Very clean. Appears have been updated with modern furnishings and the bathroom is updated. Quiet area. I could hear music playing a few blocks away in the park, maybe. Easy access. Easy check-in and check out. Nice communication. Laundry available!

I hesitate to say, the parking. They do the best they can with the space they have available. It is a first come basis. I didn't get to park by my room, but it's not so large that it is a long walk by any means.

EVERYTHING was perfect. The owners were wonderful and easy to communicate with. I felt so safe, staying here alone with my children. The place (inside an out) was immaculate! The beds (and bedding) were so comfortable. All communication was via text, which was so easy and convenient. Ended up canceling our big fancy hotel room in St. Louis and bookend another room here for our trip back home, because we had such a great experience the first time around. Price/Value were perfect!

Located in the middle of downtown in the charming town of Waterloo. This little motel is funky good. A one-of-a-kind gem that will remind senior travelers of the motor courts of the 40s and 50s, but updated for modern tastes and amenities. Park your car right next to your door or in a covered garage.

There was no trash can in my unit, but trash bins outside just steps away.

Quaint hotel with a sense of history to it. Our room was clean and updated. It was just enough for my husband and myself, and had all we needed for a comfortable nights stay.

Just know to bring a little something to eat in the morning. I like something to eat and some coffee as soon as I wake up. Maybe something simple like a muffin basket in the room would be a nice touch.

Very cute & very clean tucked away motel. Our stay was a wonderful experience for visiting St.Louis. We felt very safe. The room was smaller but very clean & updated. Location was great we even walked to eat supper one night. The owner was very friendly.

Could use a curtain over the window so we could sleep little longer in the mornings & maybe a shelf in the bathroom to put bathroom things on.

The Sunset Motel exceeded all expectations. A friend and I had booked this place after looking online for a place to stay just outside St. Louis as part of our road trip across America. We discovered it by pure chance and chose this quaint little town and unassuming motel due to the amount of bars within the town square. The town itself was the perfect distance from the city after spending the day in St Louis and would set us off nicely on our way to Nashville the following day. When we arrived at the motel, we were greeted by Scott who checked us in and gave us some directions on where the bars and eateries were, not that they were hard to find. The Motel is perfectly situated within a minute or two walk from the first bar. The rooms were more than comfortable, plenty enough space for two of us and our room had 2 queen size beds. Facilities were great in the room which were lacking in a few other higher chain hotels we stayed in. There was a fridge and coffee facilities, I may recall a microwave too, but cant wholly remember. The shower and toilet facilities were clean and the shower pressure was excellent. All in all, we were super impressed for what was a steal of a price in our opinion. Later in the evening we got to meet the owner, the lovely Pam and we could really feel she loved the business and wanted to do her best by it. She gave us a brief history of the town and explained how she took over the business from her mum who still stays at the property. We felt really welcomed and were saddened it was only the one nights stay as two nights wouldn't have been an issue with the amount of bars and eateries. This road trip has seen us visit a fair few place from Chicago to New Orleans via multiple stops along the way and this town and its people were a particular highlight. We will always remember our welcome to the town of Waterloo and the wonderful hospitality received from Pam and Scott at the Sunset Motel. Thanks for the memories.

Probably the most immaculate motel room I've ever been in! The room had everything I needed, and the bed was super comfortable. The staff communicated well with me about when the room would be available for check in, too. I would - and probably will - stay here again.

Just a heads up to future guests that the parking situation is a bit tight - but definitely workable (and understandable, given that it's a small motel). Nothing that was off-putting, actually, just mentioning it for others who are considering this property. I highly recommend this motel!

Very clean and well kept property. Centraly located in Waterloo with easy access in and out of the area.

They coupd have serviced the rooms while we were out. I didnt need my bed made as I do that myself regardless. But it would have been nice to have our garbages emptied.

Room was clean, comfortable, everything looking new and fresh. Pleasant staff. We arrived a bit earlier than I had planned, but everything was ready. Convenient (even walking, which we did) to nice local restaurants. Rooms are small, but we knew that. We just needed beds and shower for the night, and this was perfect, and very reasonably priced. Small fridge and microwave in the room, though we did not use them.

Great, clean and comfortable Motel in one of the loveliest small cities in the US. Great Bars and Breweries nearby and the people are very cordial everywhere in the city. We will definitely come back.
