Location was perfect. Waking up to the sights and sounds with a sea front view room was just perfect. We had a family room with 2 doubles. Super clean hotel, breakfast was delicious, lobby comfy and staff friendly. Rooftop Pool, Skylab bar and drinks and food very amazing! Best views! Kids club available, seemed good and super safe for little ones. Beach towels and chairs complimentary across the road at Wave Othon. Also 10% off food.

The bedrooms and bathrooms are a little tired but renovations are taking place. Beds were a little bit bouncy. The pool and restaurant terraces which have been completed are very modern, stylish and have a luxury feel. The room although termed ‘luxury’ was not really but that’s as we expected. Complimentary toiletries are quite low quality, if you’re fussy bring your own.

We didn’t like the renovations with the white net blocking our full view of Copacabana beach from our balcony and also the noise. Skylab Restaurant & pool not available.

Location fronting the beach was excellent. Breakfast was plentiful and diverse. View from the room was very nice. Lots of shops to walk to.

Rooms were a bit dated and had the old power outlets which did not work with new converter I had brought. On the day of my sons wedding, the power went out in the hotel. It was off most of the day. It was a huge inconvenience and caused very difficult situations. The hotel did compensate us for the one day hotel charge so I feel like they did the best they cold to fix the situation. Thank you for that.

Very good for the price, especially given the location on the Copacabana beach side. Booked a junior suite and therefore Skylab for breakfast (great food / service). The junior suite also gives access to an exclusive check in area, where Carla and Welinton were very welcoming and helpful (especially at 9am after 15 hours of travel!). The onsite food and drink options were fantastic and well priced. We spent a lot of time at the pool bar, where the service from Thiago was fantastic and can’t go unmentioned. To conclude, fantastic place to stay. Have a little upgrade work done done on the rooms / lifts and look forward to joining you again soon!

Room needs some upgrading works as it is getting tired / dated in various places. The hotel lifts / elevators need sorting too - many a time we were waiting over 10 minutes for a lift, especially to the Skylab where lift numbers to the 30th floor are limited.

The staff is friendly and welcoming. The breakfast buffet is amazing! The location is perfect for being close to the beach and close to pretty much anything you’d want or need for a few days. The room (deluxe sea view) was spacious and clean. The sunrises are beautiful! The rooftop and pool area is also exquisite! All things considered, it was a great room with a great stay and at a very fair price.

The carpets etc are a bit outdated, but fine overall if you don’t care about aesthetics too much. The wifi is horrible. Didn’t work most of the time. The elevator situation needs work. There are six elevators and either half of them didn’t work, and the other half was slowwwww. I ended up taking the stairs (to the 22nd floor!) one day. There is no airport shuttle, even tho the description says they have one. Instead, they hire a cab for you for an additional fee, which is fine. Except I found out later that the fee (from the company) is 150 Riais, but the hotel sells it to you for DOUBLE (310!!). So…do not book the “shuttle” thru the hotel, it’s extremely overpriced.

The front desk staff, Wanderson, was very nice and accommodating. The hostess on the 3rd floor, Ana Flavia, was a delight to talk to and very nice. Romario, our wait staff, was also very attentive when we ate at the buffet. The location was across the Copacabana Beach and they have a balcony. The room service food were all delicious. We tried ALL their restaurants and they were all good EXCEPT the Pool Bar!!!

Here are a list: DO NOT order drinks at the 30th floor bar near the pool. The bartender were both rude and the drinks were nasty. The strawberry daiquiri drink was half way full and tastes like medicine and not chilled. My margarita was served in a martini glass. Pool at the rooftop was nice but small and smelled like poop. Room a little dated so the air conditioner doesn't work as good.

We got an upgrade from Super Luxury Room with Frontal Sea View to Suite with Frontal Sea View . The view is absolutely fantastic . The facilities must have been exceptional when the hotel was new but now the lack of refurbishmente in recent years shows clearly wich is a pity because due to the location and (for Copacabana) exceptional height of the building the comfort could be exceptional . Breakfast at the Skylab restaurant was exceptional and all meals which we had at this restaurant were very good and also the service . The fitness center of the hotel is so well equipped that it could serve professional athletes . Check-in and check-out were fast and friendly .

As mentioned above , the hotel needs a general refurbishment , especially the rooms . Certain items seem to be overpriced like beveridges from the minibar and the parking facility .

We booked a VIP King room with sea view, so basically the nicest room they have before the Presidential suite. They gave us a corner room on the 25th floor, with an absolutely incredible view of Copacabana and the surrounding area. The furnishings were simple, black and white, with a piano, jacuzzi tub and wrap-around balcony. The space was huge for a Hotel room, more like an apartment. They also have an amazing pool and restaurant on the 30th floor, which is included in the VIP class of rooms. If you can afford the VIP upgrade, it's worth it. And ask for a corner room!

The VIP check-in process was absolutely horrible. We were instructed that our booking gave us the privilege to check-in, in a separate closed room, but it still took then almost 45 minutes to check us in! They offered drinks and some snacks while we waited, but in the end it was simply ridiculous how long it took. The guys was moving like a sloth, complete slow motion. There was always a long line at reception as well, meaning that they have some serious work to do, to streamline the entry/exit process for future guests.

Hotel Othon Rio Palace is very good. The rooms are not luxury but super comfortably. One of the best hotels in Copacabana. Close to tradicional restaurants and bops in this area where you can drink a tasty shop. Shop means beer. The rooftop is beautiful with a view to Pão de açúcar. Tou can make gorgeous pictures from that point. You have many leisure options inside the property. Spa, gym, playground for the kids. De staff is friendly and helps you every time. Breakfast is a topical Brazilian breakfast with cuscuz, pão de queijo and many fruit options. Super tasty!

Behind the door was dirty.

Everything ! The location is perfect , the size of the rooms are big , beds were really comfortable. The staff were always ready to help , checking and out went smoothly . The view from our room was breathtaking , the rooftop is amazing with a full view of Copacabana

The sheets could be in a better shape, some sheets were stained. The sauna and steam room are quite small for a hotel of this size. The lifts were also an issue - especially to get to the common area ( breakfast, swimming pool…)
