The Staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was large and laid out well. The bathroom and shower tub arrangement were good. Overall the hotel was much better than expected as I just needed a place to stay close to a half-marathon I was running.

Some electric outlets didn’t work on morning before my departure which prevented me from making coffee. Reported to staff and they were getting right on it for the next guest.

Location was perfect, beds were super comfortable and AC was great. Parking was also good.

The door lock was not fully functional and we had to put a chair in front of it to feel safe. The lights did not work after we used the microwave. The room looked like it had been painted recently but maybe not finished. The bathroom door had a big crack like someone had tried to break in to it. Most of the lamps only had one working light bulb.

Breakfast was just okay. Entrance to location was terrible and confusing. The front need a lot of work.There’s no marked entrance to the hotel .

Employees were as nice as could be. They bent over backwards to make us feel comfortable and to make us feel welcome. We will definitely stay here again! Breakfast was good too!

I didn't eat breakfast, because I was celebrating our 50th year Graduation Anniversary from Yoakum High School, and we had plans to eat together later.

The pull out tray under the freezer compartment in the Refrigerator seem to have sort of residue from previous occupant.

Breakfast was as expected, nothing special. Just like most motels, prepackaged. But, it was warm.

No instructions for making the TV work. Turns out batteries in remote needed replacement.

I've booked room to other hotels in this town in this town a few times and this is the first time I've stayed at the black gold and out of all the hotels in this town that I have stayed at this one has been the best one so far. Comfortable bed comfortable pillows nice room nice big bathroom. Very good price nice little hotel. The staff is wonderful they're very helpful in the evening and very helpful in the morning. The pool looked very clean and inviting. All of the outlets I tried in the room actually worked and the phone is in good condition and works.

The parking lot seriously the potholes holy cow the potholes... The alarm clock was broken but you know didn't really need that anyway. Stains on the white sheets but I bring my own sheets anyway because my hair is blue.

The room was clean and the staff helpful. Beds were a tad soft for me but the hubby loved them.

Bed was softer than I prefer.

There wasn't much available for breakfast. The milk and juice pitchers were just about empty and very warm.
