Whenever I mentioned ‘Apollo Bay’ everyone said to stay at this hostel because it’s ‘Amazing’. Normally ‘hostel’ and ‘Amazing’ don’t go together but this was a really wonderful treat. The guys on check in and check out were beautiful and super helpful. There was a group booking who stayed in the rooms surrounding mine but I didn’t hear anything. I was surprised there were only 2 showers and 2 toilets for 14 (or so) rooms downstairs but there was never a queue or delayed using the facilities. I didn’t use the kitchen but had a look and it was super clean, common areas also! Parking was great because if you couldn’t get on the site, they had on road parking. I just loved it here, for a lone female traveler it’s a 10/10.

The door leading down to the rooms on the ground floor was super squeaky. Wasn’t a problem but you could hear it in the room.

Beds were comfortable and linen was clean. Kitchen was satisfactorily equipped. Great games room with pool table and board games and TV room was well stocked with DVDs. Location was fantastic, within a short walk to the beach and shops (about 150m). Beautiful sun deck on top to enjoy meals or drinks etc

The showers didn’t have great water pressure and water temperature wasn’t overly warm. Bathroom benches were usually wet as sink design meant water dripped out of the sink onto the bench no matter how careful you were. Prices were quite high for hostel style accomodation.

The whole hostel is eco hostel, nature daylight, window with green view from the room. The location is in the center of Apollo Bay easy to walk to the beach, shops, restaurant and grocery. The room and common area were always clean. The shower has a dry area which I really like They provides plenty of space for common area, kitchen, theatre room, working room. In summary my stay was impressive.

There has no personal plug for every beds and there were limited in the room so better provide a power board. The mattress were comfy but the bunk bed structure are not strong. It shakes when the guest of upper bed climb up and down.

Everything you’d expect from a well run YHA! Great location, lots of common space and good kitchen area. Bathrooms were clean and well equipped (surprised to have a hairdryer!). Staff were friendly and generally a good stay.

No AC in the rooms which was to be expected but made for a hot night. The bunk beds wobble a lot so if you even slightly move, it shakes the top and bottom bunk which isn’t ideal. Top bunk had no plug sockets near to the bed so you had to leave valuables away from you to charge.

The hostel was nice, quiet, and clean. I liked that the rooms had patio doors, kitchen was well equipped. The mattress was very comfy and the bedding clean and soft, I had a good night sleep. I haven't explored much as I only stayed for one night but I liked what I saw.

Bed squeeks every time you move, no socket for the upper bunk, my light didn't work. I imagine the bathroom with only 2 toilets and showers gets very busy during peak times.

The cosy common room lounge with a wonderful fireplace. Modern well equipped kitchen. Hostel is a just stones throw from the beach :)

No one at reception anytime in the evening. Had to phone to get into the building on arrival even though it was within check-in hours. It's a shame YHA seems to be cutting back on staff hours. I used to enjoy getting the hints and tips about local highlights from the staff. It would have been nice to have had a personal touch

The view was amazing on the balcony area and the arcades and stores and beaches were about 3-4 minute walkes and the beaches were good for swimming for kids and safe.

The toilets were clean and showers were warm and the tv aloud movies and their cats is very nice and friendly black cat and great place to have fun and chill playing pool games and board games

I knew YHA as it has many hostels in Australia but I had never stayed at one of them. This hostel is absolutely fantastic. Everything is super clean, there are two fully equipped kitchens, beautiful lounge rooms, tv rooms and also a rooftop with lounge chairs. There is such a relaxing atmosphere that makes you feel like being a guest in someone's house, not in a hostel. The position is very central. Couldn't recommend more

Great location, great communal areas, two extremely well equipped and clean kitchens. Short walk to the beach, great rooftop terrace and garden. Everything clean. One of the best hostels I've been to in Australia!

No curtains at the beds, only fixed reception times in the morning and evening, but no problem when you know. Only two showers + two toilets on ground floor, but usually it works fine

This place is one for the books! We enjoyed our overall stay here. We celebrated our Christmas eve with our friends here. The place is clean and they have everything you need in their kitchen. It was indeed a home away from home. Would love to be back in this place.

The only thing we noticed was that some guests were sleeping in the common hall so we were not able to hangout in this area. But overall, the place is superb.
