Getting checked in was quick and easy. The front desk staff was great. Once there, it was also quite easy and affordable to upgrade our room. The room was clean, cool, and the bed was comfortable. Not only would I stay there again, my friend and I referred others to stay here on an upcoming trip they have to Great Falls soon. The food at the Celtic Cowboy was great.

The poor bartender at the Celtic Cowboy was also the only server on a slightly busy Saturday afternoon. We didn't mind being patient, but we saw some other customers being fussy about it. And as comfortable as the bed was, the pillows were a bit too soft and squishy.

Excellent downtown location. That's off the beaten track, the mob of the main commercial corridor on Tenth Ave South. That doesn't mean that there aren't eating and drinking options close-by. You can walk among the downtown shopping district. You can easily walk to the Charles M. Russell Museum. But the Arvon is a boutique hotel. The charm is in the historical building, the utterly first-rate, Irish ("Celtic Cowboy") bar, and the funky shapes and sizes of hallways, corner rooms, and the stairwell, all updated and with common hallways lined with local art. This is urban charm in one of Montana's largest cities, though much, much smaller than truly Big Cities. Drive everywhere else worth visiting in Great Falls, easily, including out of town access. You can find the chain hotel operations and franchise restaurants anywhere, can't you, including the afore-mentioned commercial corridor? Why pay more for that? Free parking! A continental breakfast. Quiet.

I didn't have any complaints, at all. This place truly exceeded my expectations. I took a chance, based on the website, and am very glad I did. I will be back.

The hotel is in a good location in the historic downtown area -- walking distance to several restaurants. Our room was large and well-appointed with everything we might need, including a refrigerator and microwave, and the bathroom was spacious with room for our personal items. Bed was very comfortable. They have a dedicated parking garage for hotel guests. Nice artwork on the walls. We were only there overnight, but would have been happy to stay another night or two.

No one was there when we arrived (at 5:15 pm), so we ended up sitting in the lobby for 45 minutes waiting to check in. The self-serve breakfast was fine, but got a bit crowded and confusing when multiple guests were trying to serve themselves at the same time. Some fresh fruit would have been nice. We found a dirty sock on the floor in our room, presumably left behind by a previous guest. Booking.com emailed us the check-in instructions after we checked out.

Liked the restaurant next door..provided a very good dinner. I liked the authenticity of the building and while I didn't love the indirect natural lighting it was very interesting to see a building that relied on that from this period. We appreciated that the hotel is dog friendly.

We ditched the breakfast as it was very packaged - no fruit if I saw correctly. Not sure I could stay for more than 1 night in the non skylight rooms (which we had) and if we go back (which is likely given we travel this route once or twice a year) we will plan ahead to get a skylight suite.

The beds were super comfy and sheets were soft. Frozen breakfast burritos to heat up were delicious and a nice change up to the traditional continental breakfast. Great location and easy parking nearby. Staff were all lovely and helpful. I personally loved the giant heavy duty Hotel Arvon mugs in the room. The coffee was great, too.

Fan sound in one room was a bit loud (but sounded like white noise so not awful). But didn’t have the same issue in the second room I stayed in.

Friendly, helpful staff. Cleanliness. Comfortable bed.

The included breakfast needs a some work. Fuses blown when toaster and coffee maker ran at the same time kept folks from getting their morning coffee. Hot water provided for tea and chocolate was lukewarm. The microwaveable frozen entree that I chose was not edible. On another note, a friend declared her instant Quaker oatmeal with granola was exactly what she expected. The adjoining restaurant was closed (Sunday night), so we were not able to enjoy its dinner fare

This is a Historic Hotel just like his name says everything was high class. Beds were super comfy. Located in a great part of town. The Bar Next Door was very good with that classic Irish atmosphere.

Initial arrival was a little confusing finding a parking spot they are there but when we arrived all positions were taken and we had to speak to the front desk to find where to park. A little bit of a heads up about that would have been helpful.

Great location, lovely interior, decent beds, nice bathroom, parking secure and convenient, great bar/restaurant attached. Would have been a great stay and highly recommended if it wasn't for the staff attitude issues. But if they can get the staff sorted, this hotel is really a great find otherwise and would be a really good value for your money.

It just seemed the customer service mentality was lacking (and we are not people who expect or desire hotel staff to fawn over us or get too involved, I just want basic cost-of-entry customer service). In this case multiple front desk staff were ignoring customers (sitting in their back office pretending you weren't there until you forced them to interact with you) and kind of just not really into their jobs (monosyllabic answers, trying to get through the interaction as quickly as possible, not helpful about where/when breakfast was). Also housekeeping knocked on the door and was trying to come into the room an hour before check out time and despite the "Do not disturb" sign clearly on the door.

Loved the history behind the building, it felt old without feeling run down. Really like the amount of automated things, like lights in hallways and the garage at night turning on with motion. Loved the small garage in the back but my Tacoma was almost too big to wiggle around in there, which still didn’t negatively impact my stay but definitely don’t want to bring a huge F350 in there. The staff were super friendly and the rooms were well kept, again you could feel the history but they were clean, tidy, functional. Would stay again!

Two small hiccups, the tvs automatically turn off which is great for energy efficiency but if you bring animals and feel they need noise so they’re not bothered by voices and footsteps, bring a radio. The unit that controls the temp in the room also has some funky settings where it’ll automatically turn the heat back on. I went to bed having it be 68 and woke up to 74. So not horrible but I wish I’d asked for clarification on the temp (especially when staff were so wonderful about explaining it) when I first noticed the change. These are two really small issues that I feel are more fyi, if I had to go back I would definitely stay there again.

The self serve breakfast was satisfying. I really like their coffee. I'm not a fan of microwave food for breakfast. I would rather have items that you can put into a toaster or even better would have a waffle/pancake maker.

Some of the restaurants hours close pretty early in this town. Some of them 7p.m. but it's a small town and I realized that it is supply/demand and staffing.
