Location is stunning, view from infinity pool is beautiful, hotel beautifully designed and staff go out of their way to make your stay a good one

Through no fault of the hotel or it's staff the monkeys are a real problem. They are very skilled at stealing food from the room and their persistence in trying to get food is fuelled by the guests that feed them despite being asked not to. They did get into our room and made an incredible mess and stole all the food and some drinks from the minibar. The hotel were very understanding in it being an accident. However I am surprised that given the monkeys are clearly a problem and becoming more aggressive I don't understand why the edible food is not stored in the minibar fridge and why the fridge is not locked

The hotel is amazing! The location is exclusive and it provides excellent service! The rooms are great with the views. Though we booked a room with forest view, at the check-in we were offered a discounted upgrade to the waterfalls view with Red Level which was totally worth it! The breakfast was the best we had in our 3-week trip around Argentina and Melia did not disappoint us as always! The exclusivity this hotel provides is that you get 1 hour advantage to get to the park and see the waterfalls before the crowd, though it is not advertised (for a good reason!). We had the park for ourselves from 8 am for 1 hour which is totally worth the money the hotel charges, but provides par service for that money! We definitely would recommend to stay there for its excellent service, location and quality. The spa onsite, the pools and terraces are all great too. The animals around the hotel are just amazing and friendly. The final touch - a gift at the end of our stay was just a cherry on a cake. Thanks to all in Gran Melia Iguazu for this great stay!

The communication before arrival could be improved - we had some lack of understanding that we had to buy the tickets for the entrance to the park in advance. As the hotel is situated inside of the park the tickets for the park must be purchased in order to access the hotel which was not clear for us as we thought we could buy the tickets upon arrival. Purchase of the tickets upon arrival is possible (still with a credit or debit card only), but it would have taken us time on our arrival to the hotel as we would not be able to access it. If this could have been explained clearer we could avoid a number of exchanges of the emails. Otherwise, everything was great!

First and foremost the location is second to none. You walk straight into the key trails from the hotel and the pool has a magnificent view of the falls. It was worth staying purely for the views and access. You can see the refurbishment was concentrated in the communal areas which were nice. Other highlights were cocktails and restaurant staff. The roof top bar was lovely, they had a DJ which created a nice atmosphere.

Unfortunately the quality of the refurbishment was not reflected in the rooms, for the money they were very basic and somewhat old. Whilst the staff were generally lovely the reception staff could have been more forthcoming with help and information and at points we felt rushed and like we were bothering them asking basic questions. Finally the quality of the food is not what you expect to find in a 5* hotel, the room service was extremely poor, verging on inedible. We had dinner in the restaurant the 2nd night which was much better but still over priced for what we had.

Had half board and the Red Level snacks, we were covered for drinks and food it felt like an all inclusive. The buffet breakfasts has lots of really good options. A la carte dinner was excellent. There is a lovely rooftop bar (not include) and pool bar, lots of options. One of the biggest pools in a hotel I have seen, great for swimming or just hanging watching and hearing the falls. You can just walk into the national park walks, get ahead of the crowds and be back before noon and go cool down by the pool.

Not much to add, there hallways need an update and perhaps better AC (the one in the room was perfect) but otherwise every detail was taken care of

Perfect location, good restaurant, helpful staff, roof bar is great.

Access is not easy, this is because of locatlon and they already made some warnings, but still not ok. Besides you do not.have any advantage staying in the park in terms of access, again this is not the hotels fault, the park is not as organized as Brazil side.

Really liked the professionalism about the property. our server in the dining hall was incredible. We are quite a simple couple and were well looked after by her similar to the lady at check-in. We did hope to tip more at dining alas we were unsure of local currency for it. So Kudos for hiring such incredible staff. The property is located right next to the trails upper and lower so an early morning start wills definitely get you to places. We do hope to visit the hotel again some point in the future or keep coming back to it.

The rooms do feel a bit small and the jungle view may not seem like what you expected. Some more detailed options of the view would help. Do ensure that you check on your transport and cost to and from the hotel as this may be a bit of an unplanned surprise.

This hotel is breathtaking - just like the pictures. Its selling point is obviously that you are inside the national park and are therefore able to access the waterfalls earlier than outside guests - we went round the trails at 8am as soon as they opened and got amazing pictures (once they were open to the public it got really busy really quickly). Because of where it is, you are pretty much at the mercy of the hotel once you get here so do have to eat here (or make a significant effort to leave the park) - but we expected this after checking it out on maps before booking. The restaurants and bars are expensive, but equally we expected as much from both the price of the room and the pictures of the hotel - it is obviously a premium place ! I would say that staying here was such a rare and incredible experience that we were happy to turn a blind eye to the cost and enjoy ourselves - and the evening meal we had here was excellent. Breakfast was also great and there was a huge range of different options as well as an omelette bar. Our flight wasn't until 6pm but we were able to leave our bags and make use of the pool (which is incredible - and has such an excellent view of the waterfalls) for the rest of the day, and then use the gym showers (which also had hairdryers) before leaving so we really made the most of all of the facilities. I would definitely recommend to anyone coming to the Argentinian side of Iguazu to stay here !

Not something we didn't like but just a tip for others - we received a message from the hotel the day before arriving advising us to purchase tickets to the park before we got there, so make sure you check your messages in advance to do the same (although we were never actually required to show our tickets).

An amazing hotel, super luxurious and perfectly located, just a few hundred meters from the trails. There is staff everywhere and they arme exceptional, at the reception, in the restaurants or by the pool. The room we had was fairly large with a king size bed that is super comfortable. If you stay at this hotel, it is clearly to be in the park and benefit from being the first one on the trail in the morning. It feel like you are alone enjoying the falls if you venture at 8:00. If you wait later, then the crowd coming off the train will be there and spoil what can be a magic experience. The restaurant offers superb meals and the breakfast is nothing comparable to the usual at any other hotel in Argentina, super varied for everyone’ s taste.

Yes it is expensive… Is it worth probably 4 times the cost of other hotels outside the park, it is for you to decide…

Stunning hotel with magnificent view of the waterfalls. This creates a very special ambience. Just staring out of the windows is a pleasure. If you can, it is worth it to stay in a room overlooking the Falls. The fact that you can walk to the Argentine side of the Falls directly from the hotel, without having to go in and out of the national park, makes seeing the Falls very easy. The infinity pool is wonderful, a good length for doing laps and shallow enough for those who just want to stand and look at the view while they cool off. The staff were at all times efficient and helpful. Nothing was a trouble to them. The food in the dining room was excellent, although a little expensive. If you would want to eat in local restaurants it is quite a drive to the township. We would loved to have stayed longer. A unique world class hotel.

In our room the basins in the bathroom were too high making them difficult to use. They had been placed on top of a 90cm vanity. I think the bathroom vanity had been designed for recessed sinks.
