Good room for the money. Breakfast was pretty good. Staff was super friendly.

Room is very basic but clean. Liked that pets are free. The toilet and countertop are weirdly short and small- elementary school size. The grounds outside were unfinished in terms of landscaping but it looked like it was being worked on. Rooms were not very soundproof. We could hear everything from room next door through a thin door. It sounded like they were in the same room.

I'm a biker. I do a lot of traveling to weekend biker fests, and being on a budget am usually looking the the classic "cheap motel". When I was looking to make reservations in the Dahlgren/Colonial Beach area for the Colonial Beach Bike Fest this past weekend, the Red Roof Inn on US 301, just south of the Potomac Bridge was the least expensive place I could find. Talk about a pleasant surprise. First off, the place is in excellent nick, and they were doing some fairly extensive renovations as my wife and I walked in thru the door. Staff is very friendly, very helpful. Met with Chico (who I believe is the owner), he was embarrassed that at 2:00 in the afternoon there were about an hour shy of having the room(s) he'd earmarked for us ready yet. No real problem, I knew I was running ahead of schedule. Before heading out Chico took us to the room he'd had earmarked to give us a choice between, we made our choice and headed into Colonia Beach to hit the first round of the bars. Got back ninety minutes later with our paperwork done, keys waiting, and the staff very apologetic. Over the course of the weekend, the room was clean and well cared for, the bed was comfortable, and what they call a 'breakfast room' . . . . . . let's just say it was beyond anything I'm normally used to in a motel that includes breakfast, to the point that I didn't bother with lunch the entire weekend, just filled up with breakfast and was good until supper time. And the woman who does the cooking is very good.

Ok, this is a review, so I supposed I'm expected to complain about something. The plastic tableware in the breakfast room was flimsy. Happy now?

Wow! They are able to run the hotel with very little inconvenience to guest while under taking complete renovations. The staff was friendly even to grumpy guest. The room was huge and comfortable. New flooring that kept you from smelling what other guest left behind. No matter what time you return through out your day your greeted with a smile, told to have a nice day or welcomed back.

It would be nice if they would try to get an agreement with the facility behind them for a right of way. Getting out of the parking lot is very difficult with the traffic back ups caused by Naval Base employees in the morning and Hwy 301 traffic throughout the day. The right of way would give guest the ease of the traffic signal for exiting the area.

The breakfast was pretty good -decent. I wish that they gave you an option for the eggs, and a meat option. Lets just say more food options. The orange juice was watered down. The decaf coffee was good. Overall it satisfied my hunger.

The hall carpet needs to be shampooed; there was a foul odor coming from the carpet. I appreciated the room not having carpet that would trap all kinds of germs and odors. I suggest you strip the carpet and put down laminate or vinyl plank flooring.

Being able to bring my dog with no additional costs was great! Breakfast was good and the gym, although tiny was good enough for a morning cardio workout. Amazing value for the price. The person checking me in was friendly and we had a good chat.

the rooms were very nice clean the breakfast was super good most of the time we only get cereal or muffins or you can make your own waffle. The breakfast at the red roof was refreshing and nice.

there was a lot of people running up and down the stairs, screaming and yelling after 11 but it is a hotel, so it would’ve been nice if someone could’ve told them to go to their room and have some compassion for the others

The breakfast was hot and fresh and always timely and full.

I do appreciate your willingness, especially in today's society, to welcome pets. However, my room seemed to be surrounded by loud dogs in the neighboring rooms.

Everything I love this establishment. It's clean, Friendly and accommodating staff, a good location to get food or do a little shopping. I stay here often and highly recommend staying here its never disappointing and often makes you feel like a home away.

loved the location it was very close to where I was headed for the weekend and close to a lot of restaurants

it would have been nice if they would have some type of breakfast and also the beds were a little on the hard side and pillows were not very comfortable almost to soft nothing to really rest ur head on

There could have been a more comfortable chair in room. The shampoo/conditioner packets are horrible cannot open them with wet hands. Could have been closer to Colonial beach.
