The room was quiet unless you are awake early in the morning when the near by town clock goes off sounding the hour with strikes for the hour. The bathroom blocks the street noise and the shower works well with sufficient hot water :) I had a single room which was indeed a single room being not much wider than 2 single beds but I didn't need much more . it had a large LCD Tv on the wall and a modern small fridge. Beautiful old grand central staircase... If you had a heavy suitcase, they will assist you if you ask.

Upstairs they have a nice balcony restaurant. Overlooking the main intersection. Staff were friendly, polite. Food ordered was above expectations. A little on the pricey side but was excellent, well presented and eloquently sufficient. Worth a visit even if you don’t accommodate the hotel!

The rooms themselves are old, showing signs of disrepair, no windows, only a double bed (not great for tall people.) TV position about 7ft up the wall! Corridors outside rooms can noisy in early hours!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Shower had great water pressure and nice hot water. Breakfast wasn't available at the hotel, but we found a great spot just around the corner. Meal at the Balcony restaurant was amazing - not cheap, but great food and great cocktails. Conveniently located right in the middle of town. Some great entertainment from the lovely balcony (if you're into people watching!)

Off street parking lot was full. Had to park in front of the hotel and move vehicle before monitored parking started in the morning. The building is old, and the walls are thin. There was a lot of noise from people moving up and down the hallway, and you could hear people talking in adjacent rooms. Not a good place to stay if you're a light sleeper.

When we were stuck in Kalgoorlie with covid, management was extremely helpful. they delivered extra linen etc, and we were able to wait out the few days till we teated negative with minimum trouble. We had one meal in The Balcony restaurant to celebrate our recovery. The Oceanic Chicken was superb, and my husband said the steak was OK.

General lighting. Bedlights and light in kitchen were fine.

If you want a traditional Goldfields pub experience this is the place: from upstairs pub hallways to the squeaky floorboards, grandiose staircase and fading carpets. Rooms have been revamped but maintain the vibe. The chance to sit on the verandah and look out at life in a mining town is special. Downstairs bar area keeps you on the journey. Food at the bar and in the restaraunt is very good.

Car parking. While you can park you car off road some distance from the hotel, parking nearby is on the street, which can be problematic during weekday parking 'hour'restrictions'.

History, lovely features. We ate at the Irish restaurant and the balcony restaurant on the two nights stay. Totally different dining experiences, the balcony restaurant was excellent, top class food and service. Wait staff very friendly.

Very small things in the rooms. Broken or missing fixtures in the bathrooms. I wouldn't put the extra blanket near my face. Would love it to smell fresh !! Nothing to stop me returning.

Checkin was easy inside the Irish pub. The suites were located in the building next door and had a few historical touches which was nice. The rooms were spacious and clean and secure. Great being next to a pub to grab a drink and dinner.

The parking was a little insecure but immediately adjacent to the room. The room fronted directly onto the street and had a large crack in the glass but it did look secure enough. Was a little worried about noise from outside or adjoining rooms but once in the bedrooms with the door shut it was very quiet.

The two restaurants….and the bars.

We had a 3 night stay and had an unannounced power outage early in the first morning, which resulted in showering and “toileting” in the dark….not good. But, after a complaint, I have to say that the Manager, Helene, worked out a discount deal to compensate us in some way for the inconvenience. Overall we were very happy with our stay and we would stay there again.

The facilities (bedroom and accessories, shower, toilet, kettle, teabag, milk in fridge,TV) provided comfort. Due to staff hours (unavailability) it would have been helpful if some items could have been left for later pick-up after checking out at 5:30am to run the Pipeline Marathon.

Bells ringing nearby on the hour and in between all through the night - one would habituate if staying longer.

Excellent location right in the heart of town. 2 very good restaurants on premise, with others just a short walk away. The place is exactly what you would expect from a pub that is over 150 years old. the floor boards might creak a bit but the comfort level was high.

There was nowhere in the bathroom to hang the wet towels, We ended up having to dry them out on the balcony. Neither was there anywhere to put your clean clothes in the bathroom.
