The breakfast was amazing and had a great selection. Best I've seen at any hotel. The staff was nice. Everything was really clean. Our room was beautiful and it was a quiet stay. The best was extremely comfortable!!!! The shower was really nice and the water was nice and hot how I like it. Some hotels hot water doesn't work a good so this was a nice change.

The one and only thing I did not like was that I felt a bit profiled at the front desk when checking in. I'm not sure if this is protocol for everyone or just us (we're a younger looking couple) but they made us sign a sheet that said we couldn't have any guests over and no parties. Which the party part I 100% understand but we had booked the hotel because it was close to a nearby concert venue. Our friends were going to meet us at the hotel so we could ride there together. And so I felt like I couldn't have people come hang out with us for a little bit before leaving? I asked the staff about this and they told us no it's fine they can come it's more that you can't party or have loud music. Which again I understand but the no guests thing is extreme.

This hotel has a good location - near Detroit but not in it. It is a good no frills hotel - there're few facilities (just a gym & no pool) but if you don't use them you don't miss them. There is a 24/7 tea, coffee & hot chocolate corner (which I prefer to a pool anyway). Breakfast is decent for the price, with some hot food even (though not all items are replenished). The room & beds were clean & comfortable.

Toiletries come in bottles bolted to the wall rather than being loose & the floor is linoleum (no carpet). But this doesn't really matter.

only had breakfast the day we were to check out... was surprised at the amount of items to choose from... was expecting the usual continental items... the abundance of choices of bagels, cereals, biscuit items was great! I didn't try any but many of the other guests were enjoying them. appreciated the way the hostess had everything set up; it was easy to get to the food choices and she was very friendly and professional. she seemed to really enjoy her job; her attitude towards the guests showed she was there to make sure you enjoyed the fare and her smile was genuine.

breakfast hours could stand to be longer; many guests like to sleep in late especially on weekends.

It was very clean and quiet. I was surprised, considering that it is right off of the interstate. I never saw a single thing that I thought needed to be cleaned.

My toilet had intermittent issues with flushing. I had the handicap accessible room since I have a broken leg right now and I needed the shower chair. The handheld shower head hose was very loose and water sprayed out everywhere. Besides that there was nothing that I would change about this trip or stay

Quiet

Extra $100 deposit. Paid full amount upon reservation and asked for $100 more upon arrival. Will possibly cost them future guests. Coming from out of town I like to budget and paying extra hotel costs for so called possible damage to the room, hated it. I am a 66 year old, two time cancer survivor, other than quiet time, a hot shower and comfortable bed, nothing much would be going on in my room.

It is a nice clean facility. The staff are all nice and very accommodating. The lobby is quite nice, plenty of natural lighting and comfortable seating. It's extremely inviting.

The only negative was that the pillows aren't at all comfortable and I couldn't get the Air in the room to stop running. The A/C would go off but the blower continuously runs.

Friendly staffs and well-maintained facilities

Both good and bad: the location is near freeway so it’s easier to travel by car but the downside is it could be noisy if you are a light sleeper. But you can bring this need to the staff to a better location of the room.

We were able to book a room at this hotel last minute when my daughter and I were in Detroit for the Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert. The staff was very friendly and accommodating when we needed to needed an early check-in in order to get ready for the concert. The room was available 4 hours early. We were incredibly grateful. The room was very clean and comfortable. If we are ever in the Detroit area again, we will definitely consider staying at this hotel.

Nothing! Everything was wonderful!

Most importantly, the bed was comfortable and everything was clean. Large bathroom and shower. Decent workout room. Breakfast acceptable for the price, but could be better...biscuits, gravy, sausage, bacon and such would be more appropriate for the room rate.

No microwave or coffee in the bedroom. TV remote worked poorly. There's something about no carpeting and no pictures on the walls...doesn't feel as welcoming, or "like home" as a hotel should. Although, the no carpeting has it's positive qualities...you know if the floor is clean or not in these rooms. What's with all the hooks on the walls? Weird. Need a closet in the room...lose the clunky looking hooks adorning the walls.

Highly professional staff, extremely clean facility. My husband and I went out to grab a bite to eat, when we came back all of staff was cleaning the floors and counters, deep cleaning everything! Room exceeded our expectations. Staff deserves a raise for the hard work that they do! I would definitely recommend family and friends to stay at Avid. I would definitely stay again once I come back into town from traveling for work.

There's nothing that could have been done better. Everything was excellent !
