My son and I have visited Oglebay many times for the zoo and Christmas lights. This was our fist stay at the lodge. The staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities were top notch and super clean. The Skyline Restaurant was amazing. The indoor pool and arcade were fun. Overall, it was a wonderful trip.

The address provided on Booking.com is slightly misleading. The provided address does not take you to the lodge, It takes you to the outdoor pool facility, which is located directly below the lodge. If one were able to continue past the pool to the lodge, that would be fine. However, you cannot. The entrances are completely different You have to backtrack onto the main road and travel a half mile to the correct entrance. Having visited Oglebay before, I was able to figure it out. However, for those who are less familiar, it might be more difficult.

Property was under renovation so getting coffee was a little less convenient than it probably is normally. It would be nice to offer free coffee in the lobby. Shower was nice, shampoo left my hair shiny. :D I liked the availability of things to do on the property although we didn't have time to do them. We left before the glass museum opened, and I'd be interested in seeing that.

I thought I paid for a lakeview room on booking.com but maybe there isn't a room with a view of the lake and the name is simply 'premium lakeview.' I booked the room for a single night while we were on the highway and I hate using my phone to look for detailed info. Honestly, that wasn't really a problem. This king-sized resort room cost less than a standard king-size room in a city hotel. We arrived at night and it was a little difficult to find our way around the property in the dark.

I LOVED absolutely everything it was perfect the Christmas decorations were spectacular inside and outside of the hotel whomever did the decorations should get a Christmas bonus because that place look amazing and I will be back hopefully around New Years!!

The ONLY thing I’d change in the hotels would be the shampoo, conditioner and body wash if your going to have fancy dispensary you should have better shampoo, conditioner and body wash you also need to add a microwave and fridge other than that you guys rock that is now my most favorite hotel and will tell anyone who will listen about you!! LOVED IT💕💕💕💕

Beautiful grounds, main restaurant was great for breakfast. But pricey

Limited menu for dinner. Could not get in to the restaurant one evening and the hostess knew of no other alternative on the prop, after calling we found there was a lovely Cafe at the top of the hill. Practically empty, fabulous service and food. better than the main restaurant. My complaint is that the hostess should have directed us there. Bathroom was old and tiny

Room was cozy. Bed was comfortable. Beautiful grounds/outdoor patio with live entertainment, excellent cantina food/drinks/ dessert! Lodge is beautiful inside, with several lovely sitting rooms, conference rooms and a pool.

Breakfast buffet was average. Seated in dark bar area when asked if we were on “the breakfast plan” (no), missing the stunning dining room views. Room/bed well-appointed, but had a slight odor of wet dog upon entering. Pretty sure a pup had been the previous guest…. Allergic animal lover—pet friendly rooms should be kept for guests with pets. I’ll ask ahead next time…

The room was clean and very pretty The staff was extremely kind, helpful and accommodating. 88 burgers and brews was exceptional as a stop in between lights for dinner.

The lights display is beautiful but are definitely lacking from the time I was there a few years ago. The skyline restaurant needed a reservation but we were not told that so we had to leave the resort to eat. The beds are pretty uncomfortable.

Nice restaurant and bar, great bartender. Very nice room as well.

There was some kind of coal training convention while we were there, and along about 10-11 pm a group comes down the hall from the likely direction of the bar hoo-hawing like it was reveille, yukking it up and slamming doors, etc. Fortunately it didn't go on for long but pulled both of us out of a sound sleep. Maybe the resort would benefit from separating regular guests from those on "business" travel.

We stayed at Oglebay Resort during the Festival of Lights. The property is beautiful and the drive-thru Christmas lights are some of the best we have seen outside of Dyker Heights in NYC. There are several onsite restaurants to offer a variety so that you never have to leave the resort if you don't want to. There is also live entertainment, movie nights, and several other attractions all onsite to keep you entertained for a short stay. The rooms are comfortable and we love that the resort is pet-friendly.

We have stayed at Oglebay many times over the years. We always look forward to a clean room and relaxing and entertaining getaway. Oglebay always provides this. The staff is wonderful.

We had very loud and intoxicated groups of guys in the rooms near us. They took our porch chairs to their porch so we could not enjoy our outside area. They partied obsessively and loudly throughout the night. Had s difficult time sleeping and staying asleep. We we afraid to complain since it may have been obvious that any complaints would have come from us. I know they left a mess when they checked out so it was obvious to the staff that they were disruptive.

The on-site restaurant glassworks grille was yummy and accommodating, loved the Oglebay burger!! The indoor pool was great with my 3 year old daughter! The coffee shop was great for breakfast snacks and coffee on the go! We loved the rubber flooring in the playground and the lake with swan paddle boats! The good zoo was great!! Resort hiking trails abundant and sweet shop so cute! All well maintained! It was too cold for the outdoor pool but looked so amazing! Our room was a little dated with some stains on the bench at the foot of the bed but overall very nice. They are currently renovating some of the rooms.
