Regal Port Douglas staff were just wonderful - couldn't do enough to be helpful, both before and during our stay. Location - perfect! Can walk to all venues in town; Room - fabulous! Private spa on front deck, kitchenette and separate bedroom all felt very comfortable and luxurious; Pool - we used it, beautifully kept (even though slightly older decor!), and just like all north Qld pools at this time of year, the water was very warm!!

We didn't understand from website information that there were no lifts on the property. With 3 out of 4 of us nursing knee/hip/back injuries, those stairs were hard work!! The split level took a bit of getting used to - either going up to go down, or down to go up, to get from rooms to pool or underground carpark. (This is the ONLY negative for us)

Amazing location - short walk to beach , shops, restaurants - everything you need. Pool was great, warm and lots of chairs. Foxtel in the rooms! Spa on the balcony, tv could swivel on the wall mount so you could watch a movie from the spa! All basic necessities and products for kitchen and laundry. Secure free parking. Comfy beds.

Only stairs, no ramps for the pram. Hallway / walkway lights stay on all night which lights up the bedroom because of a window onto hall.

Best part was our room location. We had a choice from the ground floor and the corner high floor. My partner chose the high. The whole apartment was large and roomy. The balcony was very nice to sit out in with the cool night thundery breeze. Very clean and comfortable. Great customer service also.

When my partner chose the high floor we didn't realise we had to climb stairs. Unfortunately, with my aching joints, my body struggled up and down to and from our room. Also, the shower is situated in the spa tub and that was also a struggle to get in and out.

The location was excellent: just off the main street, Macrossan Street. There were plenty of places to eat right round the corner, and along Macrossan Street. The inlet was a short walk down Macrossan Street in one direction, and the ocean beach (with a lifeguard on duty) was a short walk down the street in the other direction. So the location is ideal for those without a car, though I think parking was free at the hotel, and they also advertised rental cars at a good rate for those who want to see the hinterland. The bed was very large and comfortable, and the balcony offered a place to sit and eat, drink (and smoke if that is your thing). The bathroom was very roomy with a large spa bath. The pool and the surroundings for relaxing were fine.

The room was not large, with only limited space for suitcases, etc. I'm not sure I agree with the description of the room as a studio apartment. The definition given in the dictionary is "A studio apartment typically consists of one large room that serves as the combined living, kitchen, dining, and bedroom." Though the room did provide cutlery and crockery (plates, dishes etc) and a toaster and electric jug, some people (not us actually) would perhaps like a microwave or something similar. Also the size wouldn't really fit the definition of studio. Nonetheless, the balcony does provide a nice place to eat and drink. The only other downside is that the spa bath also serves as the shower, and it is a big "climb" to get into it. Fortunately it seems to be non-slip.

The apartment is not new, but it was well kept. Location - Excellent. Right at the heart of the town. Walking distance to restaurants, shops and marina wharf Jacuzzi on the balcony Room size was excellent Cleanliness - excellent Toiletries starter pack was great. Washing Machine was really helpful Kim (at the reception) is really helpful and friendly and helped to book shuttles from Cairns. She provided useful information about restaurants in the area before we arrived.

Bed - the room which we got, the bed was on the soft side.

The location was awesome and the staff were so kind and helpful. Everything was very clean. We enjoyed lounging on our balcony.

We chose the property because it included a washing machine and dryer but it wasn't clear on the booking that those would not be in our room and come at an additional cost. It also wasn't clear that aspects of the stay were self catered, such as toiletries and rubbish removal. None of this was a big deal! Just would have appreciated more clarity about these before booking.

Location was perfect being just off main shopping/ restaurant area and half way between beach one way and Marina other way. All an easy walk. Sitting room with books and dvds plus able to fill drink bottles with ice cold water.

Due to convalescing struggled a bit with luggage on stairs. Door to balcony was difficult to lock. We enjoyed eating out mostly but a little more space to prepare snacks would have been good too.

Beautiful hotel, exceptionally clean, friendly, warm, welcoming staff with extra care and attention, up to date room eith all you could want, quailty house pack included and plenty of towels, and the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in with the best customer service. We loved the quality spa bath in our spa studio room, a beautiful large deck area too! Lovely pool and layout, enjoyed an evening swim it was pretty and warm! Room was very private and comfortable and the hotel is right in the centre of town, perfect location and undercover parking. If I could give 10 stars I would. Definitely choose the Regal Port Douglas, lovely couple Kim and James that will ensure you have a wonderful stay here.

We had been guests at the Regal before and really liked the location The rooms were spacious and clean and we were able to make ourselves at home It was great to have a washing machine and drier, and the spa was relaxing Great pool, clean and refreshing. The fresh linen and towel change was lovely Kim was very welcoming and made us feel liked valued guests

I guess the stairs to get to our Rm 31…but maybe we need to be a bit fitter! Both of our bedside lamps/ lights flickered a lot. , so we used main lights The air conditioner smelt a bit like urine sometimes when we turned it on , the digital display indicated that the filter was due for change. We just opened the balcony windows and used fans and we were comfortable.
