The Hotel is located in a beautiful place right by the riverside. They have amazing and friendly staff at the hotel and riverside restaurant. Our first wow was that they have smart TVs that you can cast to and they are connected to wifi with most apps like Netflix and wifi available. The rooms are a good size and come with a decent-sized fridge with a freezer and a microwave. You don't see that a lot with hotels anymore. In most cases, you have to request a microwave or they are not available. The location is perfect and close to everything especially for us since we were here for Kiteboarding. Beautiful views of the river and bridge from the restaurant. Loved that there was ample parking.

It would have been nice If they had an indoor pool. During our visit, the air quality was poor and very smokey due to fires up north. It wasn't good to be outside, especially with a baby. So we didn't get to enjoy the facilities the 3 days we stayed since the pool and other hot tub were outdoors. The hotel room price is also on the higher side. But overall and good experience.

The location was nice and the beds were comfortable, the views from the hotel (not our room) were beautiful

On check in we were made aware that since we booked via third.party (booking.com) we were not getting food vouchers. This was said in a very unpleasant tone and made us feel unwelcome. We were clearly second class citizens to them. As we walked into our room, we noticed a wet dirty towel in the sink! I immediately called front desk to report it and was told someone will come to get it. No apologies, nothing! Like this was completely normal. A young men showed up, took the nasty towel and left. He didn't apologize or clean the sink! Later, as I was going to take a shower, I found another nasty towel in the bathtub.... I didn't even bother calling. On top of this our AC wasn't working the first night. Again, complained and got no apologies.... Very unpleasant experience.

Our room had a wonderful view of the River and the bridge going over to Washington state. There was a beautiful, paved walking trail on the river side of the property. They also had outdoor dining overlooking the river. We didn't take advantage of that unfortunately, but it looked very relaxing. I will definitely plan to do that if I have the opportunity to return to Oregon in the future. The day we arrived at the hotel we took the Historic Columbia River Highway just outside of Portland to Hood River which thrilled us all. We loved all the waterfalls on this drive. We didn't realize how many there were on this drive beside Multnomah Falls. They were very close to the road and didn't take a lot of effort to get good views. Since we were short on time, we didn't get to do more hiking, but there seemed to be a lot of good trails. For additional information about the area, we crossed over into Washington state on the bridge near the hotel. We drove a short way to White Salmon, Washington. There we had a wonderful view of Mount Hood. When we departed from the hotel, we took route 35 toward Mount Hood and the Timberline Lodge to eat lunch and see the historic lodge. We enjoyed stopping at a couple of fruit stands on the "Fruit Loop" along the way which we thoroughly enjoyed.

I don't remember anything I didn't like about it.

Wow. Can't say enough about the staff here. I made the reservation with Booking.com (BIG mistake!) and it was listed as "and xxx" as my last name. Diligent searching found my pre-paid reservation. Whew! GREAT location and amazing view of the river. We're minutes from downtown Hood River and right on the roads to everywhere. Don't skip the restaurant. Just enjoyed a cured egg yolk shaved on top of my egg white omelet and avocado toast!

Booking.com errors

Check in was super easy and staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Room was easy to find, everything was totally clean and nice. We booked a single king room with a riverfront view, and that's what we got. Even had a balcony. Restaurant was very nice, but pricey. The menu is small but everything was delicious. We went once for dinner and once for breakfast. Sat outside both times and it was lovely. The lounge was also classy, friendly barkeep, and I loved that you can take your drinks back to your room with you. Beds were comfy, shower worked fine, controllable ac, and there was even a little electric fireplace with a forced air heater. Overall a fantastic, almost resort-like experience for a very reasonable hotel price.

The only unpleasant part of our stay was when some guests at the restaurant threw a fit over wait times and said some very disrespectful things to the servers. The wait staff handled it like pros though (much better than I would have) and de-escelated the situation quickly. We tipped extra. Whatever the staff there makes, it's not enough.

The Riverside restaurant was very good, we really enjoyed the meals we did have here. The location was great, the view from our hotel room over looking the river was very nice.

The in wall air conditioner was not pleasant, it's loud, we couldn't run it while sleeping. It would have been nice to have the option to open the windows. It would have been nice to have been able to cut across to the dining room from our hallway.

We have been repeat customers for many visits to Hood River. The location right on the river draws us back over and over. The outdoor dining for dinner on a summer’s evening can’t be beat. Making reservations online and check-in are a breeze.

The WiFi connection in the rooms is very poor. The cost o $764.31 for two nights for 2 adults in a river view room is a bit steep. Fresh brewed coffee available in the lobby in the early morning would be appreciated.

Everything - the staff were so helpful, at reception and in the bar and restaurant areas, and answered all our questions. We were in the area for our elopement wedding, and the staff all made us feel loved and helped us to make it a really memorable trip to this lovely part of the world. The room was spacious and comfortable, the pool and hot-tub area was clean and accessible and we really enjoyed our stay!

What went well? - Pretty Much Everything. We booked online never having been to Hood River. "Best Western" hotel/motels are not properties we expect much from. Call it what you want they are in the 'economy' accommodations category for us... vs. Hyatt or Hilton, Oriental, etc. etc. Well this was the nicest Best Western I've EVER seen. The location is phenomenal. Staff was amazing and the restaurant and bar turned out to be the highest rated "nice" restaurant in Hood River. Blown away. The only place we would ever stay in Hood River.

Mattresses were sadly the only thing that were terrible. Sink to China soft and unsupportive. Sadly so uncomfortable it would probably be the one reason we don't return. Please - upgrade to nice semi firm supportive mattresses!

That it was on the Columbia River & had an amazing outdoor heated pool, 2 hot tubs, sauna and work out room which included peloton cycling bikes. Had been recommended highly by a friend with kids and it was a great location and offered more class than the standard hotel. I like the lay-out, architecture of the building in general. Nice river path along the river too!

Rug in exercise room is pretty stained up, might need to be replaced with a more water friendly flooring as many people pass through there just to use the bathroom.
