So many activities for kids, they will never get bored and the water park is wonderful as well with so many slides and different pools. The grounds are great to just walk around as well.

on the weekend the waterpark is UNBELEIVEABLY crowded. I highly advise going here during the week and not on weekend. We came in on wednesday and left sunday, the weekend crowd was a massive difference. If you go on weekend and are wanting to do waterpark you must book cabana. The cabana will at least help with wait for food and drinks but you will still have massive lines and crowd in pool. We booked cabana and its definitely worth it.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights for our honeymoon. We originally booked a regular king room but on check-in, we were lucky enough to be helped by Caitlin, who upgraded us to a suite on the ground floor! We were thrilled and loved the room - especially the bathtub and the private patio. We were also very happy to be in a quiet wing of the resort. The pools , restaurants and grounds are spectacular. The water slides are also good fun and the long lines move quickly. Looking forward to coming back here with family in the future.

The food and drinks are pricey.

Loved the king-size bed, bathroom set up with separate tub and shower (great for the kids). Kids loved the water park. With my happy hour group, our waiter was awesome, he handled our group with finesse. (8-20-23, Claritycon)

Drinks and food were pricy but it is a resort. Visitors were a bit testy-if you are on vacation, just slow down and relax. Sofa bed was dreadful, very uncomfortable, you could feel the springs on your back. Water park was a little overrated, costly when you look at the overall price for one night.

We loved having connected rooms!! We loved the pool area and slides! Everything was very clean! The rooms were clean and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful! Wish there was a play ground or something for days that it was too cool to swim.

We didn't eat much at the resort because the children's options were about as much as adult options. When you have children who eat one bite of toast or 3 chicken nuggets, paying $20-$30 for buffet or lunch is way too much. The food was good that we did eat for adults though.

I realize it was a busy weekend at the resort so I appreciate that the resort was fully staffed. Even with all of the people and a fully committed hotel, the staff was very friendly and helpful!

The linens on the pull out couch were dirty and there was something "crusty" all over the blanket/bedspread. The TV in the room was horribly outdated an the picture quality was terrible (especially when watching sports). Also, the TV remote control did not work.

Facilities are great , beautifully maintain property , room was nice. My kids loved the water park it was not too crowded in the water and short lines to the slides. Loved the shoppes and Starbucks, game room and gym On site.

Carpet in Our room was stained. Low quality pillows, and couch bed does not really sleep two people ,maybe two very small children and it’s not comfortable . Room was cramped for four people and fridge did not get very cold. Should probably provide larger trash cans. There was trash in the hallways , although guests should not leave or drop trash around. maybe have some one sweet the floors more often for trash. At the pool there was no lounge chairs. I think people were just throwing towels down and then leaving. Would be mice to have more life guards around the lazy river. Also we could not check in at four had to wait an hour.

Food was okay. Staff was okay, some friendly, some acted like they were too good to be there. Seems to be catered more for adults that want to drink with their children, than the actual children. My boys loved the water park and slides….seems like they could add on more to the arcade area, offer a better variety of things for the kids (movie at night). Food was okay, for how much they charged.

Staff could have been more friendly, food could be better, more activities catered to kids.

Pool - Quality and taste of the food was very good. Service was very friendly Room Service - Took about an hour but very good Velocity - Happy with service and food,

Housekeeping - They did not make it to our room on one of the nights and after we contacted the front desk and requested towels to shower for the evening. Housekeeping did show up eventually at 9pm but my girls were already in bed,

I took my wife for a 50th anniversary get away. She loved the pools and the lazy river. We both agreed that the lazy river was the best we have seen. There were lounge chairs for everyone, they supplied tubes and towels to use, (unlike a place we went to where you had to buy there tube to use the lazy river) and the facilities were not over crowded. The room was large, clean and comfortable the view good and the staff was exceptional in that they were very friendly and wanted to please you. The food and drinks were outstanding but costly. The best restaurant 18 Oaks prices compared favorably to any top steak house but the other restaurants were overpriced in my opinion. I know that hotels always charge more than stand alone restaurants but items like hamburgers and bar drinks were 30% over what I would have expected. But the service in every place we ate in the resort was exceptional this made the cost bearable and kept us from trying to go elsewhere to eat or ordering food delivery which the resort allowed. We were surprised by but happy to see the number of families with babies and small children. The resort was prepared to handle them. We are talking about returning again and bringing other family members with us. I highly recommend JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa. An exceptional place to visit for adults and families with children. Please note we didn't try the gulf courses as the temperature was over 100 degrees the days we were there but we went to enjoy the water attractions and they and the staffs friendly attention were outstanding.

Prices in some of the restaurants were higher for some items than I expected them to be.

About everything. It is perfect for family gatherings. Pool was great (lazy river a bit slow). Slides were great. Food a the golf club restaurant was very good. There was a Starbucks on site.

As with every other hotel, you can hear everything happening in the hallway and even when doors are closed slowly and quietly, they make a loud noise when closing. Price is overall a bit high.
