The aqua lodges were exactly as pictured with the added bonus of super cool (easily adjustable) air con. The beds were very comfy and we had everything we needed- particularly with regards to the kitchen which included a full fridge and freezer. It was very easy to cook our own meal. The provided soap and shampoo (need to use these as they are environmentally friendly) were great and smelled wonderful. The lodges were compact but this was as expected and didn’t take away from our comfort. There was plenty of storage for clothes (full wardrobe and two dressers) and lots of storage space under the beds for suitcases, shoes etc. the beds were very comfortable and the area was very quiet. There is some noise from the airport, this didn’t disturb us but may if your a light sleeper and want a long lie in in the morning. The location was perfect. The balcony on the water was great, the pool was a great size, the private beach was stunning. Whilst no access to the water from the beach, it was the perfect spot to watch the sunset- we watched a seriously beautiful sunset! We saw many different types of fish, bats in the evening, and even a small raccoon! It was very memorable. The added bonus of the kayaks was great! There were doubles and singles and plenty of each. We didn’t have a problem or need to wait to use them. Once on the water, the sea was still and you could see ocean for miles. Locally there was everything you could need within driving distance (Publix, IHOP, fast food, restaurants) and a great base to get to key west (one hour) and key largo (one hour). We only met the staff in check in (as didn’t need any other help) but he was really friendly and helpful. They also have ice for $3 a huge bag which was incredibly helpful. The other people we met on the site were super friendly, and the kids made friends with other kids.

As with all places, remember to pack bug spray. We weren’t eaten alive by any means (and didn’t see any mosquitoes when on the water balcony) but did get a few nasty bites when watching the sunset on the beach.

The view from boat lodge balcony is amazing ! So peaceful And relaxing , quiet there . We are a family of 4 with older teens , enough space for us on the boat , 2 bedrooms & 1 tren had the loft space bedroom , he loved sleeping up there , even though as expected he couldn't stand up , but had plenty of floor space to crawl around ! Small but loveky pool just next to the lodges, perfectly adequate for the few users . Walk to sunset point only a few mins and amazing sunsets Free kayak hire was an added bonus. RV parking is a small area which was good as Coconut Cay is A small size & quiet , peaceful place to stay. A few good places to eat , walked to Brutus seafood 7 mins , Then Herbies 12 mins , Isla Tacos a but further 15 mins but cheap tacos & delicious .

The aqua lodge was the perfect unique stay in the keys. It seemed brand new and was super clean. The layout was perfect and very comfortable. Plenty of space for a family of four. I loved the sliders to the back deck with a table and chairs and the most relaxing view of the water/canal. The living room and kitchen area were a very nice size and the beds were comfortable. The place was very nicely decorated. We loved our time there and hope to visit again.

We were in lodge #2 which is actually the first lodge (there is no #1). At first I was happy to be on the end because it meant only 1 set of neighbors. But, The lodge sits very close to the road and unfortunately they were doing road construction during our stay. However, with that being said, inside the lodge and even on the back deck the noise was pretty muffled. The other lodges make their way into the resort more and are blocked by the office trailer so they are not as close to the road.

We loved that it was unique! My daughter loved the idea of being on a boat and staying in a loft. I loved the view of the lagoon from the aft deck. The beds were very comfortable. There were 2 full bedrooms, a loft, and livingroom with kitchenette and pullout couch. Very spacious. Assigned parking was close and easy. The pool was lovely. I highly recommend a stay!

There wasn't much we did NOT like. There is an airport next door so during the day there was some minor air traffic noise. The lodges do float so they rock; in a storm they rock more. If you get seasick or are unstable on your feet this probably isn't a good option for lodging. When it rains, especially in a downpour, it can be suprisingly loud, especially in the loft. None of these things would prevent us from renting again!

We absolutely loved this property! The house boats were perfect. Beds comfortable, kitchen stocked with everything you need. They look brand new and we’re so clean. The hair and body products had the best smell ever. We loved the little deck on the back of the house boat. Literally you are in the water front and center. Way better than any hotel balcony! The pool was great very clean overlooking the water all the furniture looked brand new and well maintained. The grills and bbq area awesome. The RV section is so nice as well. Nice walk to a private little beach with great views. Nice furniture to site on overlooking the ocean. Cleanest property ever. Loved the kayaks! Great touch! We will definitely be back!

The uniqueness of the aqua lodges. They were very well designed and very well fitted out. The view over the lake/sea inlet was lovely to watch from the verandah, seeing the boats coming in and out from sea. the pool was lovely and clean, water was a lovely temp. Watching the sunset from the private beach was beautiful.

No oven in the kitchen meaning no way of cooking easy foods such as pizza or part baked bread etc if there for a few days as we were. There are 2 rings and a microwave. People putting towels on pool sun beds when going back to the lodges or RV’s. just needs a notice asking people not too as there are limited beds.

The lodges seemed to be new and were clean & comfortable. I would describe them as a tiny floating house or small house boat. They had a furnished mini kitchen and a nearby grocery store. They seemed clean and comfortable. There was pool that was very clean. They had a sandy area with palm trees and Adirondack chairs to relax at the end of the property. Campground feel with several RV camp sites nearby. The area that the lodges are in seemed safe. There was a manatee that would swim around the aqua lodges. The lodges seemed to be fairly centrally located to enjoy the entire Keys. We would recommend eating at Burdines: great fries, hushpuppies & fried key lime pie. Bahia Honda State Park is not too far, nice place to spend the day for some beach & sun. If you are there on Sunday a great church with a great pastor is Matacumbe Methodist Church is Islamorada. The Everglades is a 2 hour drive but such a wonderful park to visit. Pigeon Key is interesting place to visit nearby.

The pool closed at dusk. The ramp to the aqua lodges were a bit steep. If you were down wind of neighbors that smoked on their porches, you could smell their smoke (there was no smoking in the lodges though). There was a close by airport that was small with some older military aircraft that would fly over occasionally. The price seemed a bit high but we were there during the peak season & other places were even higher.

being on the water itself and watching all the boats go by at all times was my #1. Having a pool right next door was so awesome!! Everything about our stay from the customer service to the activities, the staff were extremely kind and informing and helpful. Felt very welcome throughout our stay! Jim, the maintenance guy there is just too cool and very kind and helpful! Super cool dude! We are planning on coming back again for sure!! One of the best places I’ve ever stayed on a vacation!! So much fun!! So many details to list, just so much to do and yet be at ease and feel relaxed!! We rented a pontoon boat (we met up with our family over there) so we rented the boat and spent the whole day out at sea and what an incredible and beautiful experience it was. The weather was amazing, tho I am a little charred🥵but so worth it!! The pontoon houseboat we stayed in was real comfortable and very convenient with your everyday necessities. I’ve recommended this place to friends and family and they will be paying visits as well☺️

I loved EVERYTHING!!

The houseboat was so cute! We loved it. We wish we would have planned on 2 nights vs 1. The sunset on the property is a MUST see. By far my favorite sunset to see this far in the Keys! We will be back. :)

The toilet on the houseboat did give off a horrible odor when flushed. We had to open the bathroom window each time we flushed to let the odor out and be sure to keep the lid to the toilet down @ all times. We are use to a RV so we knew what the smell was....however, if you have never stayed in a RV or houseboat.... keep that in mind. I'm not sure if cleaning tabs can be used but something needs to be done about smell when flushing. :(
