Access was interesting. We parked in the forecourt which was great as we both have artificial knees! We will stay again. The room was large enough and the walk in shower was excellent.

We had difficulty understanding the receptionist but she tried hard to help. We had left a phone message at least one week before booking in and never had a response...bad service. Upon telephoning to check if toaster and microwave were available we were told NO so we arranged our food accordingly. This was false information as both were in the room and would have made our stay easier- pleasant. We have made another booking BUT again have left a message three days ago....NO RESPONSE. WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING AN ANSWERING MACHINE IF CALLS NOT RETURNED.

I liked the location. It was close to restaurants, a supermarket, tram stops, had lovely surroundings. The staff at the front desk gave us fresh towels and amenities when we asked for them.

The signage to get into the hotel’s parking entrance was not obvious - it just said the hotel’s address without the hotel’s name. If I had forgotten the address, I wouldn’t have known it was the hotel’s parking entrance. It was on Queens Lane, not Queens Road which I kept going back to in search of the parking. After finally finding the parking entrance, parking was uncomfortable - you had to drive into a lift which then took you up to the parking floor. The car lift was very narrow.

I absolutely loved my stay but wish it was more than one night. The young woman at reception was lovely. I didn't arrive till 5pm and asked if my room was up very high. I'm regional VIC and had an appointment at the Alfred the next morning. It was a treat staying overnight in the city. I was on the 5th floor. After mentioning this, I was given a room on the 13th floor and told to enjoy the sunset. I definitely did and slept like a baby. Wow. I loved my stay and will book again when I need to go back. The views over Albert Park and the Bay..... stunning!! Location was probably 200 metres from the Alfred. Perfect and thank you.

Studio with partition accomodating two double beds was perfect for our family holiday. A lot of details were considered in the property - kitchenette items, bathroom amenities, plug points, lamps, TV everything added to the convenience. The location and staff were great. We used public transport and also a car and the parking facilities at the property. And also the gym which was a surprise for us.

The phone lines (multiple calls to landline and mobile during the day) were not answered on two days when I was trying to arrange car parking.

The hotel part is actually in the modern tower block behind the old mansion house. We were upgraded to a 1 bedroom room with a kitchenette on the 7th floor with lovely views towards the east looking over the roof & gargoyles of the old house and out to Wesley College. My husband loved the sliding door that separated the bedroom from the lounge area. I loved the water pressure in the shower - hot & strong. Also loved having a small balcony & opening windows for fresh air. Loved the historical features remaining in the old house / reception area, esp the stained glass and decorative ceiling. Also great access to St Kilda Rd trams for easy access to the CBD and all the areas around town. We did not need a car at all & we went to St Kilda & Balaclava (south of the CBD & the Exhibition Buildings north of the city - quickly & easily by tram.

Carpets in the passage ways are a bit worn & frayed. Shower head would not stay up - have reported it - an easy fix for their maintenance person. Also screen for walk in shower is not big enough, so the bath mat and area outside the shower get wet, but the shower itself was lovely - hot & strong.

The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. I arrived early and they allowed me to check-in early. While there were very minor scuffs and marks on the walls and furniture, the room was clean and the pillows and bedding were brand new. The bathroom was clean throughout. I really can't fault it for the price, especially given the location. I slept well.

It I have to pick anything to fault it'd be that the double bed was two single beds joined together. That's about it. Will stay again.

Location was fine, room was good. Reasonably quiet, Gym was good no other facilities

The bed was barely a double so only good for a solo, you couldn't get two people in that bed. I asked for an earlier check in , arrived 12.30pm, was told my room would be ready at 2pm, then 1pm, then the staff left the reception for almost an hour and I had to call them to see what was going on. Got into my room at 1.30pm.

Next door to the Chinese Visa Application Centre which was our reason for staying. Friendly staff, easy check in, good directions provided to find our room. Room was nice and clean, especially the bed linen which made it a comfortable stay. Decent size TV, room had a kitchenette with dish washer, also had a washing machine and dryer although we didn't need it for our short stay. Close to Albert Park which was nice to walk around. Tram access directly in front which is very convenient.

2 separate trams needed to travel from Southern Cross Station but not hard to do. Can take a train to Flinders St Station and catch a tram from there which I'd probably recommend doing.

I don’t know why the reviews for this place aren’t great - as we didn’t expect much from reading them. But the staff were so accommodating, keeping our stuff for us when we checked in and also when we checked out. The rooms were equipped with absolutely everything we needed. Washing machine, dryer, kitchen pots and pans, microwave. We kept laughing saying we could live there! When I asked for air con to be brought up, it was brought up straight away from a smiley lady. Thank you for the lovely stay - and nobody should be nervous about booking here! Did just the job.

Excellent location. 10 min tram to CBD or St Kilda beach. 30 min walk to St Kilda beach. Loved the two room sliding door setup. Friendly staff. First time using a car lift. If you plan on parking, better not have a big car.

No smart TV, so no Netflix. The pillows were too hard for me. Usually there is a soft and hard pillow, but all were hard, so had trouble getting to sleep. Just bring your own pillow.
