Even though there was an issue at checkin. The guy did his best to correct the situation. It was during renovations and our room was very clean. The bottom level was more cold and the heater kept going on and off all night. I have noticed more that I need ear plugs in hotels and could hear a lot. I am a light sleeper and had to put ear plugs in due to the noise in the hallway. Friendly and clean. We would stay here again. The tubing hill is across the street. Next time we will have to go there. Leavdville people are super nice and welcoming.

I could hear people coming in after the bars closed. It wasn't the hotel's fault.

The room was clean and comfortable, and what I expected from a budget hotel. I appreciate the in-room refrigerator and microwave. The heater works well; the room heated up quickly after I came back from my run soaking and cold. The location is perfect if you're coming to Leadville to use the trail system.

The room I was in was pretty noisy: Noise in the hallways and noise from upstairs. There isn't a lot to the breakfast. I hoped for some granola or fruit. The parking lot was chaotic and walkways slippery but I'm not sure that a lot can be done about that during the winter.

Intentionally chose this property after reading all the reviews— I highly respect an establishment that is not afraid to acknowledge their shortcomings, but also be real with customers who are being extra. Love the “let us know when you go” for hiking. As a Search and Rescue member who lost a friend to the wilderness, I deeply respect this offering the Rodeway gives to the people who stay there. The property was quiet, comfortable, and affordable. If you are going to a hotel to “hang out” in the hotel and have all your vacation dreams met— maybe reassess your definition of vacation first, and then chose another place to stay. If you are looking for a cozy sleep spot and affordable place close to town, I highly suggest Rodeway.

The first morning of the included breakfast was good. The ladies there on duty were quick to be sure there was plenty of everything available. The second morning entirely different. The gentleman on duty on the 2nd morning apparently set up the breakfast and quickly went to sleep in the office. We were there for breakfast at 7:15 and there was little available to eat. When we checked out at 8:15 he was still asleep. We were at this location a year ago and the same thing occurred. It certainly won't keep us from going back there again but there were several upset guests.

Room was clean, comfortable.

Only 2 of the electrical outlets worked, and one of them was in the bathroom! The desk light had 2 outlets, only one worked. The light between the beds had 2 outlets, neither worked. We are photographers and need to download images to computers at night, very difficult due to non-working outlets. The microwave, TV, refrigerator were all plugged into a power strip behind the dresser/TV stand. Running the microwave when the refrigerator cycled would trip the breaker on the power strip. I also heard another guest telling the front desk that they had blowen a fuse trying to run the microwave. Need to upgrade the electrical before there is a fire.

Very clean and comfortable. Bathroom towels very nice. Excellent price, especially including breakfast (delicious waffles!) . Would stay here again. I also liked the little reminder signs around the property reminding guests to be respectful of other guests (such as with ice machine, etc.)

Would have liked a little fresh fruit of any kind with the breakfast.

Keep in mind this is an inn, not an hotel. And it is placed about a mile outside Leadville, which is not the biggest city or close to one. If you set your expectations right, you will find the place and the conditions quite good. We used it for overnight stays during our ski trip, so we had limited interactions with the place and the staff during the day, but what we had was exactly what was expected - your regular facilities for a normal low scale inn and friendly/helpful staff. We did have a few requests during our stay, for which the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. Overall, I would use this place again, the only real(minor for us) inconvenience being the distance to the Copper Mountain ski resort (35 mins drive one way with the winter conditions we had). With the right price, we would prefer something closer.

The breakfast experience was a little bit lacking. Not in what was offered per se, but the availability of items. Some days there was not enough batter for waffles, some days not enough utensils, some days not enough cups etc. - just random stuff. Some times we were early in the breakfast area, some days we were late, so it is not that we were always late and missing out on stuff. I think it is just a matter of being short on staff. We eventually figured out we could find some (not all) of the things stored in the cabinets and we would just help ourselves.

The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. It was a nice change to have some books to read from the hotel library. There is plenty of parking and it was quiet.

The breakfast room was very small but other guests chatted so it was breakfast with a friendly atmosphere.

Not too many places to stay in Leadville. Some we stayed here. Half of the city power outage during the night put a damper on the breakfast. Breakfast room was pitch black. I know it was not hotels fault, but they had no plan B for breakfast that could not be served do to power outage.

This location works fantastic for me. Reasonably close to the trails and parks I want to visit, yet far enough that the room rates are much more reasonable. The room was very clean and neat! The Manager worked with me to alter my reservation to accommodate a late change in plans. 👍

Very slippery ice in parking lot. Walking there took extra care.
