Location, room, serenity, space, view, common spaces, garden, private beach, friendly host. Lovely place to visit.

No AC (but* we could open our space, air it out and use the beautiful open, comfy deck while the room was cooling down, so it was comfortable to sleep). . A small fridge could be handy in the room. Was looking forward to a spa experience. It may be communicated clearer that the SPA is not functioning when booking. The closure of the bistro may also be communicated a bit clearer online. Other than that, we had a pleasant time.

The inn is charming and the location is idyllic. The property manager Charlene was amazing. So helpful, and even took extra time to ensure the room was spotless. It’s clear that while it’s glory days are behind it, the inn is doing its best to provide a relaxing and comfortable stay. Very hands-off with door codes for entry, but that worked for me. Would definitely recommend to a similar person.

It could use some sprucing up. The room price is steep considering the deferred maintenance issues.

What a hidden gem on an amazing island that more people should know about. Peaceful, quiet, clean comfortable, with free sunsets!

The only thing I didn't like was that my family couldn't travel with me on this trip - they would have loved it here!

Breakfast was ok, but would like hot served breakfast better. It was quiet and in a nice location. Nice beach.

Facilities need some replacements, maintenance. Toilets ran all night disturbing sleep a bit, carpet in stairway needs replacement, curtain track in room are worn and hard to close. More chairs on beach are needed. There was only two.

hot water needs to be working. with hot water working all marks I gave would be 10. OR, get the bistro operating. bacon, eggs and hashbrowns and toast in the morning and I'd even not care about the hot water.

Loved sitting on the patio with a glass of wine, watching a whale and the sunset and the birds. Loved the hot tub! Staff was very good! The variety of breakfast items was great. Coffee was good.

The breakfast items, though great variety, could have been better quality, though in the time of Covid it's tough to maintain an inventory of fresh food. And the variety made up for it. The room was typical hotel room thought the bed was very nice, nice sheets and pillows.

Breakfast was OK. Have had far less from larger hotels when it comes to a "continental" breakfast. Management is still getting their bearings while shaking off Covid.... so lots of work put into creating individual servings puts an additional load on already overworked staff. You can trip over to the other side of Portage Bay - stay at another - more modern Inn - pay WAY more and have an absolutely awful breakfast!

One needs to temper their expectations when booking a stay at an older Inn. There are too many variables that are in play when it comes to the aesthetic. If you're expecting The Ritz... go stay at the Ritz. I found good value overall. That said - it's probably a miracle this place survived Covid and there are attempts being made to dust off a bit. Time will tell how long that card can be played as the world returns to normal. All - in - all... it is getting time to hit the refresh button and do some updating while considering the whims of the modern traveler.

What a beautiful view, and convenient for my travels around the island.

The only issue was the ice machine was broken, but Barbara was very accommodating, by making other arrangements.

The staff was wonderful and made us very comfortable. The weather wasn't great so we weren't able to enjoy the beach or any other oudoor activities. We would like to try it again when the weather is nicer.

We wanted an outside hot tub but the pipes got frozen and so we had to take a different room. I think we should have been given a discount for our inconvience.

The location was awesome, our sliding door view and patio view was amazing. We had a hot tub in our room, which was a plus. Our room was very nice. We enjoyed the breakfast, we had bagels with cream cheese and salmon and a nice assortment of fresh fruits and coffee.

We didn't dislike anything. It was a very nice getaway and we really enjoyed everything about our stay. We would recommend it to others.
