a car, I preferred to leave it parked. There are limited parking places, but we arrived mid-afternoon and parked without issue. We liked the location on the famous Lombard Street, but not too close to all of the tourist traps.

We noticed that there is street noise which can occasionally get a bit loud. However, it was not a problem for us. Photos of the renovated hotel have not been updated on all sites, and really should be. This is a great place for the money, and the old photos do not reflect that.

What I like about the property was the location to everything. We were able to do a lot of things by walking there. I also really appreciated the availability of parking spaces on the property. Other things we enjoyed was the spaciousness of the room and bathroom. I believe the rooms have been remodeled so they are really nice. The staff is also very friendly and provided us with early check-in.

The only downside, according to my youngest son, is the noise. Since the property is on Lombard street, it is noisy and you can clearly hear it on the room. I didn’t mind the noise. It would not deter me from staying here again in the future.

Wow! We were blown away by Francisco Bay Inn. We went in with apprehension due to historic lower reviews, but is clear they’ve turned this place around. The rooms look brand new, and rival some of the best resort rooms we’ve had across the globe. Parking was easy (and free), and the staff super friendly. The beds were really comfortable and everywhere was spotless, with maids cleaning the rooms and making the beds each day without having to ask. So much more affordable than surrounding hotels and in a great location. If you haven’t booked here then you’ve made a mistake!

We stayed at the back of the hotel so traffic didn’t bother us, but the door wasn’t soundproof so can imagine the front will be a bit louder. To be honest we found the AC noise drowned out anything that made it through the walls

Lots to like about this property. Good sized room with comfortable beds, a big bathroom with thoughtful touches such as a weighted shower curtain, hooks for towels within easy reach of the shower/bath, a rubber mat for the bath to help prevent falls, and energy saving lighting. Room numbers on the outside of each door were also provided in Braille. Room had air conditioning, a microwave and refrigerator, and a coffee maker. Also a box of tissues! Our room was on the 2nd floor overlooking Lombard Street, but traffic noise wasn’t disturbing. Property is a short Uber drive away from Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf. Easy access to parking lot from Lombard Street. There is a combination of under cover and open air parking. We were pleased to see that we didn’t need to carry our bags upstairs. There is an elevator, but it is very small!

My only criticism was that there was only one chair in the room (seems to be the norm in most places), but our room did have a small bench under the window that made a great window seat.

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting a lot from the this hotel as the price was cheap. How wrong I was. I great hotel. Very close to everything. All the top spots are 20 minutes walk away. Very clean, extremely friendly and helpful staff. There was ample free car parking. If you’re in San Francisco for a few days you cannot go wrong with this place.

I wouldn’t say I didn’t dislike it, but of course there’s a little noise at night, it’s downtown San Francisco!!!!!! But it’s not bad noise at all, the odd car or police car. Nothing that will keep you up.

Great location for visiting/accessing all of the sights and sounds of San Francisco. Parking included. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, large room with complimentary toiletries and hot drinks and daily housekeeping. Lots of cafes and restaurants close by with the added bonus of a view of the Golden Gate Bridge from the 2nd floor landing.

The hotel is located on a busy crossroads and traffic was noisy until late at night and from early in the morning. The air conditioning was noisy but very efficient so we did not need it on for long periods.
