The location is perfect! Right in the center, close to everything at a walking distance. The common kitchen is very well equipped. The outside area is gorgeous, surrounded by nature. It is a 1-min walk to Woolies, which made life really easy. The transfer we hired from/to the airport stops just about 200m down the road. Clean showers and toilets. There was a mini fridge in the room.

Small and dark bedroom, not very spacious. Bed was not so comfy. It's ok if you're gonna be out and exploring the whole day and you're going "home" only to sleep. There was loud music/people from the bar in front (connected to the property). However, I believe these factors wouldn't prevent me from staying there again. It's a good value for money overall.

The air conditioning and the room was comfortable and the location is fantastic. There is a busy bar at the front but we were not disturbed at all in the rooms. They also have some awesome live bands which are fun to listen too while cooking :)

The WiFi is pretty terrible in the rooms. The kitchen is not air conditioned and left open which is quite uncomfortable in the heat. We also saw at least 3 rats (outside the buildings), we mentioned this at reception and they assured us it was not a problem as it is a rainforest area and they could not gain access to the buildings, but it was still a bit worrying to see.

Perfect location, on the main strip and close to the beach and Lagoon. Some of the staff were really friendly and helped us to arrange our boat trip. Cool setting in the trees.

Very loud music from the bar, which is also called Magnums, but was made very clear to us that they were not connected and it is not a party hostel. Some of the kitchen appliances didn't work at all on one half of the kitchen. The fan in the bedroom was right under the light, so made it quite difficult to be around if the fan was on. When we were checking out one staff member was quite rude saying that we would be trespassing if were to use the kitchen facilities once we'd checked out. Seemed quite over the top given we just wanted to make some lunch before leaving for the airport.

Communication was awesome, nothing was too hard, and if there was anything needed it was sorted and i was felt satisfied. great customer service and my time was amazing, i definitely will be back again. Too be honest we stayed at a 5 star resort before hand for the week, but we wanted to be closer to town and also have a bit of fun, our stay at magnums exceeded expectations and if we could go again we would of stayed at magnums the complete stay. great time

everything was excellent, probably the only downfall but was only an issue as the way my partner and i had packed was a bit more room to lay down a suite case on the floor, but was easily solved laying on the bed and packing away before bed

Amazing location, right in the middle of town and next to the supermarket, but somehow secluded in the middle of the forest. Was very cool walking around the hostel itself, and lots of fun wildlife to see! Great facilities- spacious/well equipped kitchen, laundry, BBQ area etc and bathrooms were clean. AC in the room was a godsend.

Kitchen is only open 7:30-9pm which is quite annoying if you’re an early riser (or a night owl!). Similarly, bag drop is only open 8am-5pm (8pm if you ask reception), so need to be quite organised if stir in your bags for a boat tour the day after.

- could hear people whilst we were in our room at around 5am which unfortunately woke us up - bit pricier than rooms we are paying for on our road trip down Queensland, but still would absolutely recommend!

Lovely feel staying among the trees. The private rooms were great and the showers and toilets were clean. Fridge and crockery in the room was very handy. The kitchen had good facilities and plenty of space to cook and eat. We enjoyed using the bbq area which included bbq utensils! It was easy to leave our bags here while we went on our Whitsundays overnight trip. Really helpful staff who let us check in early after an over night bus was a huge bonus!

The kitchen closes at 21:00 and opens at 7:30am which meant we couldn’t wash up properly after our bbq or access the kitchen before leaving for our 7am bus.

We loved our stay. It was very convenient, in a great location close to the supermarket, pharmacy, the beach, pubs etc. The staff was very friendly and caring. But mind that, at the end of the day, it is a hostel so expect to have it full of young people thirsty for partying and having a good time. We found it very loud the first night (although it was the first night of the Easter holiday) but we told reception the next day and they got us moved to a more quiet place for the rest of our stay. Much much better. We honestly we had the best time and regardless the first night, the staff was very understanding and helpful. The common areas were very clean.

The location was excellent, everything was within walking distance to shops, restaurants, the beach, bike paths and the marina. The staff provided fantastic service, very friendly and helpful (big shout out to Jules!!)The cabin we stayed in was very clean and had everything we needed. Lots of space to put your luggage in, beds were comfortable and clean.

Cabin - The only thing I didn’t like was the door into the bathroom, it would be better if the door went to the floor (for more privacy). Possibly the shower head could do with an upgrade.

Perfect location, unique setting and layout, helpful and friendly reception staff, really appreciated the luggage storage either side of my stay, decent bed and enough space in the room for a solo traveller, bathroom facilities were always available and clean enough when I wanted to use them, kitchen was clean and tidy

Poor mobile and data reception, WiFi also didn’t really work in my room. I didn’t mind the noise from the pub as that was to be expected on a Saturday night but the walls between the rooms are paper thin. Other reviewers have mentioned the noise from the fridge and whilst it didn’t bother me that much I can see how it might disturb a light sleeper. I didn’t go and see the rec/tech room so might have missed something there but I didn’t pick up on an overly social vibe or any signs to highlight social activities on the night that I stayed, not sure if this is something offered here.
