I am delighted to share my review of the San Palace Hotel in Hanoi. Choosing this hotel turned out to be the highlight of my vacation, something I didn't anticipate when making the decision. Upon my arrival at the hotel, I was assisted by the manager named Daff. Right from the beginning, she showed a genuine interest in ensuring my stay in Vietnam was exceptional. She asked about my preferences regarding places to visit and took the time to explore potential excursions with me. She then created a detailed itinerary, outlining the activities and exact timings for each day. Her meticulous planning took away all my worries, and all I had to do was be at the reception on time for my scheduled excursions. Given my tight schedule of only 6 days in Vietnam, this level of organization was invaluable. Daff also went above and beyond by providing me with packed lunches on days when time between excursions was limited. Her thoughtfulness was truly remarkable. Additionally, she recommended the best local eateries in Hanoi and shared insider tips on the most enjoyable spots to visit. Daff also provided me with valuable tips to avoid scams during my stay. The rest of the hotel staff were equally helpful and accommodating. On one occasion, I missed a bus for an excursion as it left earlier than expected. However, the hotel promptly arranged a taxi at their own expense, allowing me to catch up with the bus and join the tour. The beds were very comfortable, providing a restful sleep. In the mornings, it could get a bit noisy due to traffic, but it didn't significantly impact my overall experience. The breakfast was nice. I also enjoyed the cozy and delightful rooftop bar and the small pool at the hotel. It had just the right amount of people, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The view from up there was lovely. The hotel had a good selection of music playing, and what was even better was that it wasn't too loud.

If the hotel's Stars Rating System (1* thru 5*****) would be created not formal, but with grade points weight based on the customer's convenience and pleasure to be a guest, then this hotel must have at least 4* stars. From the moment you come into a cosy Lobby and are met by naturally friendly front desk staff - to the time when you relax at the roof pool with a nice view of Saigon , your stay in this hotel is a true pleasure. The breakfast in the restaurant is very tasty with good selection of tropical fruits The staff is very enthusiastic and ready to spend time to give you a lot of useful advice. . Note. The hotel is underrated

The property was small and nestled in the heart of a busy intersection. They can pick you up and drop you off at the airport so it is very convenient. The staff is very kind and helpful as well as knowledgeable and available at all times. They gave us a welcome drink and mapped out the city for us to conveniently get around. Our room was big and had a view of the city which was lovely but the noise was a little inconvenient at night. Regardless we slept perfectly well and even slept in most days! It was truly a wonderful vacation. Due to sleeping in, we did not have breakfast but it looked like a nice setup. They have a cute small pool on the rooftop and it was a great place to vibe and people watch. We would absolutely stay again.

The only “complaint” I would have would be the room not being “soundproof” as the traffic sound was a little loud.

The hotel is very clean, central and staff super friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations and everything else. We only left Hanoi in the evening after checking out but we could leave our luggage at the lobby and where even allowed to use the rooftop pool and shower the whole day. Tracy and Mike made our stay very nice. 10/10 would recommend

The staff is extremely friendly and helped anytime with organising the shuttles, different tours and was very honest and authentic. Prices for tours are not higher than in other travel agencies (maybe just 1-2 dollars). It was very nice staying here, as you have a pool with a sky bar on top to „flee“ from the hustle and relax a bit. You are in the middle of the old quarter, Train street & ATM is directly nearby. There are back pack travellers staying there as well. breakfast ist good, you have typical Asian food as well as standard continental breakfast. I am going back there when returning to Hanoi, because I had a great time there !

Amazing Staff - particular mention DAFF who completely went above and beyond in managing and exceeding guests expectations. Everyone needs a DAFF in their Hotel. Staff at the Hotel were also very welcoming and friendly with a professional attitude. Extremely comfortable beds, clean and amazing breakfast. I felt safe. Staff also allowed us kindly to leave our luggage on checkout due to a day trip and allowed us to use their complimentary guest shower. Thank you for everything! Choose this Hotel whilst in Hanoi

There is nothing I didn't like

Let's get this part out of the way immediately: the hotel exceeded our expectations, super comfy beds, modern decoration, large room, excelent amenities, etc. Everything great, we would be back without thinking twice. (in fact we went back for our last night in Vietnam) But now let's talk about the staff: THEY ARE INCREDIBLE. Manager Charlie, Jerry, Mike, Leo and the other girls we didn't get the name (sorry) Everyone is amazing from the moment you open the door until you close it on the way out*. * I have to make a very special mention to someone in the staff, someone that made our trip very special even before we got to Vietname and after we went out of that door. In the face of a typhoon, we just panicked and got really anxious because stuff starts to get canceled and ruin your plans. Thus, DAFF enters the scene. She quickly sat with us late in the evening, picked up the phone and made several arrangements - probably in her time off too - so that our plans weren't ruined. She talked with bus and cruise companies, with different hotels in different cities, I don't know, man. She went several extra miles for us. She was amazing and thanks to her, this part of the trip turned out to be just another good story to tell instead of "a typhoon ruined our trip to Vietnam". Dear DAFF, I hope someday you can run your own hotel and we would gladly be your customer. You deserve it. Thank you so much for everything you did for us and I'm sure for other customers too. You deserve a raise, I'm not kidding. Meanwhile, I hope the San Palace Hotel knows how lucky they are to have you in the team. Thanks again to the entire staff for making us feel so welcome. Really lovely hotel in a central old town location with friendly staff. Our room was really big, clean and comfortable and we couldn’t hear any street or other noise. We stayed here twice during our trip (before and after our Halong Bay trip) and sadly had to stay somewhere else after our Sapa leg as this hotel was booked - just noting that as we paid the same at the other hotel but found it loud and not as generally nice as the L’Harmonie!!! definitely recommend. we also were able to get into our room early the first time for $10 extra which was well worth it (8am instead of 2pm) as we also got to enjoy breakfast on arrival morning.

San Palace was very conveniently located in the heart of the French Quarter. It was easy walking distance to many of the local tourist attractions. The roof top pool and bar was a nice place to relax at the end of the day and a wonderful place to view the sunrise of a morning. The pool is not big, but it was enough to cool off in and chat with other guests. The room was very nicely appointed with air con, fridge, tv with streaming services, free wi-fi and a very comfortable bed. We stayed in a room at the front of the hotel and the traffic noise was very noticeable. The staff did warn up about this on check in and did offer us alternate accomodation, but we chose to keep the same room. The breakfast was fresh and tasty. The staff were the best part of our stay. They were so friendly and informative.- espcially Tracey - she was wonderful.

The best place to stay in Hanoi. From the moment of arrival the staff were amazing. Friendly and helpful with nothing being too much trouble. Thoughtful touches like buying bananas because we had asked for them. Pool a lovely addition after a day out. We didn’t book trips through the hotel but spoke to others who had and said they were excellent. Of particular mention Lily- always attentive to your every need and so welcoming. Genuinely warm and interested in your plans and offers of advice Tracy - also so friendly and welcoming. Booked return taxi and sorted bananas! Always smiling Thanh - the chef. What an amazing breakfast. All tastes and cultures catered for and great quality Leo, Charlie, James and Mike - nothing too much to ask of them. So helpful all of the time Daff - didn’t meet her but her help and communication prior to check in was excellent Would definitely highly recommend and would definitely return. Thank you
