Breakfast

Although I had provided my credit card number to reserve the room I intended to pay by debit card. On checking I was told $100 bond was being held on my credit card but nothing about payment for the room. Upon checking out I attempted to pay using my debit card but was informed full payment had been charged to my credit card on checking in. I was not advised of this and did not authorise it. The additional charge is not huge but is annoying that I had to pay it when I shouldn’t have.

The food was great, and the staff were very friendly. The room itself was quite large and very clean. I liked that the alarm clock was also a charging station for your phone. I felt safe and comfortable, and there was onsite parking. I liked that all the information about the room and hotel was digital via the TV, however I could see how this could also be an issue for those not digitally inclined.

I didn't like that you walked through the restaurant to get to the swimming pool, and the pillows in the room were too hard. There were 4 pillows per bed (double) and they were all hard. It would have been better to have two hard and two soft to allow people to swap if needed.

Honestly we couldnt fault it, We have been to Darwin many times and have now found the best hotel to suit all our needs. Location, cleanliness, 24/7 concierge if needed, laundry and gym facilities, Pool is at a perfect temperature to swim at any time of the day.

This is being very picky though but could be an issue with other customers... was one of the male bartenders doesn't now what a full glass of wine is or should be...

everything was lovely, friendly accomodating staff, the foyer was clean and smelled really nice, all the areas were lovely,fresh,crisp, clean,all the staff were amazing, I booked my daughter and her partner in here for Bass in the Grass Festival and even though they are only young(18), they were not made to feel like kids or treated less than adults, they loved all of the hotel, the breakfast was a highlight, the pancake machine was a favourite..:-), this is a really nice clean refurbished family hotel, the pool area is nice,and its so close to everything, easy walk everywhere, thank you so much and will recommend to all of our friends for a lazy weekend or a work trip..

All of it was wonderful. Even as we had a hiccup with our keycards not working properly, the staff were patient and very kind about everything. Ten out of ten.

The staff are gorgeous, so friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean, and I asked for lots of pillows which were on the bed when I arrived. There is a snack bar in the lobby which is handy as most flights come in late so you can grab a bite with ease before going to bed. The pool was perfect, plenty of space and shade which you need in the NT heat. The refurbishment of the hotel has been done well - and the bed was comfortable.

No water in the fridge in the room and I wasn’t sure if it was ok to drink fm the tap ad there wasn’t any signage. Housekeeping starts early and I wasn’t advised and was woken up by them one morning.

It was close to the park and our kids could play The rooms were clean and staff very friendly

This is my second time staying at the property and I must say I am a bit disappointed that we always encounter during those stay. First stay- we encountered domestic violence in the passage where police was called. Second stay- we couldn’t sleep from the noise caused by people who were on the same level. The noise sounded like people were under influence swearing and loud noises. I tried to ring the receptionist and no one answered the phone. This was between 1am -3 am. The noise continued and I feared for my life to even go downstairs to inform the staff as there were not picking up the call. In the morning, I I formed staff and I was told no one had complained.

This is an older hotel that has been refurbished. The room was very nice and modern inside and the beds very comfortable. The balcony is very small and had a view of the back of the hotel where the loading docks were, however we could see the ocean at a stretch. The balcony was not really big enough for any furniture other than a single chair. The breakfast was excellent, except the main cook on the days we stayed seemed very unfriendly towards many of the guests and seemed to just grunt at people who were asking for foods to be topped up. All other staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. It was lovely to have breakfast by the pool. The location was excellent being just around the corner from the main street where there were lots of restaurants and bars with happy hours and meal deals each night. The hotel was also central to everything and we were able to walk to most places.

The air conditioning in the room was freezing and was unable to be modified even though there was a control panel. It was so cold that I needed to request blankets for the bed and was actually uncomfortable in the room most of the time due to this. If you feel the cold this hotel may not be for you. I would say the temp in the room was about 16 degrees.

Good size room and well equipped. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very adequate. Reception staff were very efficient, helpful and friendly.

There was a lack of staff in dining room at times and not efficient clearing of tables and used crockery. Could have been much more efficient with more staff. Definitely understaffed! However, staff were very pleasant and helpful.

The staff were absolutely lovely and went above and beyond. One of them fixed up my conference name tag which ripped almost immediately, and it then held up perfectly. It was a random request that i was so happy they could help with. If I was ever unsure of anything I felt comfortable asking the staff and they were always happy to help. The room was extremely spacious, clean and got lots of beautiful light in the morning. The air conditioning worked perfectly. The pool was incredible, such a reprieve from the heat. It doesn't get as much sun as the pool at DoubleTree Hilton next door. Best time for a swim is morning-midday, as there's no afternoon sun. The buffet breakfast was also consistently good and delicious. I'm gluten-free and I still had heaps of options.

Bed was a bit springy and not the most comfortable. Also the casting app on the TV didn't work well at all, the stream would cut out every 10-20 seconds, so resorted to watching stuff on my laptop. The addition of a drying rack in the room would be extremely helpful, particularly for being able to dry off swimmers. A bathroom fan would also be good - I had to shower with the door open to minimise the condensation.

The breakfast was really good, the pool enjoyable and the rooms really comfortable. The cleaner did a terrific job every day.

Water pressure not good. At breakfast there were times you had to order for the bacon, eggs etc. which made the experience a bit confusing. Also, I would love to have a little bit more variety on the cheese and hams.
