We loved our large room with a huge bathroom, and a balcony with a view. This was our first time in Vietnam and so glad we picked Soleil Boutique Hotel. They arranged transportation from the airport to the hotel and were very good about communicating details so we didn't miss finding our driver. I loved going out on our hotel balcony to enjoy the view and the action of the city. Breakfast every morning was great with lots of variety of food. The staff was attentive, friendly, and always willing to help and answer any questions you may have. We enjoyed cocktails at the SkyBar and cooling off in the rooftop pool with the panoramic view. So nice to have the pool after a long hot day of sightseeing. The hotel is just minutes away from Train Street so we went there twice, at night and during the day to get both experiences. We ate delicious Hot Pot just across the Street, to the left, and down a smaller street. We enjoyed spa treatments at the hotel with Anna and Hannah with Leah making sure everything went well. It was easy to get a spa appointment at the time we wanted. Make sure you arrive to check-out in the morning a bit early before you have to leave for your next place. They get busy in the morning and they need to check your room before you can leave. Hanoi is noisy so just know that depending on the room location, you are not going to have a room that is totally quiet because the noise of the city comes through. Lots of sirens and honking. That's just the Hanoi experience. The city does mostly quiet down after midnight and you will be so exhausted from walking and the heat that sleep should come easily. We walked everywhere. It was nice to walk around the city and explore for a few hours. Then have a beautiful hotel to go back to, to shower off the sweat and change clothes, and go out again to experience something different. Love, love, my time in Hanoi, and at Soleil Boutique hotel.

We had an amazing stay at Soleil. The Hotel staff is very well trained and extremely friendly. Whatever our request was, we received prompt and great support by the front desk. The rooftop Pool and bar provide great cocktails as well as an incredible view on Hanoi - you can even enjoy the sunset very nicely here. The spa treatments were very enjoyable and relaxing while also being affordable. The location of the Hotel at the outer rim of the old quarter is still relatively central. Everything in the old quarter can be reached within max 25 minutes by foot (and the area is not small). There are several nice restaurants in the area as well as other nice bars. A busy streetfood area is closeby, worth checking out. The breakfast was of high quality, although more enjoyable to omnivores than vegetarians. Extending the cheese selection by 2 more cheeses, or providing some vegetarian spreads would already achieve a lot in this regard. On a closing note - great coffee. All in all an exceptional stay, we felt very welcome. We cannot recommend Soleil enough.

Please extend the breakfast options for vegetarians - this will only make the stay more exceptional to future guests

Booking the Soleil Boutique for our 1st week in Hanoi was the best decision we could have made! We were in Vietnam for the first time to attend our son's wedding and, from the moment we arrived, we felt we 'cradled' in the caring hands of the hotel staff. Sandy and Eric and the others really looked after us and being in the hotel's environment really helped us to adjust to the very different place and culture that Hanoi is. It was our 'home away from home' - our family base - and, when we left, to move to other accomodation, I just wanted to return. They welcomed not only my husband and I but our whole family and our friends as we prepared for the wedding celebrations. and we felt looked after and safe. They let us meet up in the restaurant area and wait for other members of our group. They were very interested in the wedding celebrations and took joy in our joy. Sandy brightened my days with her greetings and hugs...thank you Sandy! The location was great, the entrance lobby beautiful and calm, with very professional staff, and the whole hotel peaceful and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and I was very grateful to the man who brought me my hot water every morning. The rooftop pool was beautiful - I wished I'd had more time to use it - and the views spectacular, especially at night. Our room was perfect for us, with a huge and very comfortable bed. We really didn't want to leave and felt uprooted when we did. Thank you so much everyone for supporting us and making our first week in Hanoi so special.

Nothing!!

Location is great. Modest butique hotel in main tourstic street in Hanoi. Good for classic touristic shopping, food etc. It is a walking distance from the most of locations (Imperial Citadel, Garden of Literature etc.). Rooms are nice and ok. Most of the staf are more than kind and tries their best. It is a small but nice hotel. There is a small

Only one thing was really bad. I kindly ask Sandy at reception if there is any place where I could change 20-30USD. She said (and that was not true) that it is Sunday so everything is closed. She offered me really bad exchange rate (quite worse then the one I got at Intecontinental a day before) and once more confirmed I can not exchange it outside. After that (lie) i went out and after 1min walk saw that there are many touristic small agencies where you can exchange money with quite better rate. I was really dissappinted because it a small cheating which simply makes all worse than it might be. So don't cheat that way - it is not ok. I came back and said that at reception. I did not get even "I am sorry." Breakfast was also modest but ok. So it is not a real dissadvantage.

We really appreciated the view from the 9th floor. The roof bar next to the pool was fancy and provided great view for the whole sourounding area. And the drinks where actually quite good. The lady at the front desk was incredible polite and clear. The lobby is beautiful. The breakfasts with the street view were served with care. We had a choice of classic European or Vietnamese snacks to grab. And the coffee (american style) was really tasty. There is only 5min walk to the train street that is really worth visiting while train is passing by . The location is one of the best - Old Quarter is within 2 nin walk. We truly enjoyed ty the stay

The room was a biy smaller than I thought and it didn't have a window. But not their fault , as it was clearly written in the room description

Thé hotel is small so the people at the reception really individualize their tips. the personnel is great. the room is a bit small compared to the standards in south east Asia but very clean and the bedding is really really good ! I’ve stayed in other 4 stars hotel in Hanoi for the same price and this is by far the best given the price range !

thé pool is really small and on the rooftop the music is super loud (we would prefer calmer atmosphere after all the honkings noise in the streets)

Bar and upper deck seating area was lovely. Service was excellent & staff were very attentive to any queries we had about visiting the outer areas. 10/10 for a beautiful quaint hotel in the old quarter

Soleil Boutique Hotel is centrally located with restaurants, shops, ATM, etc. around it. The staff are friendly, the rooftop bar and pool pleasant, the beds comfortable. The bathroom was bigger than expected with a tub and shower. The room comes with complimentary water, coffee, and tea. It was kept spotless clean and tidy.

I had to upgrade our room so our son could have his own bed. For the additional price, I find the room too small. The cocktails at the rooftop bar were not so good, and it was served by an unfriendly waiter. I tried smiling at him.several times (he also serves at breakfast), but his mood never changed.

A really excellent place. Fantastic location, lovely facilities and rooms, and very friendly staff who remember you by name and go above and beyond to help you. Particularly enjoyed the very comfortable room, the varied breakfast options and the small rooftop pool for a dip at the end of the day. Nearby you have the full range of options: established places and restaurants through to excellent street food. Very pleased I stayed here and would highly recommend to others.

Nothing major, but the room / water could be a tad warmer during Hanoi's colder weather. To be fair, I visited during the first cold snap so perhaps the systems hadn't been adjusted for the season just yet. Otherwise, this place is fabulous and I would happily return on a future visit to Hanoi.
