Great location & enjoyed the restaurants. Beautiful restoration in hotel as well.

The front desk, both check-in and check-out were not friendly. The woman who worked late night however was helpful & went out of her way to get additional towels. I did find it interesting that ice buckets weren’t in room. The front desk told us they no longer supplied bc of theft. I would think a hotel of this price would at least offer a plastic ice bucket. They sent us to bar & filled a plastic grocery sack with ice for us…lol. It worked, but even a Tru hotel has a plastic bucket.

We had double queen size beds and they were comfortable. Breakfast was ok. Parking was ok because I was able to park in the handicap parking and it was close to my room.

My main complain was that the garbage had not been picked up eventhough my daughter spoke to the housekeeping lady and after being there 4 days, it was really stacking up. The receptionist told me to tie the garbage up and put it outside our room. That was unacceptable to me. Also, it was 4 women in that room so we had requested clean towels but did not get them until the night before we left.

The exterior look kept with the historical view of the town. It was clean, quiet, and quaint. Employees Emily and Summer were very nice. Emily helped me deal with an issue that stemmed from booking.com and was an absolute Saint with her patience and professionalism. I was honestly more disappointed in the reservation process with booking.

The parking lot. Must admit, though, that I am out of shape, and I loathe the heat/humidity. The parking lot is to the rear of the building, and you have to navigate stairs from the bottom lot to the upper lot. If you have anything heavy or luggage that needs wheeled, you can do so out front and up the ramp, but you can not from the parking lot unless you walk the alley and come up the other side street. The alley, I imagine, would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues.

The room was lovely. Comfortable bed, unique and bright decor, great location. EV charger is a nice touch.

This would have been the perfect stay had it not been for the surprise $75 pet fee. I blame booking.com more than the hotel, since it did not explain this fee when I booked. Despite being a pet friendly hotel, pets aren't allowed in all the rooms, and the room I booked did not actually allow dogs, even though this wasn't mentioned on booking.com. Neither was the $75 pet fee that had to be applied to my $78 room.

The hotel and room are beautiful. The beds were so comfortable, and the decor was so pretty. Everything is very modern with an organic feel. I didn’t use the shower, but it looked amazing. The bathrobes, which we also didn’t use, were a very nice touch.

One of the things I was most excited about was the rooftop restaurant/bar. It is closed for part of the week and the site makes it look like it is open. It would be nice to at least be able to go on top to watch the sunrise. Also our toilet was very “low pressure” and wasn’t flushing properly.

This is a beautiful historic building that has had a thoughtful renovation. The rooms are peaceful and a just a little luxurious. We like having dining on site. The beds are very comfortable and the room temperature was perfect.

I wish there was a better spot for makeup— a wall mounted mirror to get close up would be great!! We were disappointed Catbird wasn’t open because the weather was perfect for it; we also were disappointed that the breakfast was not what we expected. We understand it was a staffing issue but maybe they should have a back up plan other than putting it all in the front desk to handle! (She did GREAT!! She 100% did her best)

Very nice restored historical hotel near the university. Had probably the nicest bathroom in a hotel I've ever stayed in with easily the largest shower I've ever seen a hotel have. Had a small balcony off the room which was great as well - my son loved spending time out there. Room was large and comfortable. Nice on-site restaurants including rooftop bar.

While there was free parking, logistically it wasn't very convenient to the hotel - the traffic flow to access it should be improved. The breakfast, while free, was forgettable.

The grits and selection of fruit was delicious, but the eggs, turkey and sausage were sorely overcooked. There was also yogurt, bagels and pre-packaged waffles. In past, the breakfast goods were definitely fresher, but I know in most places there's challenges with staff shortages and the impact of goods increasing in price.

This is our third time staying here and we look forward to the comfortable accommodations (the shower rocks!), but it was definitely noticeable in the challenge with staff shortage and it felt like when we were at breakfast the lady working was watching everything we were taking from the breakfast area which was a little uncomfortable.

Attention to detail made our stay feel special. I also liked having the dining options at the hotel and the staff was very friendly throughout. I loved the character of the hotel!

The layout of the hotel was a little confusing with the different buildings. Our room also had a very musty odor that was pretty overwhelming. I tried to open the door to allow some fresh air in which helped a little, but it was still pretty musty.

Excellent room with a good shower. Helpful and friendly staff. Good atmosphere in roof top bar.

The dining options were a bit limited in terms of the range food on offer. Breakfast was available in a windowless room below ground level even although a ground floor restaurant with windows was availablefor use. Sitting in the restaurant would have been a much nicer way to start the day.
