Room 23 was on the second floor (top, 4 flights of stairs)) and we had a nice sea view. Nice balcony with chairs and table. The room was neat, clean and owner thought about a lot of details. Plenty of coffee/tea and cookies & candy at arrival. Free parking. Note: Hairdryer is not a standard item in the room but if you request it will be in the room @ arrival for your lenght of stay, Perfect! There is a little shop/food take away 5 minutes walk @ the gas station. We stayed for 5 nights, was very comfortable and afordable and can recommend it.

The heavy wooden chairs on the balcony, hardly able to move them if you need some space to place the drying rack. The dining table chairs made quite some noice after sliding them so maybe a soft slider for under each leg will solve this but this issue of noise is more to keep the downstairs neighbours happy. For the nearest restaurants, wich were open during our stay, you have to drive 15 minutes to the city centre where you have multiple choices of eateries.

Beach views and extremely comfortable beds- lovley range of hot beverages and bathroom packs were amazing. Close to beach and Room 18 smelt clean and tidy. Park for the kids to play and surf Club across the road Serves drinks only and food trucks come on certian days - Servo next door and resturant 10min walk up the road- meals and drinks

Room was unclean under the beds - and there was a funny smell in room 3 family room and had to have the door open a majority of the time. There was some form of substance on the floor under one of the double beds

Fantastic stay. The room was spotless with plenty of space. Gaynor and Jo were welcoming and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed - nothing too much trouble. We had a really wide deck right across one side of the building with water views as well as a private balcony on the other side overlooking the beach. The pool was again spotless and great to cool down and relax. The motel was right across from the beach and a really quiet spot. Stinger suits are recommended but it’s a lovely place to go for a walk anyway and not busy. The lifesavers are across the road as well. The shop next door make the best potato scallops and pineapple fritters! Curlews scurried around over the road at night and called - great to watch. Black cockatoos visited the trees across the road in the mornings - so close and beautiful.

Couldn’t think of anything needing improvement.

Sarina Beach is great stop-over. We are cruising north from Melbourne to Cairns! Sandpiper Motel is on the beach, clean, and good service. Safe off-street parking. Great to walk along the beach. The “town” is small - walk to other end, to the Sarina Beach Motel for drinks and a meal. Well run, clean, efficient, great and helpful staff. Recommended.

The outside of the hotel (outside corridors, stairways) could have been cleaner.

Large room, kitchen facilities, proximity to beach, nice cycling around area, bar across the road, large front balcony, slight view of ocean from balcony (we were in the back block)

No comfortable seating on balcony, no seating at all in room except dining chairs (not really a comfortable place to hang out during the day, esp. if the weather isn't nice), unpleasant smell around entry door,

We found the unit, clean, comfortable and spacious and would be more than happy to return. The good sized balcony and nice seating was a bonus especially on these hot days, we enjoyed the cool sea breeze in the afternoons and evenings, even early mornings with a cuppa while watching the sunrise over the water was very pleasant.

Only one little dislike and something to think about, was the over the top use of a chemical room deodorisers, I don’t know if a previous guest was perhaps a smoker and this was the reason, but it was extremely overpowering upon entry especially for myself being asthmatic and a trigger for me. Luckily there was a strong breeze that afternoon and after a few hours of opening up both the balcony doors and windows and use of the ceiling fans it improved and I was able too be inside.

We loved our stay at the Sandpiper. Gaynor, the proprietor was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was comfortable and there were lots of little, thoughtful extras to make it feel like home. I hadn’t expected the kitchenette and I appreciated the lovely Pina Colada bathroom products. Ten out of ten. Well worth the short drive off the highway.

Sandpiper is directly across from a clean beach. The room was basic and dated, but perfect for an overnight stop or stayover for several days to make use of the beach across the road. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, ample tea/coffee supplies and liked the touches of yellow throughout the unit to brighten the space. Good shower as well and fluffy towels.

Wish there was a screen door leading to the balcony to enable the door to remain open to take advantage of the wonderful sea breeze. Couldn't keep it open at night due to insects, so had to resort to aircon to keep the room from heating up.

The Sandpiper Motel was a breath of fresh air compared to other motels we had stayed in on our holiday to North Queensland. The room was large and comfortable, with kitchen facilities, and it was a nice surprise to have all the little extras in the room. Just a 2 min stroll to the beach.

Since the motel is at the beach, access to food and shops was a bit limited.

This motel was just awesome, right across from the beach. Our unit has a balcony which was nice to sit out and have drinks on whilst watching the world go by. Spacious unit with good aircon and comfy beds, it was one of those places we wished we could spend more time at. Great selection of teas/coffee/Milo etc. and funky retro decor. Highly recommended
