We loved the Newport House. John and Kathy were excellent hosts. They were warm and welcoming and had tons of information regarding the area and its history. The property is a quick walk to the historic district. The rooms were extremely comfortable and we had plenty of space. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delightful! Fresh fruit and freshly prepared entree were delicious! John provided entertaining conversation filled with amusing stories from area history. Bonus #1 was little bunny Mae, hopping around the dining room. So cute! Bonus #2 was English country dancing on Tuesday night. We had so much fun learning the dances of the colonial era. Everyone was so understanding and helpful to us beginners. We are ready for a Jane Austen ball! We cannot recommend the Newport House enough!!

Everything thing was delightful. Wish we could have planned to stay longer!

The Newport House Bed and Breakfast is a lovely, quaint place with colonial architecture and furniture to bring you back in time! They also offer colonial dancing on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The hosts were wonderful, educated people who would sit with you at breakfast and tell you about times past! We had a relaxing time and we can’t wait to go back! Thank you John, Cathy and May!!

Honestly, we couldn’t have been happier with our accommodations!

The towels were huge and very soft. The beds were wonderful. Pretty beds and comforters. Lovely wool blankets on the beds that were just the perfect weight and warmth. So much nicer than synthetic blankets. The house bunny, May, was adorable. The host and hostess were very personable and kind. Very knowledgeable about local history. House is very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay and room very much.

The breakfast was awesome with some fresh fruits to start with and pancakes with sausages or waffles with bacon. The location is 10 minutes walk to the Colonial Williamsburg. There was a whole deer family on the way to downtown.

The bathroom floor is a bit cold. It would be great to have some extra mats in the bathroom. No bathtub in the bathroom, only shower.

We had a lovely 4 night stay at the Newport House B&B between Christmas and New Years 2021. The hosts, John and Cathy, were warm and friendly and provided us with delicious breakfasts each morning. We particularly enjoyed John's history lessons, and Cathy's beautiful Christmas decorations. We walked to all the Historic Williamsburg sites and there were many excellent restaurants also within walking distance. We arrived by train and when we were ready to head home, John graciously took us to the Amtrak Station in town. You should definitely consider the Newport House B&B for your next visit to Williamsburg.

Located within a few blocks of Colonial Williamsburg and short drive to Jamestown, beautiful home/furnishings/garden, perfect. Breakfast was unique each day, accompanied with short historical anecdotes.

Beautiful B&B. Our room was nicely decorated & very cozy & clean. Dining table was beautifully set for breakfast & food was very tasty. Owners of the property were extremely hospitable & provided us with interesting information at breakfast regarding the less known history of the Williamsburg area. Would definitely stay there again.

Perfect place to stay

The "property" was beautiful, well appointed in beautiful era pieces and enhanced by lovely holiday decorations. Our hosts John and Kathy were delightful and welcoming. We learned much about the historic period from these two who are exceptionally interesting and knowledgeable. The accomodations were comfortable and a joy to return to after long days of special activities and shopping. Last but not least, the breakfasts were plentiful and delicious! I would love to return to the Newport House in the future and highly recommend it to anyone headed to colonial Williamsburg.

I didn't like that we couldn't stay longer due to our family and work obligations!

So much to say. John and Kathy were exceptional hosts. They were so helpful making the most of the experience in Williamsburg even though I was a former returning student. They shared good stories during the breakfast time that showed their passion for their guests. We learned all about the queen of the house, Miss Mae, and the wildlife in the area. The room was exceptional, so comfortable. We were able to come and go with ease. The location was superb for making the most out of the colonial Williamsburg area.

Not one thing.
