We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was a good size and worked well for our family of 5. Good location, easy parking, great heated pool which the kids loved, and the gardens were closely attended to and looked immaculate. No problems with the wi-fi and casting from my phone to the tv.

There were only 4 sofa seats which meant the kids argued every day about this because there were 5 of us. Very dated furniture but all made to last, so would have been better if more modern but really didn't matter when we got used to it. We were on the 2nd floor so had no view of the beach or the sea, which we were disappointed about.

The unit was in a great location with an easy walk to most facilities. The washing machine and dryer was a bonus.

The unit (privately owned but managed by Southetn Cross Apts) was showing its age and had quite a few broken or damaged fittings. Although it gets a basic clean before each new guest, it really needed a thorough clean (we found rubbish and clothing between the couches. Under the beds were filthy).

Standard two bedroom, we booked , below quality expected as seen in photos and dirty. No tea or coffee available on arrival. Complained the next day to reception, Her attitude cool and unsympathetic. Needs a lesson in public relations or replacing.

Southern Cross Beachfront Apartments are located on the Esplanade in beautiful Burleigh Heads. We enjoyed an uninterrupted view of the beach from our spacious apartment of a week. It was well equipped with everything you might need.

The nearest shopping is more than a short walk away. A nearby 7-11 was handy for basic items.

Clean, spacious, fully equipped kitchen with washer and dryer, air conditioned (living room only), and the amazing beachfront view which we enjoyed every sunrise and sunset. Children love the heated pool, and jacuzzi. There is also a self-sufficient gym, table tennis and tennis courts available. Check in is fuss free, and staff is friendly.

Though the apartment is very clean, not a slight of dust, the furnishings are slightly dated, and the bathroom taps are leaking if not turned off tightly.

Only on 2nd floor so not that great in views, did book superior 2 brm with ocean views. Workers were renovating above us and started 7am. No starter pack given when arrived although told when checking out we should of received.

The unit we were in needs updating. Musky smell everytime we entered. Black mold on the curtains and ceiling in main bedroom. Toilet leaking, think it needs a new cistern.

Fabulous location and convenient to everything. Plenty of on-site activities for visiting family members. View is to die for.

I was disappointed in the mismatched glassware and china - looked liked everyone’s discards including pub glasses. For a “luxury “ apartment it would have been nice to at least have some decent matching glassware. It was chilly in the apartment so some lightweight doonas would have been nice instead of the acrylic blankets provided.

Apartment overlooked the long scenic beach front. The beachfront walkway north and south was wide, shaded and flat. To the south the walkway took 15 mins to reach the town centre which has numerous cafe's and clubs.

Burleigh Heads offers a range of cafe's and clubs the menu"s of which have similar foods. For older people who prefer restaurant style eating with al carte menus there are not many choices.

Read the reviews! I did before we booked so knew that if I wanted a modern apartment I needed to book a Superior Room- which we did. Loved our stay. Location was fantastic! Great view of the beach from our fourth floor apartment. Right across from the beach entrance. Spacious, Foxtel on the TV so cartoons for the kiddo. Swimming Pool was fantastic, didn’t use the indoor spa or sauna but saw these facilities. Gym with a treadmill, cross trainer, cycle, some weights equipment and yoga mat etc. I was worried because some people have reviewed this place not great on occasions. This was not our experience at all. We found the managers very helpful (I reported an issue and it was dealt in less than 24hours- took my four days to report it to them because it didn’t impact us really). They let us check in early (12noon) due to having a two year old. The apartment was clean enough, no different from Air BNBs I’ve stayed in. I feel like other reviews have expected a hotel experience from booking serviced apartments (I.e expecting complimentary shampoo etc). We just went to the supermarket and got everything we needed on the way. I expected a more outdated main building area from the reviews, but it did not experience it like that. Yea the building is older, but it certainly did not affect our stay in any way. There is a tonne of information in the basement/ carpark of things to do in the surrounding areas (so helpful). I didn’t see what the Standard Rooms look like but we were certainly very happy in our Superior Room and I would definitely stay here again. I booked a room without aircon as I checked the weather temps for October and this was very suitable for us. I didn’t even turn on the fans which were available in the living area and both bedrooms.

The wifi isn’t fab, however again I knew this before staying here from reading the reviews so wouldn’t have booked it if this was one of my top priorities. I’ve stayed in many accommodations in many countries where the wifi is often not ideal.
