Great location. Close to our sporting tournament. Excellent restaurant with great wait staff.

The restaurant could do with some professional sound adjusting. They need some sort of acoustic product on the floor or ceiling to help with the overbearing loud and unpleasant noise in the main dining area. It is very hard to have a normal volume conversation. This restaurant would win major awards if the noise was addressed. I also had a problem with the large number of cigarette butts on the grass area outside the rooms. Yes, ashtrays were supplied however it appears that some smokers prefer to throw their "butts" over the balcony onto the grass. This will not deter us from returning.

This hotel is great value for money and is located in a quiet spot near the beach and a park. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms and balcony are of a good size. The restaurant food is excellent - with several menu choices. There is also room service.

Although it didn't affect our stay the bedrooms and bathrooms could do with some modernising/ redecorating. Visitors should also be aware there are no bars/ restaurants to walk to so a car or taxi required.

I loved sitting on the balcony listening to the live music in beer garden area. Once sliding door is closed the noise is very well blocked out. Great atmosphere and perfect location with plenty of room for families on the grassed area at beach front. This place is location plus

Nothing to not like. Great rooms, food available, great breaky, 24 hr reception. Very welcoming. Carparking area could be a little bigger, that's a minor thing though. We will definately return again

The location and value for money! Breakfast downstairs was delicious and for the most part, staff was extremely kind.

Our room didn’t have an aircon remote and the room got extremely cold at night! Our second day we went for breakfast and our food came out cold, we sent it back and it took them over half an hr to bring our breakfast, by which point everyone else had finished eating and had to wait around for us. The food was delicious but was disappointed with the service at this point. Staff seemed overwhelmed and frustrated during this breakfast period too.

This is a very old hotel but it has been looked after and hopefully being fully renovated I actually prefer this hotel in mackay over some of the so called higher rating ones Location is quite good The restaurant in my dealings was entirely acceptable great location atmosphere meals fine

Perhaps curtains blockout new modern and even blinds

Great sized family room suitable for us 4 with a balcony to enjoy a cool beverage at the end of the day. Complimentary washing machine and dryer was a HUGE hit as our stay was to attend a child's sporting event. Lots of sweaty clothes! Also when I called the hotel to enquire about the contents of the Family Room, I was told limited kitchen facilities, BUT it was a great sized kitchen with plates/bowls, cutlery. Wish I'd known for I didn't have to bring our own along.

Unfortunately the pool was not ready, it is currently under construction. This was a little disappointing for my younger child who was looking forward to the lovely pool shown on the pictures!

Location was beautiful. Food was outstanding. We had many cocktails, all were well made, tasted Devine. The most impressive part was the staff. Attentive, friendly, helpful, smiling, everything you could want. Excellent service from start to finish. Lots of outside areas to sit, eat and relax. Inside well presented, lovely and clean, air conditioned. Would go back in a heart beat.

Our room was a little outdated. Could do with a refresh, a few more pillows would of been nice. However, it was clean and the block out curtain were appreciated.

We had breakfast there every morning it was excellent each time. The size of the meals & presentation was amazing. I would go there for meals even not an in house guest. The live music & pizza on Friday & Sunday night are a real bonus.

Lovely stay at Ocean International, sorry we could only stay one night . Very comfortable , large room ground floor with door to a park at the back of the property. Restaurant overlooking the pool , was lovely . Food was very good, shared entrees a prawn tortellini, chicken pasta rotolo and a pork belly all were delicious.

Everything was great. there were 3 couples travelling together and as we were all staying 8 nights we all booked family suites for a little extra space. The rooms were great, clean, beds comfy and the staff were amazing. Great to have a laundry that we could use free of charge. We dined at the restaurant a couple of nights and it was great, awesome food and again the staff were amazing. The hotel is right on the beach which was perfect for walks.

Only problem was that the pool area was not finished, as with all works going on at the moment. It will be amazing when it is finished.
