What a treat! Great location, close to everything we daytripped to, and the food nearby was very good. The room was tidy, vintage fixtures, and comfortable beds. Classic roadside motel experience you want in the north woods. The owners were on site and extremely kind, the sauna was a great bonus, and we loved that this was close to town, only 20 minutes from the beautiful beach at Lake Superior, and only 30 minutes from the waterfalls at the Mouth of the Black and Mouth of the Presque Isle, back roads to Porcupine Mountains and Lake in the Clouds, and 20 minutes to Adventure Peak which is a one of a kind experience. So thankful for a cozy home base to regroup with family and rest between our outdoor adventures. Room 31 has a bonus twin bedroom with its own door which was a nice surprise! They have HBO and wifi, which we didn't get a chance to use but they're great features. The virtual check in kiosk was unexpected and I've never used one before, same with the smart locks on the doors, but it worked well and it helps the owners manage the building and day to day responsibilities without stretching them to all hours of the day. Neat!

The room was somewhat humid and the air conditioner was noisy but thankfully it functioned just fine

I stay at the Indianhead Motel whenever I'm in the area for downhill & cross country skiing, which is multiple time a year. The rooms are always clean and comfortable, and I always look forward to my stay. This stay was no exception.

A perfect little stopover on a drive through the North Country! The office guy was really nice when we checked out in the morning, and the property was quiet and perfectly functional for our stay.

Nothing was particularly bad about the room, for the cost. The bathroom was a bit old, but again, I feel like a jerk complaining about it since it made no difference to us, and the hot water was great.

There was a car leaking oil terribly and moving spot to spot so that we had to walk through oil to go to our room. Previous tenants had also done so. So the carpet was oil stained too. Too bad.

Great location and value for our ski weekend in Ironwood. We stay at the Indianhead 3-4 times a winter on average and it never disappoints. Centrally located near all of the activities the western UP has to offer.

It’s old, but in good shape. I have been spoiled with great beds, showers, tv, etc. This was good, but not great

Convenient location (close to Holiday gas station and Super One grocery) and beautiful scenic area. Outdoor electrical outlet made charging electrical vehicle possible. Refrigerator, WIFi, and TV in room also plusses. Proprietor was very hospitable, responsive to requests, and an affable personality who takes pride in the establishment.

No microwave in room, coffee maker was sub-par, limited local restaurant choices, and present name of establishment requires greater sensitivity to Native American culture and people. Though comfortable and clean, decor is rather dated and facilities require general upgrade (curb appeal, parking lot lighting, mattresses, carpet, drapes, light fixtures, etc.). New owner seems eager and determined to improve the property over time.

there were three beds in the room so the kids all had beds.

there wasn’t another lock on the door for added security when inside.
