Convenient hotel literally 5 minutes from the spirit of Tasmania terminal. The bistro offers meals till late and breakfast from 6:30am which is great for when we stayed after arriving on a day sailing and stayed here the night before a day sailing back. Food is excellent and good size portion in both the bistro for dinner and then for breakfast the next day. Staff very friendly and welcoming. There’s quite a big step up to some of the rooms so suggest asking the lovely reception staff if you have mobility issues and they will look after you. All in all a good place to stay for the price. Can’t complain at all

This is a motel, and is rated as such. Argosy Motor Inn was impressive - excellent value, very clean and comfortable and well equipped for my single night stay. I felt very safe staying here as a solo older female traveller. It was clean and smelled fresh. The room was spacious. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, with pristine white, good quality sheets. I slept well. Everything worked and was present - lights, tv remote, basin plugs, face washers, coathangers etc, There were plenty of powerpoints conveniently located. Great bathroom. Immaculately clean with a large walk in shower with excellent water pressure. Clean soft white towels, a large modern vanity and large mirror. There was a microwave, bar fridge, kettle, crockery, glassware and cutlery for two, and basic tea and coffee supplies. Parking was right outside the room door, making unloading easy and making me feel very safe returning to the motel later in the evening. The motel complex was very quiet despite seeming to have almost full occupancy. 11am checkout was a nice touch. Located 5 minutes from the Spirit of Tasmania terminal, this was the perfect accommodation to meet a friend arriving from the overnight ferry at 7am, before we continued our Tassie break together. Five minute drive in to Devonport central area, so a very convenient location. Reception was friendly and very efficient - check-in took about 2 minutes. Checkout was equally efficient. Bistro and breakfast room on-site, but I did not use either so cannot comment.

Some of the decor was dated, but new bathroom facilities and quality modern bedding helped considerably.

My husband and I have stayed here on business for many years. As always, we found it excellent value. A budget hotel but very comfortable beds, great pillows, very clean, fantastic big screen TV , 📺 plentiful hot water in a nice bathroom- and the best is, after a long day's work, just a 20 metre walk across the car park to their lovely bistro. Staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Devonport.

This hotel/motel is located on the river and just off the motorway, it is easy to find, the room was quiet and a good size it had 2 chairs and a small table the bed was very comfortable as were the pillows, best nights sleep I had while I was away, linen and towels were perfectly fine the bathroom was modern and the shower was good, toiletries were supplied, on site dining room which seems to get very busy and booking a table would be recommended the food is good without being fancy, for a short stay I would recommend this hotel

The room was good. The location was excellent.

The bed had an electric blanket but it was not plugged in and the cord was tucked well under the mattress. With great effort we were able to find the plug end and get it plugged in. The shower was disappointing. Getting the water temperature set to a desirable temperature took a bit of doing. Also, without a door on the shower, it was difficult not to get the everything wet, including the bath mat.

Bed was comfy, shower was good* Room was ok, has been renovated from an older design, there are a few hints. Room was warm when we entered, which I loved, but hubby grumbled it was too hot. I mean, it is winter anyway.... i appreciated the fore thought. It had tea, coffee, heaps of long life milk, biscuits, etc. A squeeze bottle for hand soap and another combo squeeze bottle for shampoo / body wash. Towels were soft and clean. I couldnt get the wifi to work but my phone data worked and was unlimited so I just went with that.

Shower made the whole bathroom floor wet as there is no door, curtain or ledge to stop the water flowing out. Squeeze bottle soap is hard to squeeze

Lovely motel about 5 minutes from the SoT terminal. Staff were fabulous and really helpful, especially with regards to our possible late check in. Room was even better than expected. Clean, updated, amenities and with a super comfortable bed (and electric blankets to take the chill off if needed). There’s a bistro on site, free parking and a guest laundry so all in all it really is a great place to stay. Definitely recommended.

Spacious room. Decor is simple but well maintained and clean. Like the cutlery and plates, etc. Very close to the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry. Free parking is fantastic and plenty of parks available which are outdoors with easy access and no height restrictions. Restaurant available onsite and bottle store next door if wanting it.

Location - a bit of a walk into town but close to Ferry if that is the priority.

The bed was lovely and comfortable, especially a real treat was an electric blanket. Housekeeping staff were very good, we were there for three days, every day they came to enquire if we needed clean towels or anything needed refilling tea, coffee etc., meals were exceptional and staff most obliging.

Perhaps seeing as we were there for three days, maybe an armchair would have been appreciated. A dishcloth for washing dishes. And to have a rail beside the toilet and Inside the shower for people with a mobility problem would be helpful…no room for wheelchair access, although disability access was not advertised in there website, so if that was needed, suggest you look for a place with that service accessible…these are just suggestions, and not really complaints….as it was a nice, little comfy room….

What a gem this place is, driving in I has my reservations (being an older building) staff on check in were very friendly and welcoming, got into my room and wow, it smelt clean, it was clean, the rooms were modern, massive TV, and the most wonderful shower. I was disappointed I was only staying one night. My room had a view of the river. Room service for dinner was very prompt and the food was fabulous. I have nothing bad to say about this place.
