The person at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, he went out of his way to make us feel welcome. We stayed in two other significantly more expensive properties on this trip, and the bed and linens here were the most comfortable of all of them. With the AC working well and the warm comforters/duvets, we got the best night's sleep on our trip. We also were able to get a room on the ground floor which made it easy with our suitcases. There was a cold water dispenser by the front office.
Breakfast was basic, with cold boiled eggs and yogurt and some fresh fruit (bananas). The microwave was not plugged in and had to be moved somewhere else so we could plug it in. The facility looks a bit ragged from outside though we were pleasantly surprised after we checked in.

I love the balconies in the room. Being from Texas we really enjoyed the cool air instead of being in a stuffy room. It wasn't far from all of the restaurants and shopping. I walked over to the Coyote Bar which had live music. There is a liquor store within walking distance as well. We enjoyed it so much, we stayed again the night before driving back home to Texas. It was a comfortable bed.
The microwave turntable didn't work well in both of the rooms we stayed in. For the money though, I'm not complaining.

Staff was great, when we left we forgot a backpack, they called until they were able to reach us and we were able to come back and get it (rather than realizing it at home 6 hrs away!). Breakfast was fine, typical cereal, fruit, oatmeal, breads, yogurt and boiled eggs. Rooms are small, nothing fancy but very clean. Mattress was comfortable which is key and the location was perfect, 5 min from downtown Pagosa, yet quiet and away from the hubbub! Great value for the money!
I like scrambled eggs over boiled… but that’s about it

The location was conveniently just off the main highway through town -- convenient for a stop-over. The room was big enough for a table and a couple of chairs (along with the beds). The breakfast was good as a purely "continental" breakfast, with a reasonably-extensive selection of hot & cold drinks, fresh fruits, breakfast cereals, and bread items.
The breakfast could have included hot items. Our mattress was a bit sagged as if starting to show some age.

I work at Best Western Downtown Phoenix, and was really impressed with the Alpine Inn. I highly recommend it. When we arrived, we were assigned a room on the second floor so we asked if there was an elevator. The front desk employee asked us if we would prefer a first floor room, and we are grateful for that. The room was spotlessly clean, everything was functional. I was very impressed and we will return next week on our way back to Phoenix.

On our motorcycle trip from Richmond, Virginia to the Grand Canyon and back, we are enjoying the smaller, non-corporate family owned hotels. The Alpine Inn of Pagosa Springs is just that. We arrived early and Sophie was eager to accommodate. With a smile, she had us booked into #213 in a jiffy. The room was clean and bright after opening the curtains. The balcony is tiny, but a balcony nonetheless, overlooking the parking lot, mountains off to the distant. Bathroom was clean, with hot water and strong pressure. In the shower. The beds were a tad springy, soft. Pillows about medium. A continental breakfast is offered with breads, oatmeal, cereals and juices. The location was great. We needed to do laundry and hit Walmart and we were close to both. If you are looking for fancy, the Alpine Inn probably won't do it for you. If you want a great place to sleep, in a great location, for a decent price, this is it!

We liked how easy it is to get everywhere from the hotel. We were able to check in early which was nice! We were only there to sleep basically and shower, but had a good stay. The gentleman that checked us in was very friendly and helpful. We didn’t have the breakfast, but looked to be mainly pastries and cereal. We ended up getting breakfast at 2 Chicks and A Hippie and it was great!
I don’t have any bad things to say. I personally didn’t like the bed, it was pretty hard and the pillows weren’t the greatest, but I was too tired to care and fell asleep immediately. We had a great stay for the one night we were in town!

Our room was clean and well kept up. It was quiet at night and the in room AC kept it comfortable in the 90 degree heat. The owners were helpful, made recommendations for restaurants and personally greeted us every morning. The breakfast wasn't fancy, but it was just what we needed to start off the day. The wifi was better than I have at home!
We're not morning people, so later breakfast time would have been appreciated. There was nothing fancy about the room, but we spent very little time there, so it was exactly what we needed.

The rooms were spotless, everything worked, and the people at the front desk were very helpful. We were so happy with the Alpine Inn on our way to Bailey that we stayed there on our way home to Phoenix. Breakfast was wonderful, real dishes and flatware instead of paper plates and plastic. Coffee was fresh, bagels were soft, front desk person was exceptionally attentive.
Nothing to dislike. Everything was perfect, like staying at a four diamond hotel.

Quaint and inviting place that was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Loved it! Good breakfast options with ceramic dishes! Beds comfy. The gentleman running the place was very welcoming and accommodating. Reasonable room rate.
In the middle of the night the room's heating/ cooling unit became disruptive.
