The staff were all exceptionally helpful, cheerful and efficient. My room was quiet and of a good size; the bed was comfortable and the bathroom compact but well-designed. The breakfast was excellent, much of which (for example the granola and the jams) I believe are made by the hotel. There was a plenteous choice of fresh juices, fruit, pastries and a variety of meat. There was no printed menu, but I had the impression that nothing would have been too much trouble if one wanted a cooked breakfast. I didn’t eat dinner in the main restaurant, although the bar is very pleasant and there is an excellent Italian menu for food taken in the bar area. I liked the open, tranquil nature of the common lounge area, although I was at the hotel at a quiet time of year, and perhaps this could become rather a busy thoroughfare en route to the restaurant at other times of the year. The location of the hotel is excellent – in a reasonably quiet street, well away from the noise of the bars, shops and restaurants but within an easy five- to ten- minute walk of the main tourist areas and the cathedral. The railway station is only a twenty-minute walk away. In summary: a very warm, welcoming hotel even in the middle of winter, in the centre of a city.

It is difficult to identify something I did not like, however it would have been helpful if the complementary teas in the room had been replenished automatically each day. Also a small amount of fresh milk would have been pleasant (rather than the creamy UHT which is standard in hotels as a substitute for fresh milk). Having said this, I’m sure all this would have been attended to had I asked.

The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring central Antwerp. But what really makes this hotel stand out is the team. Always willing to go above and beyond, nothing was too much of an ask, and what's more you felt welcomed and at ease to ask. If you're looking for a luxury hotel that isn't uptight this is perfect! And there are amazing features like The Little Tile House, and the vault that add an extra uniqueness to the stay. Oh and the breakfast was brilliant!

There's really not a lot to say here, my only suggestion is to make it clearer what can be ordered at breakfast, to be honest the team will make pretty much anything you ask for, but some suggestions on a menu would likely be helpful.

The room was clean and contained: a mini-fridge (empty), a safe, bottles of water (glass), glasses, "Antwerpse handjes" (typical cookie from Antwerp), a Marshall Bluetooth speaker, and a TV. The bathroom had various products, and contained a set of bathrobes as well as a set of slippers. The overall atmosphere felt very luxurious.

There was a black streak (maybe some object/piece of furniture moved against it) on the wall. The toilet was (this was rather well hidden) propped up on some pieces of wood (maybe for extra support?).

Excellent, quiet location just minutes from the historic centre. Lovely big bathroom with good lighting. Large comfortable bed with top quality linens.

Room was in the eaves so it felt a bit oppressive. This effectively shrinks the space as part is not full head height. Made us feel we had drawn the short straw for a deluxe room. There was no wardrobe in the room (whoever heard of that in a five-star hotel?) and the only mirror was a small one in the bathroom. Poor lighting in bedroom. Underfloor heating in bathroom not working properly so v cold.

The staff were very helpful and kind. The biggest part was the hotel was centrally located, very close to the magnificent churches and the gorgeous museum.

The taxi driver charged €40.00 for a ride from Antwerp Central Station to Hotel Franq. I know this has nothing to do with the hotel, but this one incident did change our outlook on Antwerp, but for only a few minutes. The driver said that the taxi meter in Antwerp starts at €35.00. We were tired and just wanted to get to Hotel Franq. This was the only bad incident during our 2 weeks in Belgium.

Lovely smell as you enter the lobby which is fabulously decorated and lots of natural light. Room had lovely air conditioning which in 30+ degree heat was welcome. We changed hotels to this one just because our other one had none and we didn’t want to ruin the last two days of our holiday by having no sleep. The bed and pillows were probably some of the best I’ve ever had staying at a hotel slept like a baby plus they have pillow mist to help you drift off. Shower very powerful. This is a beautiful hotel in an old bank building (hence the original vault in the basement), perfectly located for exploring Antwerp on foot. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to provide great suggestions for sights to see, things to do or where to eat. The parking garage opposite of the hotel is a great plus if you're arriving by car. All in all, we had a great time and I'd stay there again, without any hesitation.

Excellent central location, just a short walk from the centre of the old city. Staff are friendly and professional and the car parking is secure and just across the street (and almost exactly the same price as the city centre public car parks, so good value).

We felt the breakfast was expensive, so did not take breakfast at the hotel. There are some good cafes that serve breakfast that are only a short walk away.

Returning guests and the hotel is in a great location with easy access to the main city; approx min walk. We had a cosy room as we booked late and the only room available and it was adequate for 1 night at 17m2. Staff always pleasant and excellent customer service. Breakfast is ok with a choice of eggs cooked to your order. Limited cold food with a few meat & cheese selections.

Our Nespresso coffee machine did not function properly and we had to get coffee from the restaurant to bring to our room at no extra charge. All other facilities in the room worked well.

A very beautiful place - this hotel is absolutely amazing placed in an old bank building. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was small but cosy and we had everything we needed and slept very well. The bed was extremely comfortable. Also the breakfast was fantastic. Not a huge breakfast but therefore everything was very excellent and freshly made again in a beautiful atmosphere towards the backyard of the building and the possibility to eat outside. We will definitely come back and recommend Franq!
