Breakfast was a nice plus. The person handling breakfast (I believe his name was Tony) was so friendly and amazingly on top of everything. He greeted you every morning with a big good morning and smile and made sure everything including coffee was always available. Room was nice and comfortable, we like the set up. We would stay here again!

We are not a big fan of the refilled soap, shampoo and condition dispensers. We felt it is not very safe since anyone can put anything in them or the wrong thing and we wouldn't know.

Our room was wonderful. It was spacious and clean. We were very pleased once we were able to check in.

We were not able to check in until almost an hour after check-in time. The front desk was going to text us when our room was ready and they never did. After a long day of traveling, we had hoped to have a space to relax before our events on Sunday night however that was not the case. Additionally, not having a restaurant or bar area was also very inconvenient as we would have waited there until our room was ready. We were able to find a parking spot and went to downtown Portsmouth to wait.

Great location. Beautiful hotel. Walking distance to prime entertainment. Room were nice and spacious with a beautiful entertainment center with large tv, fridge and microwave. Large bathroom with double size shower. The children especially enjoyed the pool. Breakfast was great, nice hot & cold selection and fully stocked. We had our car valet and the attendants were nice and service was quick. For the convivence, I didn't mind paying the parking fee of $40. There is a parking garage a few blocks away as well as meter street parking that is free after late evening and overnight parking.

The location is great. Love the valet parking so no headaches for parking. Portsmouth downtown is very walkable for we only needed our car for days trips. The breakfast was good - more substantial than a snack and included with the room. Got a quick bit before heading out on adventures. Room was very comfortable and we slept great.

We did not use the pool. It looked a little milky when we were there. We are pool owners and used to crystal clear pools.

Cleanliness, location, and an accommodating staff. They touched based with me several times during our stay and wanted to know if we need anything.

The coffee maker wasn't working, and the Tuesday morning breakfast wasn't very good. The muffins seemed liked they had been frozen, and it seemed more like a European breakfast than full breakfast. The Wed morning breakfast seem more typical with omelets etc. None of these comments are meant to be showstoppers but rather constructive criticism.

Breakfast was better than other hotels stayed in. Meg was very helpful and accommodating when called before our stay and during our stay. Cindy was friendly and helpful during our stay as well A wheelchair was available for use for one of our family members. Valet parking with Jeff’s help was great.

Not receiving a rate adjustment. Rates were lowered before I checked in on 8/25 and were adjusted by The Hampton Inn upon request. I had an event planned all day on 8/26 and did not have the opportunity to inquire about a rate adjustment from Booking.com. Feel like the rate I was charged by Booking.com was overinflated and should have been matched to the lower rate charged by the Hampton Inn and Suites Downtown Portsmouth. Will not use Booking.com again for this reason. Will always book through the hotel directly in the future.

Location was perfect. We could walk to restaurants, museums, shopping, etc. The staff was friendly, but a special shout out for Tony. He greeted us every morning at breakfast. He truly makes every guest feel special. I loved that coffee, tea, and water are available at all times, and the cookies in the afternoon are a great touch.

Clean and all the staff were super polite and friendly. It was great! Perfect location within walking distance of downtown Portsmouth. The front clerk even told the loud teenagers to be quiet and stop running. She was assertive and got them to stop immediately.

The breakfast was awful. My friend and I only ate breakfast at the hotel once and chose other breakfast restaurants in the other town eat at instead.

The breakfast options were tasty, fresh and plentiful. Arguably the best continental breakfast we've ever had. The location was central to plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and if you're traveling for a concert at the music hall, you can't pick a better hotel. It was a 4 minute walk!! The staff was friendly and efficient, the rooms were sparkling clean and the entire hotel felt brand new

The parking situation wasn't ideal...40 bucks for forced valet isn't my favorite, but the valet service was great anyway

I would like more clarity ahead of time on whether and how much to tip the valets for car parking. I would have also liked more up front transparency on valet parking rates. $38 is not bad price, considering public parking is $2 an hour, and the necessity for parking for customers who drive there, but again transparency would have been nice ahead of time. Also, I tipped the housekeeping using your bar scan, I put $5, and it charged me $5.98 with the surcharge -- again, would like more transparency about this fee. If I'd have known, I would have left a cash tip. All this detracts from the experience. Hence, 8/10
