When you walk in, it's like you are walking into a street in Italy - I think that's the effect the original owner probably wanted to convey. So that's quite special. The room and the bed were huge. The shower and bathroom clean and spacious although strangely, the sink was in the bedroom, not the bathroom! The free tea and coffee.

It was dated which isn't necesarily a bad thing but parts of the hotel were a little jaded - stained carpets and plastic plants for example. Unfortunately the first night we arrived, tired after a mammoth journey from Scholarie, the staff were quite rude, which was not what we needed.

Room was very clean. Our window faced a forested area at the back which was quiet and relaxing. All day fresh coffee and tea available in the lobby area. We missed the buffet breakfast which used to be included in the room rate.

Hallway carpets should be replaced (old and stained). The mattress was very soft which was commented on several reviews. I requested a firm mattress on my booking form but this was not accommodated. We both ended up with sore backs. Pillows were very old and lumpy.The suite furniture is functional but very dated. Sofa was old with no cushioning. We had to use a coffee cup lid as a soap dish as there was none at the sink. Nor were there any drinking glasses and only 2 paper coffee cups. Saving on costs is one thing but for the rate we paid, missing such small items was unexpected.

The room was larger than expected and had both a couch and comfy chair for seating. It was well air conditioned, everything was clean and the coffee pods and coffee machine were a bonus. There was plenty of really hot water and the shower was fully tiled and very clean. There were complimentary coffee and cold water dispensers available on the ground floor throughout the day and ice dispensers on each floor. Parking was plentiful. The $150 hold, which is not very clearly publicized, was released within 12 hours of checking out.

The double bed was comfortable with a relatively new mattress and four very large pillows. I would have preferred a slightly firmer bed with a choice of some flatter pillows. However we only spent one night and one can adjust to beds after a couple of nights' stay. There is limited access to food and beverage in the hotel and the breakfast options were sub-par in my opinion. There are, however, plenty of food and snack places a short drive away.

the sauna was not warm enough and no one really knew how it works and how long it takes to get warm no slippers or bathroom for sauna available at desk or in the room sauna is part of a fitness room, so not really a relaxing and comfortable experience that you would expect from a sauna - probably good after fittness, but not as the main experience the shower is big, but does not function the way you think it would do - either too cold or hot, we could not figure that out.

It was a big spacious king room with a spa, The hotel had a nice area when you walked in with the tables. The outside of the hotel is super big and we just love the way it looks.

When we got to our room we noticed that the mirror head board had not been cleaned (it had dirty smudges and stuff on it)so we cleaned it! We called the desk bc we could not change the channel to the TV- the remote didn't work, the box that was supposed to be on the back of the TV was lying on the dresser only thing on TV was the news. We noticed that the toilet was a little wobble as well, just a few things but other than that it was clean, the bed was comfy and it's plus that there was more than one pillow for each of us and they were good pillows- fiance got a good nights sleep after our concert last night. I'm sure we will be back.

The hotel is very impressive when you arrive, especially during the evening when it's all lit up. The lobby is very nice in an old school way and the staff was friendly when checking in/out. I didn't eat there but the dinning area also looked nice and clean.

The money was definitely spent on the entrance and lobby area. It's an old hotel and very dated, which normally isn't an issue but there was construction areas and the room wasn't worth the price.

love the feel of the place. felt like I was at the overlook hotel from the movie The Shining. plus I think my room was haunted two nights in a row I felt like someone sat at the bottom of my bed and woke me up. it was cool having the hot tub in the room. I love it other than the spooks. lol

I thought the site said it had free breakfast. I must have been wrong. I have limited allotted food expenses. so I need to have my breakfast included so I can make it through breakfast, lunch, and dinner with what my company lots us for food per day.

The decor was absolutely beautiful; staff were friendly and we enjoyed the food from the cafe which was also reasonably priced. The room was clean and spacious. We had a refrigerator in our room however the microwave was located in the hall, but some rooms had both. I liked that we were near shopping, restaurants and the highway, but far enough away not to experience the noise of heavy traffic. We will definitely return.

We always like staying at the Garden Place. If it is run by anyone with the name Salvatore, you know it will be good. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful! Breakfast personnel were wonderful and helpful with a very inexpensive breakfast menu.

We have stayed here many times. For the first time, I see this hotel starting to look "a little" run down and not as clean as it should be for a Salvatore. The beautiful steps leading to the second floor were always dirty and in need of vacuuming. The showers had no shelves to put your soap and shampoo on. That was not good. We had to put our toiletries on the floor of the shower! The whole interior in my opinion needs some "freshening up" or re-doing. It is starting to show its age. Perhaps the company is investing more time in "The Delevan" or "Salvatore's" restaurant itself.

The hotel is pretty funky and cool. Our room was spacious, and had a fridge and comfy bed. Bathroom design is a bit unusual, but still works. The room was nice and quiet. There is a shuttle to and from the airport, which we needed as we were without a car and arrived on a late night flight. When we did pick up a rental car, the shopping and grocery stores were close by. I would stay here again and recommend it.

While the front desk person was trying to be helpful by combining 2 bookings (on 2 different online sites), he did not understand our needs and it ended up costing us over $40 more than just leaving the 2 bookings as they were.
