All good thank you.

The pools towards the back of the resort need to be checked more frequently. I had to go to the desk to let them know there were drunk adults in there with children being extremely loud and also pool lounges going in the water. Not enough supervision from the adults with young children especially with alcohol in their systems. I was extremely concerned as i saw other families walk away with their children due to this behaviour. I am a trained lifeguard and run my own swim centre so fully aware of what was going to be a dangerous situation. Staff did take my concerns seriously luckily. I hope this is now supervised more regularly by security or someone trained to identify these things.

I liked the frog I saw when I was in the pool. It climbed up my arm.

I didn't like the news I watched on the television there about the people in Melbourne who were running over cyclists. Truly horrible horrible people live in this world. I do hope they are caught and serve a sentence for there crimes and became properly rehabilitated and when they get out become outstanding members of society and find good jobs. Also a gecko got into the room one night and my wife woke me up and asked me to get it out. I was tired so I went back to sleep and the gecko didn't harm anyone which was good.

the resort was SO clean the pool, the gardens the rooms. Such lovely grounds and resort, and Cafe Flamingo was great value, with great service. Overall it was. really pleasant stay, and easy to escape all the kids staying in the resort, as there is plenty of space and quiet areas/

the reception staff were not as friendly as elsewhere in the resort, and could do with a little training on Cairns as a tourist location. I have never been to Cairns, and every question i asked them, they either gave me the wrong answer, which led me astray and wasted my time nor did they know. And on check in they were not very friendly.

It’s only short drive from the airport and the city centre. Restaurant is lovely and food/drinks really good. Rooms are modern, spacious and very clean! 3 swimming pools…my kids absolutely loved it! There’s also a guest laundry / dryer on-site which is very handy. It’s $5.20 per wash and dry! Staff are wonderful and very helpful!

There’s quite lots of refurbishment/ work going on…they are updating their rooms atm and one of the main restaurants

The property was lovely and well equipped as to what we would need. Lovely warm shower with good pressure and air-conditioning which worked very well. Amazing pools and out door areas.

The arm chair beds in the living room were rather uncomfortable and squeaked a lot. We also had an issue with cockroaches coming up the drains from our bathroom. Unfortunately on a couple of mornings - the daily cleaners arrived before 8am and woke us up, with one morning they even did not wait for a reply and proceeded to enter into our room despite us all being asleep in bed still. This hotel is also quite far out of Cairns central so if you aren’t up for a 20-30 minute walk then best not to stay here.

Room located overlooking the pool Room, whilst could have some updating, it was roomy, clean and comfortable Breakfast was optional. Breakfast could be purchased from the open air restaurant (located overlooking the pool and beautiful green native plants and vegetation) Breakfast was al a carte, expensive but tasty. Still very enjoyable

Hotel didn't have a shuttle service from the train station, as my only mode of transport was the local bus service or taxi/uber. Walking distance to the nearest bus stop was 10mins walk and the average cost of the taxi/uber was $12-$24 to travel 8km - 10km to central city and all the tourist terminals eg. Marina

It was a 10/10 stay for us we had a great experience and was so grateful for the amazing service we received. Also we wanted to say a massive thank you to Stuart he was so accommodating and very friendly while we were there and was very accommodating towards us and our friends who also stayed there. Thank you for going above and beyond and making sure our stay was great and allowing our mates to book the room right next door to room 320. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Cairns Colonial to everyone.

Everything was great from the food, staffing and service we couldn’t fault anything during our stay.

Family friendly. The bed is comfortable. Have laundry facilities on site that use a debit or credit card only need to bring washing powder or capsule. Onsite restaurant is good and swimming pool good for family. The room privacy is good because the wall is thick so you can’t hear your next room noise or the other guest conversation. Staff are helpful and friendly.

The location. Need a transport to get around & public transport is not close by so you need to rent a car. We booked this place because we thought they have the shuttle to the city as used to but not anymore. You need to prepare at least $15 one way to get an Uber or $25 for a taxi just to get to the city. One way transfer from airport to property will cost $44 for 2 people by share shuttle. No microwave in the room but they have it in lounge room close to the reception that for public use and only 1 microwave. No supermarket close by either so you need to go to the city to get your supply like water or food if you are in budget unless you have spend money for food that at least $15 for breakfast and more for lunch or dinner/person

About the bed. I asked for single or double, whatever was available since they can't give you just a single bed. It's a pity single people can't have lower cost for accommodation, but I can see why. you need a room for 2, you need a room for 1. Though i kept correcting my booking to 1 adult, it kept changing back to 2 anyway, so I guess there's no "single" booking. Oh well, as everyone's saying at the moment "It is what it is".

Too far from Anderson Road which I presumed from the map would be a bus route, but then that's no criticism of your place, it's my breathing (since) COVID and my ability to walk, the problems.

Great location, clean, polite staff

Disappointed the slide wasn't open for the kids for the majority of our stay one of the main reasons we booked for the kids and the swim up bar was also closed the whole time of our stay another reason we choose to book here, False advertisement. I feel they should have something on there site telling customers what time of the year this is closed to save disappointment on arrival and be told its open on busy times, well the resort looked liked it had enough people in it to be open as other people staying were also disappointed other than that I would have rated it a 10.
