• Location --- the resort is ideally situated between the east and west side of flaming gorge, and makes Vernal/Dinosaur National Monument very accessible. • Facilities --- the resort has it's own gift shop, restaurant, and a neighboring gas station and water craft/vehicle rental. The garden/yard is impeccably maintained, and is a great place to hang out whether to eat a meal, play, and/or lounge. • Ice cream at the gift shop --- we got introduced to Cascade brand of ice cream. Maui Waui is perfect for the hot summer weather!

• one or two potholes leading from the resort's restaurant to the motel porch we stayed in.

This charming resort is enjoyable to stay in. The area at the edge of Flaming Gorge is beautiful. The beds in the motel were comfortable. The bathrooms were updated, nice, and clean. There was adequate parking for all the rooms. The lot was unpaved, and had a lot of gravel in it, tho maybe not enough for parking during a rainstorm. There was a power outage while we were there, and we were able to use the shower and bathroom with morning sunlight through the bathroom window. They served us a delicious breakfast in the resort restaurant, and wrote down our cc number so they could charge us after power was reestablished.

The staff stated that power outages were common there, so there should be back-up generators, or new power lines run, or hot spot cellphones for charging patrons for meals and gift shop purchases without having to write down credit card numbers on paper for later use.

We thought we were staying in the Condos because of the picture on the site. I was surprised that they put us in the Motel room in the back. We were very pleased with the room. Very comfortable and clean. I guess I didn't read the fine print but I would stay there again. The staff was outstanding! Wonderful resort for the family!!

Flaming Gorge is in the town of Dutch John...a very small town. It is near the Green River, so perfect for my fishing husband. The room was as expected and had all that was needed for our three night stay. The staff was very friendly.

Not the facilities problem, just something to be aware of-- if you want to cook bring all your groceries with you...there is no place to purchase meat or produce. We did eat in the restaurant which was busy but very good. It had outdoor seating which made us feel more comfortable with Covid

The refurbished rooms are a big improvement. I think the wifi will be too, but mine never worked properly in my room. Still, it was busy time, and it wasn't important this visit. If it was I feel sure they wld have fixed it for me. The food is improving every visit and considering the logistical challenges of Dutch John is more than serviceable. The staff, and especially the front desk staff are smart and ironic and helpful. The food service far exceeds expectations for a place almost in the middle of nowhere with a permanent population under 200. And it would be judged conscientious and pleasant in any metropolis. The resort is what it is, but it always over-delivers, and I'll be back.

I stay at this place every year, and my experience is that it gets better. The accommodations are updated, the food is better, and the staff was great: conscientious, smart and capable (all of which is a major accomplishment in such a small place). And the fly shop is very good.

The construction was a little intrusive from time to time both in terms of the work and the space they took up. I also wld have appreciated a little more information on how the new heaters in the updated room work. It was COLD during our visit, and I never sorted out how to emerge from the shower in comfort. That said, I cld have worked harder to get the info, but these are minor issues.

store

no activities usually associated with "resort" (horse shoes, putt putt, etc). Liberal use of the word "resort" in my view.

Room was small, but clean and the bed was comfortable. Our room had a porch to watch the sunset which was nice.

Had to pay for breakfast.

The stuff are very nice and helpful :) The room was clean and spacious.

The shower is a bit difficult to use. We had to drive to the front desk in order to ask them how to use it.
