Fabulous old colonial building set in well kept gardens. Fabulous staff, so friendly and nicely attentive to your every needs. Food is out of this World. Chef Sin is exceptional….so so friendly and just a happy person.

Hotel Beach area could be better but there is a free daily shuttle bus to white sandy beaches on the east coast 20mins away.

We loved everything! Cute walkways to our room. Lovely yoga space, gym and spa. The food was amazing! We actually took a ride down to the JW Marriot to have dinner. Everyone of our four dinners at La Veranda were better than the seafood platter we had at the Marriot. The people here work so hard and are so kind. It was a pleasure to stay here.

While we were there it was VERY hot. Our air conditioner worked perfectly. It would have been nice if there was a bar or eating space that was air conditioned. Maybe it was difficult because we are not used to the heat… it was snowing at home.

La Veranda truly is a magical place. Sure, as is evident from the pictures, it is an incredibly beatiful place. The idyllic boutique hotel, with its tropical garden and exquisite buildings, overlooks a wide pristine beach where you'll have plenty of space to enjoy the ocean. The main building is gorgeously decorated and it will be impossible to resist having one of the hotel's signature drinks on the veranda overlooking the sun setting in the ocean. The rooms are gorgeous and impeccably cleaned. The food is absolutely amazing. The breakfast is spectacular and was the highlight of our day - the Vietnamese dishes offered at breakfast could compete with most of the dinners we had had during our stay in Vietnam, not to mention the pho. Mix that with a great offering of Western options - do not miss out on the Egg Benedict - and a wide variety of options, coupled with bottled fresh juice, resulted in the most enjoyable breakfast experience I've ever had. Be sure to try out the many great dishes offered at the garden restaurant (Le Jardin) and DO NOT miss out on the Vietnamese buffet offered once a week or so. And, not least, the food at the main restaurant (The Peppertree) will guarantee to blow you away. The complementary daily activities offered by the hotel were really enjoyable and provided a really nice complement and touch to our stay. We made sure to attend all of them - the afternoon tea, the cooking class, the rum tasting were all great. Do not miss out on those, nor the great spa! But what truly makes this place so special is the service. The kindess, attention and hospitality that the staff - all of the staff - at La Veranda shows you will draw you in and make you feel right at home. At the end of the stay, it felt like leaving a family.

Larger selection of Asian fruits for breakfast….lychee, rambutan….and pineapple would have been good.

We loved everything about this hotel. This has to have been the most beautiful and charming hotels we have ever stayed in. It was pure heaven. Every aspect about this hotel was perfect. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, they couldn’t do enough for you. The room we stayed in (Ocean View) was magnificent. The attention to detail throughout the hotel was immaculate and so well thought out. The spa was wonderful, the treatments worth every penny. The food delicious, the beach was a little piece of paradise. Every night we watched the sunset on the beach and WOW we will never forget those sunsets they were so perfect it didn’t feel real. The pool a perfect temperature and beautifully maintained. We loved our stay so much we didn’t leave it over the 4 days we were here and many people we spoke to were staying for 2 weeks and came every year from the UK and Europe. We would definitely like to return for longer some day. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our stay truly magical.

From check-in till check out the ALL the staff were fantastic. Very personal attention, nice welcome drink, excellent bed room, Peppertree restaurant was awesome. Had 2 great spa experiences as well.

Unfortunately the adjacent hotels might get a wee bit noisy early evening (this is a typical Vietnamese hotel management problem thinking that loud boom boom music is welcomed by the tourists while sipping a drink near the bar / beach and enjoying the lovely sunset! Maybe mainland Chinese and Russians love it?) but it doesn't detract from our awesome experience in the very lush surroundings.

People and service orientation make this place exceptional, the team is eager to make your time at the resort simply wonderful and they succeed most of the times. We loved the beach - smooth sea entrance, super clean, well attended, spacious & picturesque; the design and relaxed & elegant air of the property; spa and yoga classes - thank you Thu!; great cocktails at Le Bar; and the eloquent cuisine of the Peppertree restaurant. We visited La Veranda second time after 13 years and were happy to find out that all good things we cherished from our first stay are still upheld. All in all, big warm thank you to Ms Van Cu and her amazing team for taking such good care of us!

The hotel surroundings though have changed quite a bit since 2010. A busy town is just a step away. Noisy and crowded bars on both sides of La Veranda beach, regular smoke clouds from garbage being burnt by locals somewhere in the city.

Simply amazing. There are plenty of brand new hotel resorts on Phu Quoc, where one could stay, but they are all in seperate compounds, often secluded and away from the bustling towns. La Veranda is conveniently hidden in the heart of the bustling town, by the beach, providing a piece of tranqulity and relaxation in the middle of a vibrant surroundings. It is slightly tucked away in the greenery, yet conveniently close to all the shops and infrastructure one might crave or need. Staff is so polite and nice. It feels like they almost anticipate what you need or might want...as one expects of such establishment. Food is in the restaurant is amazing, as well as rich breakfast. Beach is well kept and always saffed with neat bellboys always ready to attend to your seat or deckchair to take your order. The ambient is so classy, unlike all the albeit grand and bnrad new resorts all around this hotel has a soul and atmosphere of old colonial palace. Pool is great. To wrap it up, it was one of the best hotel experience I have ever had, even though I stayed in much more expensive hotels this one manages to create that holiday feel. Well done La Veranda I will be back.

What a beautiful stay! We loved the French colonial style of the hotel. The room was super comfy. The beach and sun loungers were well catered for with more than enough space (unlike the surrounding hotels). Food was great. The best thing about La Veranda is undoubtedly the friendly, genuine and helpful staff. Extra special shout out to Sam, who was so incredibly proactive and attentive - he is a gem! The Vietnamese food experience was absolutely delicious! Madame Catherine's spirit was certainly felt! Will be back!

I had a very wonderful time. I was hoping to relax and be in beautiful surroundings and that was exactly what I got. The best parts were the morning yoga, the lovely breakfasts, sitting on the veranda any time of day or evening. I enjoyed the facial very much, the rum tasting, the Vietnamese buffet. All the food and drinks I had were great - all very reasonably priced. The whole thing was worth every penny for me. It was a lovely experience and I didn't leave the hotel grounds for 5 days. I will remember it very fondly and thank the staff very much for their help (especially with the phone charger) and kindnesses.
