The Melbourne is centrally located in Perth. The building is well designed and kept clean. Reception staff are friendly and easy to talk with. The room had a nice outlook, with a pleasant, functional and clean feel. It's also a walkable distance to King's Park and the Botanic Gardens.

Car parking is either at the adjacent car park ($30 per entry) or at a Wilson car park just around the corner ($17 per entry, quite good by Perth standards). Unfortunately, the Hotel desk staff did not communicate the location or name of the Wilson car park well enough to my husband, so he parked in another car park 100m down the road by mistake (costing $32, not a total disaster). When he realised this, the hotel staff would not take any responsibility or provide any actual help. They need to be much more clear about how to find the correct car park – guests may arrive tired and disoriented, so need extra consideration for things like this.

Loved the way the hotel has been renovated, and the sedate buzz from the various eating places on the ground floor drifting up to the higher levels. Staff were amazing, room was great, beds very comfortable. Will definitely recommend it to friends & not hesitate to stay there again. Thanks Melbourne Hotel :)

The sign in the bathroom being only in English (advising to keep the door closed when showering so smoke alarm in bedroom doesn't sound and threat of $750 penalty being imposed). I was travelling with a French friend who was not able to read/understand this. If its really necessary to have a scary sign like this then it should be in multiple languages.

A sympathetic and interesting fusion of the old architecture of the original Melbourne Hotel and the new adjoining modern Melbourne Hotel.

Having selected the hotel for our Wedding Anniversary and having completed a tour in WA, we arrived on a Sunday tired and encountered the following:- Not only was there no bar open to quench our thirst but room service was not provided on a Sunday. The Sunday reception staff person was not at the desk/reception when we arrived and after waiting 10 minutes she re-appeared from the downstairs toilet area with no apology. If only the hotel had a sign at the desk explaining that it was unmanned for a short time as it was skeleton staff and therefore the staff had taken a short (toilet) break, not the ambiguous sign that stated the reception was temporarily unmanned with a request to be patient!

Ease of access to the room. The bathroom was spacious, the facilities are all in excellent condition too. I would love to stay longer next time and check out the bar and restaurant.

Everything at the accommodation exceeded expectation. I don't have a bad thing to say about the accommodation. Thank you for everything. I even messed up and didn't turn on the hot water correctly thinking we were going to have cold showers. The reception sent someone up straight away. I felt like an idiot, the man that came up was very understanding with my error.

The fantastic staff and help when I needed support, great food and service, the bar crew make fantastic cocktails fantastic food great service all round, the front desk is especially helpful for people with issues, like if you can't talk,I have brain injuries and find it difficult to deal with issues in my head, the Melbourne Hotel has made my visit very exceptional, while waiting for surgery,. I would highly recommend this hotel, for anyone who visits W.A to enjoy the great service and great food that is available,. The front desk has fantastic features that will help when finding your way around the state of W.A ,for example I find it hard to deal with crowded places, the concierges have shown me that they have exceptional skills for people going through issues of all kinds of things, such as not being able to communicate effectively, Even when kitchen is not open they showed me that Perth has lots to offer, great sites tours, and lots to do. I recently stayed at a hotel that didn't understand the issues that can present themselves when people with brain injuries face. As a person with brain injuries they have made my stay very warm and inviting. I bloke with brain injuries have found that the Melbourne Hotel team has all kinds of ways to help when difficult issues arise,. As someone said to me keep your chin up ,when difficult times are in front of you keep your chin up,there's always people who have problems in different situations. So as a bloke with brain injuries I have found the Melbourne Hotel team to be extremely helpful and super supportive,. I would highly recommend the Melbourne Hotel to anybody who has problems in getting around the great state of W.A. For a great place to stay while checking into W.A. I highly recommend the Melbourne Hotel 33 Milligan's St Perth W.A. Cheers from bloke with brain injuries. Ps I can't remember. 🇦🇺🍻🌹👌

Gorgeous interior design and architecture. It feels like such a big space, but it’s really got a much smaller footprint. The preservation of older, more industrial features is complemented with a combination of raw cement, large thick panel glass panes (great viewing in rainy weather) and plush furnishings in the communal spaces. The room was no different - colour and design leave the room feeling bigger and more indulgent than the space expects. Three amazing restaurants right there!!

The shower converter between the rain head and smaller shower head didn’t work at all. By appearance of the pristine smaller shower head I don’t think it’s ever worked. The rib between the two single mattresses (to make the king) was a bit uncomfortable. $30 parking each day. RIP.

Wrap around balcony, freanch doors which opened onto the balcony; it was a very good example of adaptive reuse of an old Victorian pub. Rooms were simple and well designed. Like that there was a study nook.

The restaurant which has excellent reviews was closed. The internet connection was extremely poor and definitely didn't work. Both my colleague and I had to work in the foyer and it still didn't work properly!

This is the first hotel I've stayed at in a while where I had genuinely no complaints. It was exceptionally comfortable, the bath was sensational and bathroom itself very large. Comfortable bed, quiet room, luxurious without being over the top. Plenty of shampoo/conditioner/soaps/bath salts etc which was lovely. Nice lighting.

The room could have been slightly larger but it was fine for one person staying for business.

The innovative redesign of the space incorporates a contemporary feel yet sympathetic approach to the heritage hotel. The staff were very helpful and professional on both occasions and food and drinks were excellent throughout.

The rooms are well designed with mod cons however we were a little confused as to the small sink in relation to the size of bathroom and the shower curtains which seemed like a rather dated feature in such a modern high spec hotel. The hotel features a rooftop bar however seemingly only open for a few hours 1 day a week. We visited in early Autumn but would have loved to have seen that.

Excellent rooms and location

We asked on the Friday 24th March when we arrived if it would be possible for a late check out for 12.00 o'clock on the Sunday, the girl who checked us in told us this would be OK. On the Sunday we had a knock on our door 207 at 10.50 asking us what time we were leaving as check out was 10.00 and that we would have to pay 50 dollars for a late check out.We explained to the gentleman what we had arranged on the Friday with no mention of a charge by the girl.We paid the 50 dollars but should have been informed.
